Maren could easily make the jump to Pop music if she wanted to. I have to wonder how passionate she is about the genre of country, and I think her next album will reveal that answer. "The Middle" is serving as the perfect bridge for her to switch genres and make similar Dance/Pop music. Her next lead solo single will be pretty highly anticipated, and I can't think of a better opportunity to make a splash. Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line will always have very country and southern sounding voices that would never work full time in the Pop genre, and Sam Hunt doesn't seem too interested in crossing over. But Maren seems the perfect candidate to follow Taylor Swift's path.

Looking at who Maren is currently working with, I'd put it at better than 50/50 she goes for at least a crossover on the next album. Don't know what makes you think Sam Hunt isn't interested in crossing over though? His last several singles have all been pushed to HAC/Pop radio. That said, I'm not sure how interested Sam is in music all the time.

Surprisingly Rhett has some pop fans (a lot picked up on him with his most recent album) and if he wanted to cross to pop, he could do it I think. Agree on FGL though, despite their numerous collaborations lately with pop acts.

It's not a BAD video but its not what I wanted for the song. Wish they went the Vegas/VIP route with it and had her all blinged out. But it's fine.

Yep... it's an alright video. She looks cute and I like that she featured Ryan in it! I was just expecting something more... I know know... exciting, I guess. But it's a well made music video anyway.

I had planned out a glitzy Vegas-themed visual for this in my head since long before it was selected as a single, so I'm a little disappointed by this treatment because I don't think it fits the song as well as that would have. That said, this is still a solid video and I do enjoy the Wild West theme. Plus, she looks amazing and it was a nice touch to have Ryan Hurd play her co-star.

I don't like that the video is western-themed lol like what?!? I wanted full on glamour. Oh well, at least there were parts of the video that went where I wanted the video to go lol

The video reminded me a bit of "Giddy On Up" by Laura Bell Bundy but with less comedy and, of course, without the choreography LOL

I completely agree with everything you said. I’m just glad it is still solid enough and that the video wasn’t a 80s Mercedes type of disaster.

I like the video as a video, but not as a representation of this particular song, if that makes any sense.

I always envisioned a "Rapper-esque" style video. Would've been hilariously perfect.

I'm not too familiar with country radio but this doesn't seem to be doing very well. What's the deal? It's coming off of a #1. It wouldn't have been my choice for a single but it's still good.

It's climbing at country radio. It takes forever and a day for songs to top the radio charts in country music if the artist isn't named Luke Bryan. 'Rich' hasn't been on the charts all that long, eight weeks, I believe.

An absolutely tremendous song which I hope spends multiple months on CT40 and become a huge hit; it's definitely unlike anything else on the radio so it's up to the MDs and PDs out there to give plenty of spins to a stellar song which screams originality with a healthy dose of attitude.
The video is an absolute blast as well, and the western theme definitely works for me.

Really late to the party, but I finally picked up Hero last week. I'd been meaning to for a long time and never seemed to get around to it.
She's great at making the more humorous songs work, between this and "Drunk Girls Don't Cry."

Two bad updates in a row...I hope this hasn’t peaked. Honestly, with the massive success of “The Middle”, it might not be a bad idea to drop this one and put out something brand new to continue her exposure. It seems obvious that even if this sticks around for another 6 months, it won’t, be remembered as anything special.

Maren posted on social media several times in the last couple of months about writing and recording new music. They might have chosen something new recently and are planning on putting it out in the next months, so it's certainly a possibility they are dropping this one.

While a low peak for this would be unfortunate, it won't be a bad thing if they do pull this, as we would get new music quicker AND this was a single/video so it will now be a staple in her live shows for years to come.

Maren has busted into the Top 30 again. "Rich" moved up three spots to #29 on the Billboard Airplay chart this week.

She has been posting some clips here and there on social media and all of them sound like her second album will be just as strong as her stellar debut effort. I think they are going to let her ride 'The Middle' momentum through the summer and continue to promote this into the Fall (probably peaking somewhere in the teens), and plan on releasing the second album in Spring 2019 after a lead single drops in Winter. This one still gets SUCH a huge reception in concert, and I think establishing it as a staple in her setlist moving forward was the priority, moreso than chart peak, but I think it should have enough ammo to get into the Top 20 by September.

I agree with this, but I'll also just say that I think "Rich" is doing better than how I personally expected it to do. I was kind of thinking it might only make it into the 30s, but it's well into the 20s now and definitely seems likely to make the top 15 at the very least. And who knows, maybe it'll climb quite a bit higher than that even. "Rich" is up to 142 adds on Mediabase, which means there are only 16 stations that haven't added it yet. Maren is out-pacing Brothers Osborne, Chris Janson, Kelsea Ballerini, and Carly Pearce, and she's basically matching LANco and Chris Young, and I'd say that that's fairly impressive. Sales aren't super good (#221 on iTunes) but not bad either, but that probably has more to do with the fact that the album has been out for so long now, and this is the 4th single from it. All in all I think the release of this song has proved to be a pretty good decision, as "Rich" is already a decent-sized hit, and still seems likely to climb quite a bit higher.

Yeah this one seems to go over very well live and backing it up as a proper single means it’ll probably be in her set list for a long time going forward!
I still see this as having a chance to squeak into the top 10 if they push long enough. It’ll just depend on when they plan to release the lead to album #2
