She's going to have to really work this single for sales and streaming to be high. That's the only way radio will give it a chance. They didn't play On The Floor until it hit #1 on iTunes.

To be fair however annoying pitbull's music may be he's racked up a large amount of radio hits over the past few years while jlo has been less consitent . I could see radio just adding his songs over jlos because he's had better recent success

For what it's worth - radio "adds" don't really mean much in many cases. It's essentially the station acknowledging the song to satisfy the label rep - it's not a guarantee of actual spins. It may mean they play it twice during the overnight for a few weeks - or not at all. What they do after "add"ing the song is totally up in the air and it can be dropped the following week.
My point isn't to debbie downer this J-Lo news - rather to put it all (including the Pitbull/Enrique adds) in perspective. It's all just a marketing tool where labels get stations to say they added it and then use those numbers to promote it. It's not uncommon for songs to be "most added" and still fail to garner any substantial spins.
That said, my local (major market) KISS fm has always been very generous to J-Lo given our large latino population... they played First Love for awhile with very few other majors spinning it. I'm anxious to see what they do with this one.

It'll fall off and probably return for a 2nd week when the video is released. If it's buzz worthy. The lyric video isn't doing so hot - so who knows.

How far is this from the top 50? I don't know the exact answer, but I do know that it's current all-format audience is 0.379m (+0.051). #50 on the Pop-only chart today has 0.738m ... sooooo.....

3 adds this week. hopefully they'll be a video, i still believe in this. I bet there will be a video and I'm sure it'll do ok - at least initially. But long term... I'll just say that I've given up believing in anything by veteran artists on Pop radio, regardless of how good I think a song is. And without it, there's just no way. Sexy video might land her back in the top 40 for a week!? Or not. Who even knows at this point.

I'm anxious to see what they do with this one. Just a follow up on this - they've yet to add it or spin it. I see a Denver pop station has given it a couple spins... but all the other stations are smaller/medium markets. Boo.

I have to say this track has already surpassed my expectations by charting lol.
And I like the part before the chorus, "we used to be, crazy in love."
So go J.Lo! I don't think anyone is seriously kidding themselves that this will do well. But I'm happy with it.

The harsh reality of putting out albums and singles and the US can't be bothered with any of it - aside from maybe a sexed up video about asses for a week. God bless America.

Not going to lie, I lost any interest I had in this song after hearing about Dr. Luke working on it with her, and I think a lot of people did as well (not that the song held much of my interest to begin with). Not a smart move.

How can an artist with so much hype surrounding her release such crap?

Dr. Luke terribleness aside, I don't get what she saw in this song.

I love JLo but this song would have been a filler track on most people's album, including Meghan Trainor's.
I think that mediocre material is hurting her more than ageism. She's still really popular, but most of her songs since On The Floor didn't connect.

She's still really popular, but most of her songs since On The Floor didn't connect. While I don't disagree, I also don't think many young ladies today consider J-Lo "cool" or someone they talk about with their friends. She's very much a "mom" to today's younger (24 and under) demo, both literally and figuratively. So even if a song is good, it's an uphill battle because of who she (and others) is (are) competing against for spins. Radio only has so much room on their schedule, and J-Lo is going to lose out to any single one of today's hot tickets.

The lyrical content of this song is so cheesy. Mediocre at best. At least this wasn't another Pitbull collaboration.

I like this song but I wish the production was beefed up a little. I guess I can see why people are complaining about this. It is a little corny and slightly immature but it's still catchy and I don't think it's as tacky as an "I Luh You Papi". lol
