Please stick with this.
Saw Hurd as the opener for the opener for the opener at the FGL concert a couple weeks back. Did nothing to dent my optimism for his career.

This is probably my favorite song on radio. Hope it breaks out of this early slump

Too many new artists competing against each other, leading to some songs cannibalizing the others. Midland, Brett Young, Luke Combs, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, and Kane Brown are all new artists with big hits and a ton of buzz. That's a lot of new artists turning into stars or scoring big hits. Somebody is going to get left out unfortunately, especially since radio still wants to play songs from artists like Big & Rich who don't sell anything.

I agreed with everything in this post, but when I got to the part about Big & Rich, I felt my mouse headed for that thumbs-up button, lmao.

I kinda don't get the love for this one. I've heard it a couple of times on the Highway and his vocals are so rough in the chorus. I always end up changing it because I just can't listen to him straining.

I do not tend to give much importance to how good a singer is, but instead, how much I like their voices. That might be a reason of why I like this song so much. I'd easily place it in my top 10 country songs of the year <3

And the live version they play sometimes is even worse.

I wish he didn't cut his hair like that. I loved the long hair on him. I think if he were to cut it short, he should have cut it shorter?
I feel like there's no hope for this and it's so sad. Easily my favorite country song of the year. It is so fucking good.

Yeah, I was thinking I hadn't seen it charting in the 50s since about a month or so ago. I honestly wouldn't mind a repush in the new year, lol. I still think this has smash written all over it, but it had a lot of competition when it was sent, so it got lost in the shuffle.

This was always only "just there" for me. I really think to launch an artist these days the lead single HAS to be something that really, really stands out and is different. "Burning House" and "You Broke Up With Me" fit perfectly with that theory. This one, while not similar to most others on the chart, didn't stand out enough.

I really like this song and sucks to see it die.....but isn't that music video just off-topic? It's about finding love in a bar and they clearly were enjoying a weekend at the lake together and invited someone to come shoot a video while they had some time together.

City Girl would probably be a hit. I wish this guy had more songs out than just 4.

He really clicked for me after seeing him live opening for Maren Morris a week ago and I thought his voice sounded wonderful... and I was mesmerized by this music video. They're such an adorable couple, so it was really beautiful to see the video highlighting their relationship. It was stunningly shot, too.
It's a shame this didn't do better than it did. The song grew on me a lot and considering the content of it being about him falling in love with Maren, it would've been cute to see it take off and become a hit. Better luck next time, I guess.

Sad to see this is done, but I still think it was a mistake to not go with "City Girl" instead. I don't know if that one would have done better, but to me it always sounded more like a 'hit' than this one did. This is great too, but it's just not the standout that "City Girl" is imo. Maybe they can give "City Girl" a go now.
