Kristine has been in the studio recording vocals for a remake of the Diana Ross classic "The Boss." This was produced by Junior Vasquez.
This is scheduled to be premiered this Sunday at Cielo.

I have heard a bit of this and I really loved it. It took me a few seconds to realize what I was listening to. When the vocals started, I was like, "this sounds very familiar... wait a minute...it's Kristine W!"
I wish it was a little more darker. But it's cool. It was hard and tribal, just as I knew it would be. It sounds like Fumi worked on this one.
It's going to feel like eternity waiting for this to be released. But it's worth waiting for. :)

LOL... i think those 2 versions were released like one after the other. i am not big MAW fan (so vocal about it... that ALL my friend know that. LOL.) but their work on the braxtons track was HAWT! (at least from what i can recall of it. LOL.) i recall hearing (and loving) junior's take on mizz ross as well.

According to a MySpace bulletin on his well, MySpace, Wayne G has listed that he has done a remix of "The Boss." No further information about when a possible release might occur has been provided.

Yes, the Braxtons version was sooo hot!! Masters At Work did a fantastic job with that...too bad it was never released on a CD maxi... The Braxtons "The Boss" [Atlantic Records / WEA UK 0 7567 85441-2 5] UK CD Maxi Single, released March 24, 1997 1. Kenlou Radio Mix 4:16 2. Kenlou Mix 9:03 3. Masters At Work Album Mix 9:40 4. Masters At Work Dub 7:15 5. Reprise 6:12 Debuted and peaked at No. 31. Amazing production from Masters At Work... it has that "mutant disco" vibe: classic disco with modern house music. If you enjoy this one, also seek NuYorican Soul feat. India "Runaway", Masters At Work feat. India "To Be With You", and India & NuYorican Soul's "I Love The Nightlife (Disco 'Round)". This IS HOW HOUSE MUSIC SHOULD BE, and not just countless remixes of the latest hip hop crap single by Beyoatchce, Justina Timberfake and the rest.

This IS HOW HOUSE MUSIC SHOULD BE Those ones are amazing! "Runaway" is a sublime cover of the Salsoul Orchestra and Loleatta Holloway's "Runaway." "To Be In Love" was just so perfect in its original 1997 version. The Album Version on that India Megamix CD is a nice short, concise version of the epic 12 minute main mix. The 1999 updated mix was nice too. A little faster, but the overall vibe was the same. Similar sounds. "I Love The Nightlife" was also a cover of the Alicia Bridges disco classic.

i can hardly hear kristine singing in this song I really had to EQ it when I did my reconstruction to make it sound better. But I felt that the version Junior played that one time had not been properly mastered and stuff.

There's additional mixes of this by Tracy Young, The Perry Twins and Jamie J. Sanchez. Still no word on a release date.
The Jamie J. Sanchez Club Mix (9:22) is pretty good. It's much harder than Junior's take. The synths are great. The vocals sound similar to the ones used in Junior's mix, however, there's a bunch of ad-libs and other vocals not used in the other one or we didn't get to hear them since only like 3.5 minutes were played. This would make for scorching dub.

eeeh the jamie j sanchez mix is ok to me....sometimes he really blows a song out of the water, and others are just mediocre.

im liking jamie j's mix, but i think his mix of "letting go" was better. i feel like it's hard to hear kristine's vocals in this mix

There are additional mixes by Johnny Vicious and Paul Goodyear.
The Paul Goodyear Radio Edit (4:36) has a bit more energy than the others. The beat could be a little harder, but it's tastefully done. The drummy parts during some of the instrumental parts are nice though.

^^ I've liked Paul Goodyear's mix (9:35) for a while, but I think Jamie Sanchez's is better -- still waiting to hear the Vicious mix.

I am hungry for new music from Kristine W!!! I checked Hex Hector's website and found out he mixed two KW songs recently. "The Power Of Music" Kristine W "Be Alright" Kristine W
Now we have The Boss as well. Hope these three songs can be released as maxi-singles.

The new mixes are decent. Tracy's really reminds me of the one Junior did of Diana Ross' take on it during the Earth/Sound Factory 2 period. It sounds like Joe Carrano did the programming on this one. It's a lot more energetic and synthy. The one with Junior back in the day was a lot more minimal. There are similarities in some places though. Love To Infinity's is classic-sounding, as expected. It fits the song much better than a full on circuit production would, but the circuit one works.

This is a different sound for Tracy, but it doesn't work for me. I wish it was more along the lines of "Edge of 17"

Hey moranfan, is that cd the same as that on perfectbeat? CDR or silver disc? If it's CDR, i am not going to get it.

yeah i used to buy them just because i wanted to have a song that badly, but now i have prett much stopped. i just removed a bunch of songs from my discogs wantlist from junior vasquez music because all his releases seem to be cdr(and the kind with that cheap material where the ink runs if you touch it even a tad more than gently)

I heard from my colleagues that those CDR promos are burnt from mp3 files. That's another reason I stopped buying them.
