I hope she is doing well. Personally I don't care how she looks, as long as she keeps singing as she does, but I can understand it might be difficult to deal with that type of life altering injury, at least for a while.
About the spouse abuse, one time I had two massive bruises/injuries, one from walking into a door (true I swear) and another from falling down the stairs....I live alone, but I realised how it sounded when I spoke about it. Mike and Carrie seem to have a wonderful marriage, but we only know what's really there for the general public consumption. So I understand speculating, but sometimes a fall down the stairs is just that.
I wonder if this whole injury thing kind of delayed the new single release. I remember speculation around CMAs time, but I can't think of anything rock solid about it.

40-50 stitches is no joke! Sending her positive vibes. I'm sure she'll channel all of this into her new music and we'll get some of her best work on this new album.

There's a disconnect between the fan photo of her what?...a month after her fall?...and her blog post. Her face looks fine -- or at least there's no obvious stitches/cuts/bruising -- and even the fan said she didn't notice anything was wrong with her. I'm taking Carrie at her word but I don't quite understand why she thinks she may look different and wants to prepare her audience. I mean, if her face looked that mangled then surely there would have been some sign of it in the photo and if she was that worried about "going in front of a camera" she wouldn't be out and about where any stan could take and post a pic.
Maybe homegirl is doing a little Dolly style maintenance and wants to use this an excuse. ;)

Or maybe when she looks at herself she sees differences. Maybe it's not major or even really noticeable to us, but when there is something different about yourself YOU are going to notice it, and you assume everyone else can as well. Maybe she's being a little self conscious about what she looks like, and is preparing us even if it's the most minor thing. Everybody gets that way now and again, so she's probably there right now.

Maybe that isn't what she meant.

From that photo, the side of her face she’s clearly concealing looks swollen, at least to me. To say she’s using her injury as an excuse to have plastic surgery is just wildly offensive. After her heartfelt post to see people jump to these wildly inconsiderate conclusions is just flabbergasting - the exact reason she waited two months to even say anything at all. People are just really mean. Wow.

Her nose looks swollen to me. Anyways, I'm sure she had plastic surgery to minimize the scar from all those stitches. Nothing wrong with that.

I had 5 stitches in my face and I have a scar. 40 stitches? That’s serious.

That is probably accurate. More importantly, the point of her post was likely not to cause all this speculation but to explain her absence from the public eye and to update her fans that she will be in the studio this week. Let’s all wish her the best on her recovery and concentrate on the music.

Besides, given how badly the fall sounds, it’s entirely possible she needed cosmetic surgery. And if she ever wanted plastic surgery (lol, on what?), that’s her business, and there wouldn’t be anything wrong with that either. Sounds awful regardless. What a crazy fluke thing, but good to hear she’s recovering.

What a crazy fluke thing, but good to hear she’s recovering. To me, the "awful" part of the statement is to say she might want to use an injury as an excuse for plastic surgery. I highly doubt that Carrie would actually make an injury appear worse just to hide a cosmetic procedure. That's what seems pretty rude to say. I however wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she needed plastic surgery to fix any of the injury, I think I'd be surprised if she didn't have it for this, to be honest. Just the insinuation that she would fabricate the severity of an injury to her fans, for her own personal reasons, is wrong.

Yes, plastic surgery is a likely solution to help conceal her injuries, but to state that her injury is an excuse to have plastic surgery mainly for cosmetic reasons (a la Dolly) just comes off as insensitive. I’m sure it was meant lightly, but it still rubbed me the wrong way considering how heartfelt and truly sad Carrie seemed in her post.

I’m glad Carrie is doing okay, but I don’t really care to speciulate about what happened, considering it sounds like there were many highs & lows not related to the fall.
I’’m going to be honest, the way Carrie & Mike both came out to thank fans for their support after the fall seemed to suggest to me that something else difficult may have been going on in their lives at that time that has yet to come out.
I usually really lke this thread, but even suggesting spousal abuse over one incident is way over the line to me.
Knowing Carrie she will open up at some point, and she should be alllowed to do so on her own time. If she was impacted as deeply as her blog suggests, more should become clear by the time she’s ready for a new era.
Hopefully she has a good recovery & heals well.

While we wait on new music... here's a newly unearthed (and brilliant) dance cover of "Blown Away" that really should have her vocals on it. https%3A//soundcloud.com/lennybproductions/melissa-montgomery-blown-away-cover-2012

Curious to hear how the full recording sounds. The parts with her vocals sound underproduced, but from what we can make of the literal 8 seconds of her, it sounds pleasant and fitting.

Cute. She sounds great. Nice to hear her doing something outside the box for her. The song serves its purpose.

Those lyrics are terrible/cliche. I also think Carrie has a weird vocal affectation on the verses; it's like twang, but not. Pass.

Will this be released on iTunes!? I actually quite like it. I agree, lyrics are pretty cheesy and the vocal sounds a little out of place (like they should’ve edited her voice like she was edited on “The Fighter”), but the vocal is still great and I still really like it!

Love it. Way outside the box and even though it’s full of platitudes, it’s very fitting considering it’s meant for the SB.

Yeah, this is fully inoffensive when you go at it with the fact that it’s made specifically for the Super Bowl in mind. If this was a lead single, I’d be let down, lol. Not the case, so I don’t feel any need to go to deep into judgment since it’s a song catered specifically for a single special event.

This kind of bops. Anyone else reminded of Successica's "Irresistible"? That's a good thing!
Empowerment anthems will never be my thing, but I get the appeal. They definitely need to get this on iTunes; I can see this ending up on a lot of running playlists.
