A solid album from Katy with some amazing highs (DH & WOA are two of my favorite Katy songs) and some meh lows (deluxe edition was unnecessary).
Roar, Legendary Lovers, Birthday, Walking On Air, Dark Horse, Ghost, and By The Grace Of God are all pop perfection.
Songs like Double Rainbow, Choose Your Battles, and Love Me aren't exactly near the top of her discography and I feel could've been left off the album. I don't even listen to the deluxe edition when I return to the album. When it comes to Katy's ballads, they're hit or miss for me.
The thing that annoyed me during this era was the singles execution. There were many misfires that shouldn't have happened. The singles should've gone: Roar, Dark Horse, Walking On Air, Birthday (w/o that horrendous music video), Legendary Lovers. I feel like this order would've ended the Prism era on a high note and set her up better when she dropped Witness. Oh well, it's still a good album that spawned two of the biggest hits of her career and two of my top personal favorites in her discography.

She could have 10 or even 11 number ones with LG and WOA...but she released Birthday and This Is How We Do instead. Alright.

This Is How We Do being selected as a single over Legendary Lovers or Walking on Air remains a crime that should be punishable in some form but what an iconic era this was to follow up Teenage Dream.

Yeah I feel like people always underestimate how successful this era was for Katy because it followed one of the biggest pop eras in history. But this album was massive, too. The s**tshow that is "This Is How We Do" still managing to peak at No. 24 is your proof, lol. Agreed with wjr15 about "Walking on Air." I remember voting for it when she did the Pepsi campaign to decide which promo single to drop first (between "Dark Horse" and "WOA"). The SNL performance lives in my head, rent free. I have the deluxe edition with the plant seeds and stickers and all. I wonder if I could plant those now sksks

The single selection was tragic, specially since audiences basically forced them to go with "Dark Horse", which was an obvious second single pick.
Release "Unconditionally" last so it doesn't hurt her momentum, swap "Birthday" and TIHWD for "Walking On Air" and "Legendary Lovers" and it would have been much bigger.
