I'm going to be hated for my two lowest songs remaining. I just wanna say that I loved these songs back then, (One of them was my favorite song for weeks) but the rest of the songs just aged better.

Just saying actual evidence.
PDR peaked at 2 and Needed Me peaked at 7. Thats proof what the actual public liked more, isnt it?

I actually love urban bops like this (aka not that rap etc) and also Rihanna's one of my favorite vocalists so she makes everything better for me. I mean, she's not as a great singer as Christina, Beyoncé, Demi, Adele. But I love her voice so much.

Boring as heck, annoying when she extended YOOOOUUUU and NEEEEDEED. Okay fine, but this is not the same thing as it being objectively bad, because if people disagree on that point it clearly isn't. Me personally? I like the vocal run in the chorus, I like the triplet rhythm on the vocals in the pre-chorus ('f**k your white horse and a carriage', etc.) and I find the production sonically appealing.

He staged a comeback in 2009 with the Relapse album, which was not well-received at all. He gave it another go the following year with the Recovery album and it reversed his downward trajectory. "Not Afraid" got his hardcore fans back onboard while "Love The Way You Lie" got the casual pop audience back on board. Rihanna was similarly in a downward slump during the Rated R era. Both this collaboration and "Rude Boy" saved her. In "Love The Way You Lie", the pair play out the two sides of an abusive relationship. Eminem is known for being angry and Rihanna is known for that Chris Brown incident, so it works. The song became one of the biggest hits of 2010 all around the world. {Still in the running}Diamonds Disturbia Don't Stop The Music Kiss It Better Love On The Brain Needed Me Only Girl (In The World) Pon De Reply Russian Roulette S&M SOS Stay (feat. Fun fact: Love The Way You Lie was the year-end #1 of 2010 in the UK despite peaking at #2. It spent 4 weeks at #2 behind 4 different #1's. Dynamite being one of them, which funnily enough, was blocked by LTWYL in the US.

Actually I think that Love On The Brain is worse than Needed Me. I overranked both...
Where Have You Been is VERY annoying and Stay is VERY boring. Those are my reasons for not liking those songs.

The darker direction of her subsequent album was almost inevitable. It's a sound she hadn't explored yet. "Russian Roulette" may not have done all that well in the US, but it's become a fan favourite (on Pulse at least). The song is pure vulnerability and fear. The gun sound effects makes it feel so real. {Still in the running}Diamonds Disturbia Don't Stop The Music Kiss It Better Love On The Brain Needed Me Only Girl (In The World) Pon De Reply S&M SOS Stay (feat. I feel like I should be more baffled that a song about domestic violence became one of the biggest hits of 2010. Well when 90% of the songs on pop radio are about getting drunk in a club while putting your hands up, sung over a "generic" dance beat, something like LTWYL is bound to stand out.

It's piano ballad and possibly the slowest song she's ever released. It took off in the US after the Grammy's, peaking at #3 on the Hot 100. It charted during a period of 2013 when a bunch of major artists coincidentally had a major hit with a ballad - "Daylight", "When I Was Your Man", "Just Give Me A Reason" and "Mirrors".
