I still think it's a mess.. Her last brilliant album was over a decade ago. Yes she may still have a Christmas hit every year but so does Brenda Lee. Mariah is no longer relevant in this day and age. All the old divas keep trying and once in awhile they make a breakthrough with one song. This isn't the song! I'm not hating on her I'm just saying sinkhole the hits and realize your star has burnt out. Like Janet, Madonna and Cher. Even Britney Spears at her young age is over. Minor hits that stick around for a day or a week don't make you a top star anymore and actually never did. Enjoy yours riches and let the new stars shine. This may come off harsh, but I don't think you realize what an a**hole you sound like. You wanna tell a 46 year old woman that she should stop doing what she loves because maybe she's not as good at it or as successful as she used to be? Here's a solution: if you think she's so "irrelevant," "old," and "burnt out" how about you stop listening to her and posting in her threads? Not to mention selfish, as there are thousands of us who are incredibly grateful she's still out there making music. wow and the name calling starts because I have my opinion. Just as you have your taste I have mine and these threads are here to give our opinions on the songs and artists. I like her old stuff but I don't find her music in the last few years appealing. I wish she would come out with something that really sparks a comeback but let's face it after a certain time artists that were successful in years past are stuck in their fantasy world of what used to be and don't wanna move with the times. Look at what is hot today in the music scene and for the most part you won't see any artists names hitting it big on radio or streaming from the 90s or even the early 2000s. It's sad but the truth. I try with Manny artists to buy new music but it sounds outdated and boring. She should tour and actually sing Live her hits That's what the real fans want to hear.

"The star has no option but to fight back against an industry that selectively savages female pop stars who flub
R&B, rap and hip-hop artists are constantly the victims of an authenticity witch hunt, as critics look for ways to undermine their talents. Criticizing these musicians for lip syncing is another way of saying these artists can’t sing or have no talent. This mindset is partly a function of how many consider genres such as pop, rap and hip-hop; inferior to rock ‘n’ roll. But it also illustrates the double standards applied to artists operating within these genres. After all, rock-oriented musicians seem to get more of a pass for performance mistakes."

I'm sorry-- did you think it was sweet of you to drop in and basically say Mariah should retire to make room for new artists? You should think about what you said before playing the victim... Anyway, loving I Don't more and more with each listen. And still top 10 on iTunes...

Oh and one more thing.... The song has dropped to #15 on iTunes. Barely managed 24 hrs in the top 10 . Let's see where it is in the next 24.

I'm going to jump in because the part that i bolded is utterly ageist and ridiculous . Nobody needs to step aside and bring on new talent, there is new talent, they don't need anyone to step aside to enter the music industry lmfao are you serious? I have a suggestion, why dont you go support the plethora of new artists and take that attitude there. How about you step aside from your job and let new talent have your seat? You're entitled to your musical opinion and i could care less what you think of Mariah or her song but i do care when your justifications are ageist and utterly irrelevant. besides i hardly doubt anyone wants career advice, maybe stick to the song at hand.

Where have you been?! ^ After all these years she still has that effect on us. Still here, but mostly reading. I wish I was less busy with this tiring accounting job. Though it's always cool to occasionally come here and read some of you all posts. ^^

She should tour and actually sing Live her hits That's what the real fans want to hear. That's what she did for all of 2015-2016, which you would know if you were an actual fan who kept up with her instead of a clock watcher who thinks a person should retire the second they're not 'relevant' anymore. Keep in mind that crowing about how the song is falling on iTunes already is completely contradictory to the idea that Mariah is in someone else's way by continuing to release music. Any 'new talent' who needs a 27-year music veteran releasing a one-off track to step aside to "make room" for them was already doomed to fail.

That sample does it for me and then she adds in her catchy words, she shows you how to write a good hook. Shoot, she got me feeling like I'm going through something. However, when someone gets that solo version, please hit me up if not for sale anywhere. YG is cute in the opening part (even though I would not mind Mariah did the talking opening), but again, I could do without his verse for real, for real.

This is one of JD's best productions, period. I can see why she is so loyal to him. They should both be very proud.

YG is cute in the opening part (even though I would not mind Mariah did the talking opening) It wouldn't make sense if she did the spoken verses. They're from a male perspective ("you love it when I call you Miss Carey")

THANK YOU Coco, exactly what I'm saying. There's room for everybody, but especially these living legends who have obtained longevity who are few and far between. I'll pray for these "new talents" to have the same.

Wow. This is ever more horrible than I expected. Kudos to Mariah. She finds a way to make each song even more embarrassing than the last.

Just to give perspective it already has almost 4 million views in 2 days where Infinity has 7 million views to date.

Just to give perspective it already has almost 4 million views in 2 days where Infinity has 7 million views to date. I never noticed how bad the video views for Infinity were til now, that's really bad. Then again I kinda forgot about Infinity entirely cause I swarmed myself practically in a blanket of a billion other Mariah songs. Also I can say I Don't has really grown on me now, still by all means nothing amazing but nevertheless good and catchy.

Infinity was trash daaahling. I was over the song by the time the video came. She even promoted Infinity and still it can't compete with the views this has gotten in two days. Online dating is trash so it tied well with the video. The everything you own boy you still owe line was classic doe
