Next single from Shakira's eleventh album El Dorado called "Perro Fiel", which features Nicky Jam. The music video has been shot in Barcelona, Spain.

This feel's like literally every other Nicky Jam track, which means I'm not a huge fan but it's gonna be a hit.

My main question is:
What's she / her team going to do to take advantage of the greater opportunity for Latin sounds?
I mean, ever since Chandelier, then more with Bailando, Sorry, Cheap, and now even further with Despacito and Mi Gente, this is the perfect timing for Shakira to have a comeback in the US. I don't think PF is the best song to do so. Chantaje had more potential. Either could make it with some further twist/remix. Come on!!

Since Latin hits have an easier time now, she's going to do even less than she was doing and just ride the wave. Let's keep in mind La Bicicleta came out a year ago, the album 2 months ago, and the only major promo she did was an Apple Music ad and 2 Performances on The Voice France |

That's the best NJ has looked in a video I think... I like some of the video but her lazy dancing/yoga stretching is getting old.

Loooove this song. One of my faves on El Dorado. The music video is great too. I love that subtle throwback to the red hair, too.

Last time they tried to force her to do a full era she got pregnant to get out of it. IF they can get a hit out of her, they would need to record the song in Spain, film the video in Spain and then do no promo that involves her. If they can get a hit like that, then she'll be ok with it. But, if she has to do promo she will most likely cancel the idea. She has no interest in a comeback, and at this point Shakira's team is pretty much just letting her do whatever she wants, since they know even if they try to boss her around she will still do whatever she wants. We'll keep getting new music from her, videos and rare tours, but that's about it. |
