I didn't see a thread for this, but "Trick Me" (a BOP and a half) came on my shuffle, and subsequently made me get back into the album. Released at the end of 2003, this was Kelis' third album overall, and second after her previous effort Wonderland was shelved in the U.S. Propelled by the smash lead single "Milkshake" and critical acclaim (including an 80 on Metacritic), the album was able to go Gold, but she was never scored another hit as big as "Milkshake" in the U.S. from this album, despite having international success with "Trick Me", "Millionaire", and "In Public".
Kelis has always had a severely underrated discography to me, and as hard as it is to pick a "best" album of hers, I'd probably choose this one. I may be slightly biased because of the nostalgic attachment I have to this (I played the whole CD out in middle school), but I feel that Kelis brought out some of the best production work of the Neptunes, much of which I think has held up quite well over time, especially considering it was released nearly 15 years ago.
