So, this is by no means going to be a formal review or much of a review period lol. Just wanna talk about the show for a bit.
Cam is amazing! Her music sounds incredible live and the girl sings her heart out! She has a such a powerful and beautiful voice. "Burning House" is a showstopper and the audience knows every word to it. So amazing to hear the crowd singing it and with her voice leading the way. She has amazing stage presence and is really sweet. Also, I love hearing her talk about her music and her lyrics. She has a story behind every song. Her music is very relatable lyrically. I'll always go see her show when she comes around, no matter who the main act is. Heck, I even went to an Old Dominion concert because of her lol. I wasn't able to get to her Burning House Tour, but if she ever headlines again, I am going to try my best to be there!
As for Old Dominion, I went into the concert thinking they'd be awful and that I'd hate them, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by how good they were! Most of the songs they played were at least slightly catchy, even if I didn't like them. The big surprise for me was the vocals. The lead singer has a much better voice than I thought he did, and I like the sound of his voice better live than I do on recording or recorded videos of them live. Also, they have really strong and tight harmonies. I still don't like their music though. At least not the majority of it. However, be on the lookout for one of their new songs. It's called "Not Everything's About You" and it is a really great song with EXCELLENT vocals/harmonies from them. It was the highlight of their set for me. A lot of their songs sounded better live than on recording. I was surprised at how good of a 'live' band they are. Did I adore them? No. Would I go see them again? Probably not, unless I liked the opener. Did I want to leave early? No. I stayed through "Song For Another Time" and then left. They probably did an encore, but I didn't stay for that. Not because they were bad, but because I wanted to beat the main crowd. It was a PACKED show. I have never seen the general admission area and grandstands so full at this fair before.
I also shook (or touched or whatever you want to call it lol) the lead singer's hand because he came down to the general admission section while he was singing to get 'up close and personal' with the audience. It was fun, and I appreciated the effort he and the whole band put in to delivering an engaging and entertaining performance.
Aaaaaand that's about it lol. :)
