Matthew Koma has confirmed via an Instagram Story that he is the producer of the first single, and describes the album, and his work in particular on the album to be "Country-pop." He said the music is a continuation of what she's always done.

She's said it's very different from what she's done in the past.

Until it's at radio I will remain skeptical it gets shelved. That said, if it comes, I am ready.

He said the music is a continuation of what she's always done. That's interesting because that's not how Shania has described the new music at all. She's said it's very different from what she's done in the past. I know. But the producers have said it's very "Shania." The only thing Matt said that lines up with Shania's description is that it's a "graduation" of her previous work. So, from what I understand from him, it's a country-pop record, just sort of different. One interview (I'll try and go back and find) that was done last year sometime had him saying that she really wanted to stay true to who she's been as an artist.

- "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl?"
- "I'm Alright"
- "We Got Something They Don't"
codyj100 maybe add these to the first post?

Anyone have more info on her contracting lyme disease? I didn't know about it. Nope. According to Taste Of Country, it's something she's just opening up about. Shania says there is no cure for what the disease has done to her vocal ability, although she has worked through it. Full Article

Apparently, her voice is deeper now. I'd say about an octave or so, which is normal as most artists age. However, her technique has changed between the Up! Tour and the Vegas show. I think continually singing (going right from Vegas to the RTC tour) was actually a good move. The more she sings, the more her technique becomes second nature again. As Vegas went on, her voice improved drastically. It's consistency, imo. I know she has done a lot of work (seeing vocal coaches, etc) to prepare for Stagecoach. So, we should see a very good show vocally.

Oh OK so you have seen her in Vegas? Thanks for that info. I was basing my comment off that RollingStone article that made it sound like there were issues with her voice that she had to adjust for and her voice was huskier and had different qualities so I assumed that was from Lyme Disease.

I was basing my comment off that RollingStone article that made it sound like there were issues with her voice that she had to adjust for and her voice was huskier and had different qualities so I assumed that was from Lyme Disease. Yes, twice in Vegas and once on the Rock This Country tour. (That's actually her and I in my avatar). :) I was there for opening night on December 1, 2012 and had the highest nosebleed row you could get. Her voice was weak, but she could still sing. My Mom went with me and made a comment about her voice on "You Win My Love" and said her voice sounded tired. I went back in June of 2014 and her voice sounded rejuvenated. It was as if I was seeing her back in 2003, but just an octave lower. During the Rock This Country tour, I only noticed issues toward the end of "I'm Gonna Getcha Good." She had trouble hitting the note during "oh, I'm gonna getcha..." As I said previously, she can still sing, it's different. And a welcoming different. The qualties in her voice are husky and a bit nasally (at the higher notes), but she can do things at a lower range she certainly didn't show off before. I'd say it's a payoff in a different way. She can't do certain songs ("Forever And For Always," "The Woman In Me") but she absolutely shines on songs ("I'm Outta Here!" "No One Needs To Know" and 'Quitter')

I started noticing a a slight change in her voice on the album UP! and definite difference with Party For 2, Quitter, Don't, and of course, Today's The Day. I actually was sad cause I thought, damn I don't enjoy her voice anymore. I was given new hope with the OWN Doc Series when she got with Lionel Richie because she sounded exactly like she did before, at the end of their session. I could still hear the difference during the Vegas show, and also during the Rock This Country! Tour, I saw her in Toronto..she wasn't BAD but I could tell her voice had definitely changed and couldn't do some parts of songs that she used to. I'm not counting on her sounding like her old self, I just hope I enjoy her new sound/voice.

She sounded MUCH better on those songs during the Rock This Country! Tour. But I'm with you, in that I hope her voice sounds (and the producers pushed her to sound) more like "Endless Love."

You could also really she the change in her voice in "Shoes" from the Desperate Housewives soundtrack (the last song she released that had any involvement with Mutt). Although I really like the production and her delivery on the song.

I can't even begin to imagine what a Shania song produced by Matthew Koma would sound like, but I'm totally here for it.
