Well screw the GP. I’d much rather him sound like this than all trendy like his peers. I hear this at work all the time and it’s really catchy. This is his lane and he should stick to it.

What are you guys talking about? He has arguably done the best out of all the 1D guys. Zayn is DOA in the US, Liam is flopping hard, Louis is nowhere to be seen and Harry ain't doing music for the charts.

^zayn has two hits and so does nial. Pillowtalk & I don’t wanna live forever vs slow hands & this town. Both there’s albums are slightly above the 200k area
Harry had a moderate hit but the best album sales (400k+)
Liam had one hit and Louie can’t catch on

Not his.

I love this song, and I am hearing it more and more now. Would love to see this organically rise. It deserves it.
It’s very late-90’s/early 2000’s.

This is the first Niall song that reeled me in. I love it so much and would MUCH prefer a sound like this then what he's been doing.

Any chance this will even Bubble Under? It might edge through as long as radio doesn't peak.

I think he and Harry know what are they doing with his careers. It's true that Harry couldn't care less about charts (a couple of radio friendly singles won't be a bad idea for the next album anyway) but he totally chaged the way he was perceived. The review of a recent concert in Spain was great and the review spend a lot of time talking about his music and not about his past or his love life (but spend quite awhile in his fashion sense). Niall seems to know what kind of music he wants to do, and even it's not trendy he was able to have hits, and even All i ask (curiously the song i liked most) was able to chart on the hot 100 without problems. In my opinion his problem now is that his suffering the Sam Smith's syndrome, the music is ok but there's a lack of uptempos and changes of rhythm in his album.
The rest, Zayn had it all to be a star, but he seems to have a messy life that is interfering in his career. Dusk till down was a big hit all over europe (USA is not the only market) and with the right song and moving his ass promoting he could be back on track without a problem.
The other two are more problematic. Liam had a hit but Strip that down is so generic that it's the kind of song that doesn't affect in the built of a career. And Louis, well Louis always was the one with worst voice, less charisma and more ready to put his foot on his mouth so i don't think nobody apart of his die hard fans expect him to do well after OD

This is a pretty good song. It would be nice if it could at least hit the top 20.

I really love this, I think it’s probably my favorite Niall single yet. It’s very funky. However, they really should do something to improve sales and streaming because at this rate, it’ll peak at radio soon if they don’t do anything about it and that’d be a shame if that happened...

Still alive at #24... +45 spins. With Dua Lipa going recurrent and Meghan Trainor crashing it should move up a bit soon. (Finesse is also going recurrent in a couple weeks but Nice for What might catch this one by then)

Finally heard this on the radio today, thanks to it being added to the On Air with Ryan Seacrest's playlist.

Why is literally every One Direction member flopping now? The hype for all of them is pretty much gone now. In 2018 they're all 2017's Zayn.

^for harry it’s just about material. If he wanted a pop smash I think he’d have one.
I think Nial will have another Chance when he launches his second Album. The third single this era slowed his momentum
No one cares about Louis. Zayn won’t promote. Liam’s a mess

Personally in my opinion, they’re more like the Backstreet Boys. The chemistry was totally there when they were all together, but solo, they’re all pretty average. I’m not saying 5th Harmony is on NSYNC/DC level, but Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, and Camila Cabello were the painfully obvious stars of those groups. One Direction/BSB didn’t really have that. Sure, I guess Nick Carter and Harry Styles were the “biggest”, but not really to the point where they completely outshined the rest of the group.

I'll never understand the whole "Camila was the star of 5H" thing. I'd say all 5 of them were pretty much on par with those background dancers Nicole Scherzinger had from 2005-2010.

I like this song a lot, but it never sounded like a big hit to me (at least not a 2018 pop radio hit). I’m also not sure I would have released anything else. His album is good but not full of radio hits.

Maybe they were the “obvious stars” because they were clearly the lead singers by the end of their tenure in their groups. That’s more of a clear lead singer vs actual group that splits vocal. That doesn’t really say much about solo potential. Zayn honestly could be big right now if he weren’t lazy af. Harry would’ve been given an even greater push if he went into traditional pop — potentially huge. Any other members would’ve been a gamble. And some played it right to some degree (Niall) and others never really had a shot (Louis).

Hasn't even bubbled under (the 25 positions under the Hot 100).
I believe it makes it the highest charting song on the MainstreaTop 40 chart that has never charted (other than the late 90s of course)

This combined with your Sassy Sandra avatar just made you my favorite person on pulse! I really don't see Niall as flopping. He has firmly established himself as a Hot AC/AC artist, kind of like how Harry has established himself as a Rock artist. I think Flicker performed successfully and set him up for further success with album 2. Liam is the one who is a flop. He's chasing pop hits and failing. Luis is truly irrelevant. I don't know what happened with Zayn.
