If I recall correctly, only 3 songs have failed to crack the top 10 on the Hot 100 after hitting #1 on Pop: Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart a Break" (#16), Jojo's "Leave (Get Out)" (#14) and Jessica Simpson's "With You" (#14). I can't recall any other but I feel like I'm missing one... With the general switch to streaming and move away from "pure pop" music, I'm really surprised that we haven't had any recent examples of this. I suspect we will soon, though I think if this reaches #1 on pop this will just crack the top 10 on the hot 100 ala Scars to Your Beautiful. Yeah, Scars is the one I thought I missed. It eventually got a top 10 peak thanks to Pandora being added to the Hot 100 formula; it had stalled just outside without it.

I was hoping for a video to boost the song into top 10 but now that next single is out, I don't think it will happen
The lyric video could have easily been the proper video though.

Well at least it looks like he'll snag #1 on Pop this week. That's better than making the Top 10 on the Hot 100, imo.

That's better than making the Top 10 on the Hot 100, imo. that´s huge and never thought he will have even top 10 hit, not no 1, last Irish no 1 was 27 years ago Sinead Oconnor, there has been only few Irish no songs, last Irish no 1 written by the same artist was U2 30 years ago, last and the only pure Irish act who went to no 1 and were part of songwriting was Gilbert O´Sullivan "Alone Again" in 1972 - 45 years ago.

Poor Louis, hopefully both him and Niall can hit the top 10 before the end of the year. That way each One Direction member will have been in the top ten for at least a week this year :)

Are you not counting U2 as a pure Irish act because The Edge was born in England?

The Script have also charted with several songs, including a pop top 10 with Breakeven.
Plus that Irish wave around the turn of the century. Samantha Mumba got to #4 on pop/the Hot 100 with Gotta Tell You. B*Witched (C'est La Vie), The Corrs (Runaway, Breathless), Westlife (Swear It Again) and Boyzone (No Matter What) also found their way into the pop top 40.

Because I don't think there's a lot in general.

Am I the only person who doesn't really like this song. The lyrics are ultra cheesy and the chorus never really goes anywhere. On the other hand, I think This Town was great.

This Town was my favorite song of 2016. It's great that Slow Hands has made it to #1, but i hope they don't make him get all Sam Smithy on us from here on out. I'll check his album out for sure, at least for the centerfold.

Good for him though this song is totally boring to me as all his songs so far and must say all 1d solo songs so far except 2 by Zayn
Seeing this song hits #1 after great Attention... makes me wonder...

Moves 15-11 on the hot 100 this week. Can it just make the top-10 already? Holy cow lol Still hear this song a LOT on radio over here. I wonder if they're still letting this ride before the winter freeze and then completely focus on his 3rd single after the New Year. Did this get any sort of boost on the Hot 100 during his album release week? I forgot to check even after hearing the album went #1 on the Billboard 200.

This song already went recurrent last Sunday (on Mediabase) peaking at #1 for 2 weeks. "Too Much to Ask" should be playing more often by now.
