She reminds me of Left Eye somewhat in the video (mostly due to the era and styling), but the flow isn’t Left Eye at all.

Who is Danielle Polanco? I agree about Heavy D though. I saw someone posted the same thing on Twitter. I miss him! She's the female dancer dancing with Bruno Mars. Damn near a legend in the dance world. Isn't she the "I Luh Ya Papi" dancer?

Disagree; it sounds like what most early '90s remixes/rap features did (feature upfront, ad-libs near the end), which I am sure was intentional. Also, despite not changing anything from the original you can tell Bruno put a lot of thought in Cardi's insertion so that she felt like a natural inclusion in the song and not the copy-paste it could have been. She fit on this a lot better than I was expecting her to. Exactly. A lot of people are saying "she reminds me of Left Eye"... however, now listening a couple times over, her delivery and how the song was arranged really reminds me of a 90's MC Lyte feature. Yeah, and knowing Bruno's love of Janet I wouldn't be at all surprised if that song was a literal template! Cardi's flow put me in the mind of Salt-n-Pepa, too.

That chorus is an earworm.
I already know I'll get sick of it after hearing it twelve times a day in a two hour span on the radio, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

This is cute. The video is really, really cool.
It's not really my cup of tea song wise, but I really appreciate what they went for here, including getting Cardi's new parts to match a feature rap form from the 90s. Really dig the production on it, just not a fan of Cardi's flow or Bruno's vocals over it.

Bruno should just call Janet and Mariah and offer to produce their new singles. Or their impending duet.

Expected some less-appealing track remix with mediocre Cardi parts, but that's not what I've got now. Very impressive!

It's not terrible. I know they tried to slow down the song just a tad for Cardi. Her inclusion is decent. I am slighty impressed. This will be another hit for the both of them.

What year do you need to be born in to be a 90s kid? I hear people saying "90s baby" all the time when they are born in 1998 LOL.
Hell, I was born in 1991 and I BARELY consider myself a 90s kid. Despite being born and alive for almost the entire decade, you really don't "remember" much of the first few/several years. I don't really have many memories before like 1995-1996 or so. I think to be considered a "insert decade KID" you have to be born a few years in a previous decade. To be a TRUE 90s kid, I would say be born in 1987-88 or so.
ok, just a random thing in my mind after reading this thread lol

The nostalgic feels of patiently waiting for the new episode of In Living Color every week was just too much for me to handle. I love the fact that they even explicitly stated that it was a tribute to the show at the end. Cardi is proving to be quite versatile. She fit this song better than I could have ever imagined and the choreography was amazing, as I expected it to be. A+. First official jam of 2018! What year do you need to be born in to be a 90s kid? But, for real, not sure how much time you spend in Random Thoughts because I don't really hang out in there that often but I feel like that's the place for...random things in your mind. Just trying to be helpful! Do you like the song/video/both? If so, why? If not, why not?

I went to go listen to the album version just now and NOPE. I need the Cardi version now. They really killed that remix and video. There is just so much... JOY in the damn thing. How can you not smile and bop along?
This deserves to do even better than TWIL.

Bruno Mars is probably that one artist everyone loves that I dislike (musically only, I respect him as a songwriter and artist), especially now he got all funky and stuff.
However, I have to admit, the production in this is amazing! Good job.

This is Fire! Sounds so good, and Cardi makes the song much better. I love her parts in this song. This should do very well on the charts.

Yeah this is quite good. This has a pretty slick groove, Bruno of course sells it wonderfully, and Cardi really spices up an otherwise overly repetive song. Dunno why they released VOTF third, this seems like an obvious single.
