YES! Brad is one of my favourite artists, so any news of new music is great to hear. What would be neat is if the lyrics of this song revolve around him realizing that he is getting older and his career isn't what it used to be, but he is not going down 'Without A Fight'. Though his song will probably be more clever than that.

So ready for this. Hoping the title alludes to something clever about country music.
I also hope he doesn't try to follow any trends!

I would guess just off the title, which is honestly hard to due with Paisley sometimes...this is probably a song where the hook is something along the lines of not letting a relationship end without a fight...possibly carrying that fight metaphor throughout the song (relationship where they fight, etc, etc) If I get this right I'll be fairly stoked lol.

Something like how country isn't going down without a fight. I'm sure you're right and it won't be like that, since he does seem to do a lot of the "country" stuff. Can't wait.

If by "already had a song about country music", you mean the aptly titled "This Is Country Music", that was six years and twelve singles ago. It's been enough of a gap. The country music scene has changed significantly since 2010 and I can very easily see Brad doing a song like that right now, fighting for real country music in this pop/R&B/rock-driven environment. I'm looking forward to it.

I mean that's because most of them seem to enjoy the current environment. Brad seems to be pretty against it.

Aircheck email today says this debuts at 6:00 a.m on May 13th and features a "very special guest."

While Kentucky25's theory about what this song is about seems most plausible to me, let me speculate about another possibility. When I first heard the title, the first thing that came to mind was Brad's wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley's recently released book about her mother's battle with dementia and how she and her family had to learn to cope with and accept her mother for what she was becoming. I could imagine Brad being inspired by what he has seen his wife and in-laws go through to write a song about facing the prospect of losing people to illness or to death, and after going through various stages of denial, grief, anger, etc., resolving not to let that person go "without a fight." In that scenario, the "very special guest" on the song could be Kimberly Williams-Paisley's mother, or perhaps a beloved country legend who, through his/her own story or just by his/her presence, could represent the heroes who built us and whose presence we cling to. Glen Campbell comes to mind, although I'm not sure he would have been in any state to record when this song was written. Brad probably has all forms of Little Jimmy Dickens sound clips on record, so maybe he interpolated one of those. Now, the above doesn't sound very summery to me. On the other hand, it seems like trying to re-establish country songs as being about real life and things that matter is on trend. So...maybe? Still more inclined to think that Kentucky25 has it right.

I can't wait to hear this one! I actually do think it's about protecting the roots of Country music and not giving up without a fight.

The chatter on twitter (her indicative tweets suggest it as well) is that Demi Lovato is the special guest on the new Brad single. The photo they used in the ad is totally her when I finally compared them, lol.

No better singer to have on a song about real country music not giving up without a fight than Demi! ;) I know you don't think that, but I am so surprised at how many people think that is what the song is about when the title is pretty generic and could be abut so many things.

If it really is Demi, then the relationship thought I had carried more water. A duet similar to "Remind Me".

I'm fine with that as long as it's a country song. What does it matter who the other artist is?

My twitter feed practically exploded when Demi fans saw the ad. They all went, "Oh my God, that's Demi! Ahhh". lol

I am definitely a fan of that choice! For a song that has literally anything to do with not going down without a fight, regardless of whatever angle they choose to spin the hook, Demi is a perfect choice. One has only to listen to her heart-wrenching mega-hit "Skyscraper" and then read about what her personal life was like around the time that song was recorded to realize that she is truly a poster child for overcoming challenges! (Btw I always thought that song would make an excellent country song. I practically start drooling at the thought of Sara Evans or Carrie Underwood tackling those high notes in the 3rd chorus!!! ) I have always thought that in the world of pop, Demi is one star who is just oozing natural talent, and I have always hoped to hear her try her hand at a country song. One thing that interests me about her tweet though is that she said she JUST recorded with someone... Which means if it is indeed the same song, we have been anticipating a brand new Brad Paisley song that hadn't even been recorded yet

Can't wait to hear new music by Brad :) And I like Demi's voice even if it's not the obvious choice for a duet!

I'm really nervous about Brad trying too hard to stay relevant and making this song a trend follower.
But I have faith in him to stay true to his sound.
And I'm glad it's written by the normal crew of Paisley, Lovelace, and Miller (and not Jesse Frasure, busbee, RedOne, the members of War, LunchMoney Lewis, DinnerBread Donny, Yukon Cornelius, and the cast of Jersey Shore).

What?!? A collaboration with Demi Lovato? I am PERCHED. I cannot wait to hear this! She is amazing.
This kinda sorta makes sense considering she had him playing guitar during her iHeart Music Awards performance of "Stone Cold" (or w/e that show was called). That probably led to this or was done because of this song.

I'm more of an Ariana Grande fan (donut debacle aside) but I am really interested in hearing this one!

I'm a huge Demi fan and Brad I'm glad to see him with new music. I've always thought Demi should go country with some soul like in "stone cold" (curse you radio for giving up on this song). So excited to hear this.

I just listened to "Skyscraper" for the very first time.
I think her voice gets a little choppy while singing but wow, that's a powerful, emotional, vulnerable vocal performance. I'm curious to see how this new Brad single sounds to say the least.

I love Demi. Not at all upset about this. I hope the song is good, though. Brad's music usually bores me to tears.
