Kylie Minogue, fourtheenth studio album | New single produced by Sigala! After spending a joyful Kylie Christmas, and releasing a divine track for Galavant‘s TV show, Goddess of pop Kylie Minogue is back to the work. The “Aphrodite” of love has been working in the studio with frequent collaborator Guy Chambers on some new music which is expected to be included on her upcoming fourteenth studio album of her career, which arrives later this year via BMG UK. Chambers is responsible for some of her old-school gems like “Your Disco Needs You“. Remember that in her recent interview with Idolator (made by my friend Mike Wass), the singer revealed that she could work with some friends like Richard Stannard and Karen Poole. In April 2016, Kylie has been working in the studio with hitmaker Bonnie McKee and producer Cutfather, who worked within K’s global smash “Get Outta My Way” back in 2010. During a recent interview with GayTimes, Kylie has confirmed that her next pop album arrives sometime this year and she will be touring again to support it. She said: “In 2017, I’d like to make a new pop album and even think about touring again“. The first single is apparently produced by Sigala. According to a recent interview with The Sun, the producer and hitmaker confirmed: The song has a ‘Spinning Around’ vibe, and it’s influenced a lot by the nineties. It’s cool that it sounds throwback but it needs to sound modern as well to take Kylie’s career forward. Source

90s influence and working with the people who made Get Outta My Way, say no more I'm ready for the slayage Goddess Kylie is gonna bring.
Mainly since GOMW is an epic pop gem of the 2010s that was ahead of it's time.

Awesome news! I've never heard of Sigala before, but I'm excited to hear the single. I loved Get Outta My Way, so I'm glad to hear the same producer is working on her album.

Perfect Timing!
I've been stanning this woman so hard for the past few weeks. Tbh her music has been more familiar to me than let's say, Madonna's (thanks to my dad who always plays her CDs in the car) and this week, I decided to visit her hits from 80s,90s,and the 2000s and my they are fantastic! Especially for You, Better The Devil You Know, Never Too Late, Turn It Into Love, Spinning Around, CGYOOMH, Love at First Sight, I Was Gonna Cancel... So many gems ❤️
From her interviews, Kylie Minogue seems to be a really sweet woman too. Can't wait to listen to her next album as soon as it comes out!

I'm excited to hear what she comes out with. I hope I'll enjoy it as much, if not more than KMO (a very underappreciated record!).

I apologize for making everyone think I come with Kylie news. However, I hope you can forgive me and participate in the Kylie Rankdown over in the Games forum!! Unlike many other fan groups on Pulse, the Kylie fans are more subdued and in the background, so I hope you'll join us to create a nice picture of our collective opinion on Kylie's discography! pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/168459/impossible-pick-list-kylie-rankdown

Cannot wait for new Kylie! I like KMO but the album didn't age as well as her past work for me. I need her to tour the States again so I can finally get a chance to see her.

Pittsburgh has recently gotten a couple budget airlines to Europe, so I may make that my vacation next year if she doesn't tour the states.

I love that she records with a handheld mic instead of in a booth. I remember seeing that for the first time for the behind the scenes shots of the Aphrodite sessions. EDIT: Also she could be a hand model. https://www.instagram.com/p/BVwywkPlJS3

She's only ever had 2 thoroughly solid albums for me: Body Language (arguably the best pop album of the early 00s), and X (I'll give credit to Impossible Princess for its ambition, but the final product meanders inconclusively way too much), but she always comes with some great tracks for every project, not to mention the greatest treasure trove of B-sides in Pop music. She's also the rare singer who has immensely improved their singing over the years, not really unlike Diana Ross. That Abbey Road Sessions album from a few years back really showcased how much work she's put into her singing and how far she has come.
I won't have much of an interest in a record like the tepid Aphrodite, which actually came up to a sum of less than its parts, so reuniting with the people who did Get Outta My Way, aka Love At First Sight pt. ??? doesn't do much for me, but she knows her audience well.
I want a few tracks that weave in R&B influence.
I want a proper sequel to this masterpiece.
This was another gem.
If she finally uses Timebomb as a jumping point though, forget it. I'm so here.

Agree that Get Outta My Way though cute is just a reflex for her. She's proven way too many times that she pulls off the riskier stuff for me to be excited about that. But I always support Ms Minogue even when she releases things as flat as Play Me Once.

Have her albums been selling over the years? Have her singles been hits for the last few albums?

Have her albums been selling over the years? Have her singles been hits for the last few albums? Kylie's last two hits in the UK were "Timebomb" and "Into the Blue" neither hit the top 10. By last estimates, Kiss Me Once has sold around 80,000 in the UK and Kylie Christmas sold over 110,000.

So it's safe to say she has been on the decline? Is she getting the same old diva treatment that janet and Madonna get in the US?

I haven't gotten a handle on if European music markets are still more forgiving about veteran female artists. It seems to be less so than in the past, but still a bit better than the US.

Honestly it's probably more JLo (with less media exposure) than Janet. She has a ton of goodwill.

I don't think there's another true direct parallel with Kylie. People always bring up Madonna for obvious reasons, but Kylie's never had the edge or abrasiveness in her persona. She does command respect for her success and longevity, but not in the same way (no female artist really does in the exact way Madonna does). Part of it I think is that she hit the big time fame wise in AUS & the UK on TV (in a gigantic show the type of which hasn't been in the zeitgeist in English speaking countries since) and then grew in the public eye, and another is that she's never really been aloof or had a major public downturn. There's no reclusiveness, no permastain like nipplegate, no long running joke like 'crack is wack'/is she high?, etc. Her celebrity has always been intact and high, but even comparing her to JLo, Kylie's always been known for being a singer rather than a cross-multimedia mogul type figure. There's an 'accessibility' (for lack of a better term) to her that they've utilized very well over the years.

I'd love her to make something like Body Language again. Slow is brilliant and definitely my favorite song of hers.

She always comes across as very approachable in terms of her star status and not as major as some of the other divas from her era.

Someone once compared her to the sunshine in contrast to Madonna's dark aloofness, which I found very apt.
Sidenote: I would totally buy her eyewear if it were available in the states

All this Kylie talk has had me going down memory lane through her discography. It's so f**king solid. Pretty much since her self-titled she's delivered one solid album after another. Has she had albums that were better than others and some mixed efforts? Of course. But there isn't a genuine stinker in the bunch. And don't get me started on the B-sides and bonus tracks. She could make a flawless album out of those alone.
I'm always ready for her, I hope it doesn't take too long.

"I believe in you" is so heavenly to me. It's just a gorgeous song. She really does have some perfect pop gems in her discography.

I still love "All I See" after all these years, especially that acoustic rendition:
Still can't believe that was the only single from X that was pushed to U.S. radio.

I'd personally say that Light Years is pretty fu cking dreadful outside of the singles and like 2 other tracks, but aside from that and Enjoy Yourself, her other albums all fluctuate somewhere on the acceptable, but dull to the superb scale. But yes, you could weave together at least 2 or 3 albums worth of ace material from her B-sides. How did I miss this? Finally someone else recognizes her best 80s track!!!

Light Years is the album that got me into Kylie actually. That 60's, 70's throwback amalgam kitsch is f**king brilliant. I think there's only one song on it I don't care for. I completely disagree with you on X too, the back half of that album is one of the weakest spots on any of her albums post s/t. But we're definitely on the same page with Body Language. It's her best album IMO.

While we're complimenting a queen, from Let's Get to It to X she gave us an uninterrupted run of stunning album covers too.
