On Monday, July 31, classic country will have a new home in Jackson, Mississippi: WHJT. (Since March 3, 2014, classic country was had by WJXN: a station owned by Flinn Broadcasting, but operated by New South Radio.) New South Radio (d/b/a The Radio People?) now owns WHJT. For 43 years, Mississippi College has owned WHJT. In March of this year, however, MC officials decided to sell the station.
