5 is Nick Cave. It's something off of Skeleton Tree. I'm not sure what song, though..."Girl in Amber"?
30...Fleet Foxes, maybe?
16 is god damn Future Islands - "Seasons"!
Want to say 18 (19, wtf) is Sigur Rós, though I'm not sure how they and Kanye connect.
3 is a song by The Flaming Lips. It just clicked with me. They constantly do stuff with Miley.

Do we get anything for guessing songs? Regardless I'll make a few guesses:
11: Total Entertainment Forever 14: Light? This is probably too obvious tho. 21: Feel It Still? Or maybe a AAA band that is getting success on Alt now too. 25: The System Only Lives in Total Darkness, since this was recently a huuuggge hit on your chart? 26: Paranoid Android? Probably a stretch tho. 28: 1901 (or maybe 1979, the former is a lot more indie tho)
A few of these clues are incredibly vague and can be so many different songs, idk how we are supposed to get some of these haha.

Holy crap, this rankdown is going to be nuts to rank. Legitimately some of my favorite songs of all time have already been revealed.
I think 12 is "Midnight City".
I would GUESS that 13 is "Life Itself" by Glass Animals, though I'm not sure about that.
18 is Bon Iver's "Holocene". How did I not get this before? Kanye link, indie rankdown...lord.

I don't think so, but James as in Maynard James Keenan and H., another song off that same album, as well as Daryl's hint that the song is close but not actually the title of the album? Fits all of the descriptors to me. Except the indie part.

2. "All the Rage Back Home" - Interpol? El Pintor...I loved that damn album, and I just now realized that the album title was an anagram. I'm terrible. 3 is "Sunrise" by The Flaming Lips. I listened to that for something on Pulse, and I can't remember for the life of me what it was, but that's how I remembered it.

More hints! Those striked ones have been guessed correctly. 1. Eric Church, Marina City, Religion. This is from an artist in the 2016 AAA rankdown. The parent album was released in 2001. (Jesus, etc.) 2. Police, Was in a past rankdown, A certain feeling. This is from an album name which is an anagram of the band name. The artist is signed to Matador Records and the singer had a side-project with a rapper and released an album last year. (All the Rage Back Home) 3. The Impossible Quiz, Miley Cyrus, Sun. (I think these hints are sufficient. The first hint should be a giveaway for those who finished the game) 4. In a rankdown that's accepting submissions as of this post. The album received a Grammy award in 2011, and the artist was in the 2012-2015 alternative rankdowns. You guys were close with this one, this should be a give-away since they have two songs on the rankdown I'm referring to.) 5. Ovingdean Gap, Australia, Death. (Girl in Amber) 6. Artist name is a name of a movie, An act of violence. From a self-titled album. This album came out in 2014 and is by a female singer. The movie also came out in 2014. The director of the movie had bigger box office success with his next movie. 7. Short, Zebra. Jack White. A staple on alternative radio, but not as much as their breakout hit. (Fell in Love with a Girl) 8. James, H.. The name of the song is related to the name of the album, but the names are different. Green Baron actually guessed this song earlier, but he got the song number wrong. 9. Adolescence, Vehicle. (Drunk Drivers) 10. A state, a ________ anthem. (Bloodbuzz Ohio) 11. Taylor Swift, Fleet Foxes. (Total Entertainment Forever) 12. Was in a recently finished rankdown. One of Pitchfork's top songs of 2010-2014. (Midnight City) 13. Arcade Fire, Animals. Artist received their highest charting alternative single in 2016. This artist also went top 10 (I think top 5 as well) on AAA but that song didn't chart on Alt. 14. Ellie Goulding, was also in a past rankdown. The artist had a song that missed the top 10 on Alternative this year. This artist appeared in the 2013-2015 rankdowns. 15. Liver cancer, a certain shape. (Blackstar) 16. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. (Seasons) 17. 9 minutes, dirt-free. This artist re-united with an upcoming album out next month. This song was in what was supposed to be their final album. Also praised by Pitchfork in their album review. 18. Kanye West, We Bought a Zoo. From a self-titled album and I used it in a rock tournament. (Holocene) 19. Cinema Spy. Artist is in another rankdown open for submissions now, but is not the same song. The first word of the initial hint references the artist name, the second references the song title. 20. Good morning! (Wake Up) 21. This artist broke out only this year, but had several charters on a certain chart before. It is on a 2011 album, and is the only song to get the explicit label there. (Sleep Forever) 22. This artist was in a past rankdown, but the song is different. Song name has a type of gun, and is on their first album with Columbia Records. The parent album was released in 2012, and the singer also had a side-project with Danger Mouse. 23. Hannah Montana, Twilight. (Hannah Hunt) 24. Little Bend. Their 2014 album (song is NOT from there) was one of the best reviewed albums of the year. This is from an upcoming album, but is not the radio single. The song is pretty long. (Thinking of a Place) 25. Currently on the charts now. Band name is a form of utensil. (Can I Sit Next to You) 26. Disappointment, Laptop. Is said to be one of the band's best songs. You guys got the album where it's from right, but you guessed the wrong song. (Let Down) 27. Management. Only song on an album to receive an explicit label. (Time to Pretend) 28. A certain year. (1901) 29. Was in a past rankdown as well and made the top 20 there. Band name is related to animals, and the band is from the UK. Again you guys guessed the artist name right but not the correct song. Pollen, it's one of your guesses. 30. From a Best Folk Album-Nominated album. (Helplessness Blues)
