Yes!!!! Radio please play this song and this man!
This song is incredible, so infectious and well written. Favorite thing Worsham has ever released and hope it's a smash.

Don't expect it to do much, but this is one of my favorite songs of 2017. Hope I'm wrong.

This is pretty similar to the scenario had with UMG and Chris Stapleton; where basically the title track was released to radio at nearly the same time as the album dropping. Charlie's album drops on April 21st -- 11 days after the title track impacting.
I think Warner is probably skeptical about ultimate radio success with this one. Maybe "Cut Your Groove" can at least find its way to the top 40 but dropping a single the same time as the album dropping is usually a sign of the label being aware that the radio prospects are far from guaranteed.
I LOVE this song. Some of the best lyrics I've ever heard on post-2000 Country radio...yes, that good. The production is spot-on and so is the arrangement. But those lyrics are so creative. We've heard this same relatable message in songs before but never really said like the way this song puts it. I just can't see many artists out there capable of writing songs like this, lol.

The horns in the end of this song are a pleasant surprise. It is also the most radio-friendly song out of the pre-order songs. Hopefully this sneaks in top 30.

Warner Music Nashville put this ad for "Cut Your Groove" at the top of Country Aircheck's email this evening. :)

I love this. I don't expect much at radio, but this is awesome. I can't wait to see him open for Tim & Faith in June.

"Cut Your Groove" got 8 adds on impact day. Not surprised. I love the record but I don't know if it's radio friendly. This song also has basically the same message as "Road Less Traveled" so I could see theme fatigue with radio programmers.

Wow thats a hard hit to start. Rubber band is a favorite CD of mine he is so talented. There are so many new performers trying to break in or come back (Hunter and Scotty) and its just hard to find that crack. The charts dont move A few new people catch fire. Smart lyrics aren't really appreciated especially if there is no truck beer or gals involved.

I may be crucified for saying this, but I don't get all the hype for Charlie Worsham. I don't dislike him by any means, but nothing I've heard from him has been the slightest bit interesting in my book.

I'm not shocked that this got 8 adds. This song was not even showing up on the MB Top 100 throughout the week last week, and usually that is a sign that a song will have a low amount of impact.
Given the cutthroat and clogged charts right now, I doubt this charts on Billboard unless it picks up a big station like KKBQ or something like that

This song also has basically the same message as "Road Less Traveled" so I could see theme fatigue with radio programmers. I don't think Warner realistically thought this song or any off Charlie's album would see success at radio. Sure, they gave it an add date and sent it to radio, but when the album drops less than two weeks after the lead single...that doesn't sound like a label that's ultra confident in the song's radio chances. I think they liked Worsham too much to drop him after "Want Me Too" failed to reach the top 30 and this label usually has a pretty long musical timeline for their non-star artist. I know Charlie was pretty much through recording last year but they held off until 2017, probably when they could commit to radio and album promotion. It'll be interesting to see the sales for Beginning of Things and just where his career takes him, if he has a future with Warner past this album's life cycle.

Most likely. One more reason "Please People Please" makes sense.

Most likely. One more reason "Please People Please" makes sense. I am pretty sure that no matter what the label sent off to the radio would have had a similar reaction. Maybe "Please Please Please" would have made a dozen adds. But I do believe with how long Charlie Worsham has been off radio and his music in general not sounding what works in 2017, that none of his music would have seen any real success.

Absolutely my favourite from what I heard of this new record so far, I'm specially partial to the line "A lot of the time you're gonna be on top/ But when you fall off the charts, don't let it stop you/Cause part of the charm is the crack on a pop and a hiss". However I can see radio giving this one a pass, as I don't think it's particularly catchy.

His voice sounds quite different. I don't hear as much of the Marty Roe-ness in this song that appealed to me so much on his first two singles. This one, he sounds more like a smoother Dierks Bentley.
This is exceptionally well written and produced nonetheless. I love absolutely everything about it.

It'll be interesting to see the sales for Beginning of Things and just where his career takes him, if he has a future with Warner past this album's life cycle. I posted this interview with John Esposito almost exactly a year ago where he was asked about Charlie and he said that "despite how underwater we are, Charlie will be on this record label as long as I'm running it." Obviously things can change at any time, but I think Charlie will have a home there for some time unless he wants to make a change. I feel like he's one of those artists that will always just be under the radar in terms of success and won't have a major radio hit. Anything they release to radio is basically a token release and they are more focused on the NPR crowd and whatnot with him.

While I LOVE this song, this album is a trainwreck. Rubber band is probably in my Top 10-15 albums if the past 20 years and this album probably won't be listened to again. I understand the first album was made for the mainstream and to get his name out there but this is a complete 180 degree change. I honestly don't think I have had this reaction to an album in quite a few years. The only other single worthy song is I-55 and it is pretty weak. I am highly dissapointing with this....
He is coming to Birmingham in May with Brandy Clark (not a fan) and I was going to get tickets to see him but there is nothing on this album that I would want to hear live and I doubt he would do a lot of songs from Rubberband so I am going to pass.

Unfortunately, I agree. This album sucks. Rubberband was always going to be difficult to even come close to matching since it was one of those instant classics, but this album is so disappointing. Besides "Cut Your Groove" and "I-55", there's not much worth listening to again.

Is the song "Pants" on his new album the same song that Walker Hayes released as a single several years ago?

I'm surprised by this reaction. I find his Beginning of Things album very very good. It's totally different from the first record but that's what I love about it.

In case anyone cares. This song looks to be done by the label. It was sporting a -21 bullet. Normally that doesn't sound bad but considering this song was in the 80s and lost a little over a third of its spins, yeah that probably means this song is done.
