No Grammy love for Now. Can’t say I’m surprised. Was released literally the day of the cut-off. My guess is her label will push it for next year's Grammy awards. Day before; I feel like 9/29 was overloaded with releases as labels wanted projects to meet the deadline. Per GoldDerby, the following was submitted: Life’s About To Get Good – ROY, SOY, Country Solo, Country Song, Video New – AOY, Country Album

Late to post it, but she absolutely killed her Grey Cup performance last weekend:

Following her killer Grey Cup halftime performance, NOW's sales have boosted 77% with the album going from #35 to #13 on the Canadian Albums Chart. Article

Has "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl?" hit any chart in Canada?
"We Got Somethin' They Don't" debut at #59 on the US Country Airplay chart at Billboard this week.

The series finale of Chelsea Handler’s Netflix talk show is the dinner party Shania filmed with Jill Scott, Wiz Khalifa and Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons; it’s streaming now.

I still enjoy this album, and I hope she continues to promote this through 2018.

I just don't understand what they did with "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed". It's the one song on the album that I thought could have decent radio success with the right promotion, only for them to film a video, have her perform it live several times, and then NOT officially release it to radio? I just don't get it. I mean, I probably wouldn't have released a song with the opening line "Summer's here, bring it on" in the fall anyway, but if that was the case it should've been the lead single (though I love LATGG) or they should have saved it for next summer.
Singles should have gone:
01. Life's About to Get Good (spring/summer '17) 02. Home Now (fall/winter '17-'18) 03. Swingin' With My Eyes Closed (spring-summer '18)
For single #4 (if they wanted to go 4 deep) they could've taken a risk and released one of the ballads - "I'm Alright", "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl" or "Soldier" would've been fine for fall-summer '18.

Id switch Swingin with We Got Something They Dont. Smassssh. Home Now is definitely single material too, I think I would have pushed that first.

I would've planned the singles like this if they had to keep LATGG as the lead
1 - Life's About To Get Good (June) - I feel like LATGG and Home Now almost could've been interchangeable 2 - Home Now (September) - instead of cancelling and switching out singles, release this one and release the video shortly after so the album has a song at radio to support the release 3 - Soldier (December) - a beautiful song for the winter season 4 - Who's Gonna Be Your Girl (March 2018) - start the year off with a beautiful music video 5 - Swingin' With My Eyes Closed (June 2018) - it makes more sense to release it in the summer. 6 - We Got Something They Don't (October 2018) - a live from tour video would go well with this song if it had been released right after the tour wrapped next year, imo.
I think six singles would suffice for this era, especially considering how much slower country songs (especially by female artists) are climbing these days.

LATGG was a bad lead, but it had a great video and didn't doom the album. It was Swinging that sunk it for good with radio...that song is a mess.
if LATGG had to be the lead, it should have been
1 LATGG 2 Home Now 3 Whose Gonna Be Your Girl 4 Let's Kiss and Makeup (Country Remix) 5 Soldier
Home Now would've been a hit as the lead single though. It is a triumphant message that she has returned after a long break and overcome the divorce and vocal struggles to be stronger than ever. But they missed out on that opportunity, because her label has no idea what they're doing this cycle.
I PRAY they can keep some buzz around her through music videos and appearances until the tour takes off. I LOVED the rap battle.

And now I hope we get a country remix of "Let's Kiss And Make Up." LATGG is still holding strong on the AC charts. It re-entered the week before last and moved up four spots this week. The flame is totally gone out of WGSTD but now would be the perfect time to release "Home Now" or "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl." Paul Boyd (director of MIFLAW, TDIMM, FTMO, YGAW, IGGG) must be a fan of the new music because he tweeted her asking to work together on the next few videos.

Just finished reading Shania's autobiography From This Moment On. Wow, what a tough and fascinating life she's led. Her story is super inspiring and gives me a much deeper appreciation of her catalog. Love how much she values the songwriting process.

Just went to her Spotify page to listen to "Home Now," and just realized that there are no new songs in her top 5. Damn.

New Australian interview: Shania talks about the #MeToo movement, that odd (but she loves it) Marylin Manson mashup, and of course the NOW World Tour. Four months after WGSTD has been released (and heading toward three weeks since it exited the charts completely) and no mention of a follow up single. If they really aren't focusing on anymore singles for this era, I would really at hope, at least that we get to hear 5 or 6 songs from NOW. At least the tour is selling well internationally and in Canada and alright in the U.S. I'd say as the dates get closer, and maybe with a bit of promo directed at the tour, sales could be boosted. (Plus the $45 price drop for Valentine's Day tickets for North America probably helped a bit).

Apparently tour production rehearsals are officially underway. The tour stage design has changed for some of the US dates as well as Australia and New Zealand. The catwalk has been removed. Instead, the main stage bows out with a B stage added in the middle of the arena. So far the US dates affected are: Tacoma, WA, Tampa, FL, Dallas, TX, New Orleans, LA, North Little Rock, AR, St. Louis, MO, Louisville, KY, Nashville, TN and Denver, CO.

The Juno's are tomorrow night (Canadian equivalent to a Grammy in the US) and word has it that Shania will not be in attendance even though she has been nominated for two awards (Album of the Year - NOW and Artist of the Year). She wasn't announced as a performer and presenter. Tour rehearsals with the band don't start until next month. I'm kind of curious why she wouldn't attend this. She's always said that an honor in her home country means so much more, so why not at least attend? I don't understand. Thoughts? I'm hoping for a genuine discussion here.

I wonder if she was offered a performance slot and declined or did they just not consider her for a performance slot? Artist and Album of the Year nominations seem like enough to make someone worthy of performing.

I know this is slightly off topic but she hasn't done any award show performances this era. She's done one-offs on talk shows/sports games but that's almost about it. You would think with her big comeback she would be booked for award shows.

I saw the Instagram picture and have to wonder why she is still planning to sing "I Ain't No Quitter" for the NOW tour. It wasn't a hit and no one even seems to like it. lol. Would rather almost any song from NOW take its place or ANY hit from TWIM, UP! or COO.
