Seeing that it has been removed, perhaps what we heard was not the finished product?

I actually like it. Given the context for which it’s made, I think it’s one of the better sports-oriented songs. Much better than “Rise” for instance.
I think she can pull off a pop record if she wanted to. Maybe they’d appreciate her there.

Seems like it was the finished product; just an unverified source getting their hands on it and leaking it before its scheduled release. The person who uploaded it was a random account. It being a Vimeo upload should’ve been warning sign #1, lol.

Other than the Miranda vocalist snubs, I think the country genre is head over heels in love with Carrie.

Yeah, this is fully inoffensive when you go at it with the fact that it’s made specifically for the Super Bowl in mind. If this was a lead single, I’d be let down, lol. Not the case, so I don’t feel any need to go to deep into judgment since it’s a song catered specifically for a single special event. Exactly, it's for an uber specific event, and not the album. I like it for what it is. Hopefully it'll hold us over until the first single for the new album arrives.

Is this song anywhere else? I missed the Vimeo one or whatever. If it is and someone could kindly point in the direction so I could give it a listen I’d greatly appreciate it.

Those lyrics are terrible/cliche. I also think Carrie has a weird vocal affectation on the verses; it's like twang, but not. Pass. There's a lot of compression on the vocals, that's for sure. Whomever produced it probably thought that made it sound more contemporary/urban.

I have no clue who/what that is?
Nevertheless, Carrie isn’t playing anymore, clearly. Go, Carrie, make those big moves!!!

What does this mean overall? She wasn't with a PR firm before? What exactly does a PR firm do?

Yeah I’m interested to know what this actually means? Will a different entity be handling her social media and that kind of stuff?

PR = public relations. This includes folks who assist in managing her press releases and any major announcements, crisis control and management, etc. They collaborate with her management for her bookings at events, they work with her marketing team to ensure her presence in the media (all forms, including social/digital) are consistent with her presence elsewhere, etc. She’s had PR her entire career; this is just a new company. It’s also a strong one, at that.
Brad Cafarelli is the Vice Chairman of the company. His personal clientele include Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Whoopi Goldberg, Jessica Alba, and many others. The company is a merger of two formerly individual ones — PMK/HBH (talent publicity) and BNC (brand PR). The company’s historical roster, both pre- and post-merger, includes Barbara Walters, Robert Downey Jr., Naomi Campbell, Emma Stone, Ben Platt, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Robert Redford, Kristen Bell, Lorde, Patty Jenkins, Seth MacFarlane, etc.
She’ll be in good hands. It also says a lot that this is coming out at the same time as news of her stitches continues to circulate. Shows that she has a stable and committed team (tying into a new and stable record deal), and it also shows that news of this next cycle may start rolling out during this quarter or next. Bringing on a PR team and announcing the signing means news is coming down the pipeline that they’ll need to start preparing to handle.

Jessie Schmidt was her former publicist. This is probably the first sign of a global push for the next album. Schmidt Relations is a boutique PR firm that caters exclusively to the country community. PMK*BNC has far greater outreach. Also worth noting that legend Cindi Berger is CEO.

Anybody know how the RIAA certifies songs for Gold or Platinum status? Does the label submit the request? I’m curious if Smoke Break will be updated to Platinum status or not since Carrie is no longer with Sony.

I'm surprised no one here is talking about Wendy Williams saying that Carrie is using the fall as an excuse for a face lift of some other type of cosmetic surgery.
