Can't let my...somewhat "lukewarm" feelings on the ending of this rankdown get in the way of congratulating you on a rankdown well hosted, Crap.
Great job, and here's to the 2006 NC's.

I just want to say thank you all for participating. This was perhaps my favorite RD I hosted. With all my roasts and wisecracks, and yet, the nostalgia this year brought on me. The nostalgia will always be with me, better than any piece of s### 2016 brought.
If you want more 2006 action, do my NC RD. Until then, see you in 2005, or with our winner, Furtado.

So I guess no one actually tanked "Hips Don't Lie" but it's just that "Promiscuous" had more votes in the upper ranges (top 20) than HDL and it seems like that's what made the difference. 2 perfect rankings in the end to wrap it up! Couldn't be any better way to finish this rankdown. "Promiscuous" is so great (more like the whole Loose era is), I'm glad it won. It was #4 on the Decade-End rankdown so I thought it had a shot but I seemed to hear more positive comments about "Hips Don't Lie" so I had thought that that one would win. Thanks for hosting!!! Was actually 9 on Decade Rankdown. Oops I didn't remember it correctly then! Thanks for catching that!

I just wanna give credit where its due.
You improved a lot in Rankdown hosting. Honestly in 2011 you were all over the place making mistakes often and stuff. Same with Timberlake Rankdown. You were way more organized and prepared for this one, so props and keep it up!
Ill participate in Nelly Furtado and 06 Non Charting soon!

I like how the title of this song reflects the fact that this rankdown has ended. Thanks for hosting! On a side note, I want to apologize to everyone for ranting so much earlier. I was very frustrated, but I may have taken it too far. I don't want to bring that kind of negative attention upon myself and cause trouble like that. I need to be like the quieter guys on here who don't post much (like I was when I first joined a few months ago), lol.

Also I am worried about aero.... 2 Rankdowns are holding up cause of him. 02 Flashback and 90s Rankdown. And I hope that 99 Rankdown will start soon too. And then Demi Lovato is also holding up and Dua Lipa is also stuck in Mid Reveals. Eurovision also holding up.
Thats like 8 Rankdowns stuck and incomplete now.

Predictable top 2, I think both songs are good but not top 2 worthy at all. Sad to see JoJo and Gorillaz eliminated before the top 5. Thanks for hosting Crap! even though I didn't participate it was really fun to follow it.

f**k me. rooting for Crazy but idgaf at this point with Chasing Cars and Feel Good Inc out. Finally, that Jojo song has been my lowest remaining song for far too long! Not bad (my #40), and I like her, but as a song this is not that solid. This is more 'generic' than other stuff that left before it, like: Feel Good Inc and Hung Up, my two top 5 losses. Both are superb songs. And I don't do the analysis of where year they were popular or released or any shit like that in this type of RD... Also surprised that My Love beat SB. SB was unique and still sounds fresh now. Repetitiveness is not genericness btw (?) Appreciate the explanation of the hate to Chasing... I understand but don't like it when burnout affects the appreciation of a song. That's not the song's fault in the end. Certainly deserved top 10. SOS number 11? Lmao. Again. Not bad (my #29) but the production sounds amateurish and messy and lacking flow, and Rihanna sounds constipated, and the sample use could never be better than Hung Up's sample (wth??!!) Still left: 1, 2, 5, 8, 9 Quite good performance overall

Not the correct order but my top 2 was the top 2, so I'm fine with these results :)
Promiscuous is a terrific track (as most of that album was). I'm still confused and searching for an explanation on how she managed to tank her career so badly after that album though. Minus her Spanish album, it's been flop after flop after flop...
Hips Don't Lie isn't even Shakira's best song (it's either La Tortura or any of the Donde Estan Los Ladrones? singles, you can't go wrong with any of those) but it was such a huge moment for her, and it's still a pretty fun track.

Ayyy, my #2 made top five. I'll be disappointed by the rest of the results, but at least there's that. I'm pretty sure we have the same #2

I was a bit late, oh well
Thanks for hosting Crap!...I've never hosted a rankdown (although I do an annual Best Of Rock year end countdown, which has slightly different rules)
I have an idea for a rankdown that I'd like to host...do I need to register my rankdown or do I just start it up?

Happy with the top 2, as they were my top 2 as well :) Of course, my vote was for Shakira, not only because I love her, but also because it was a fun song and one of few purely latin-sounding #1s ever --and yes, she did that!! Plus the fact that it samples the riff of one of the best salsa songs ever, and includes Colombian sound in the bridge, plus her hip-shaking moves in the video, it was all a deserving hit for Shaki! Of course she has better songs, but this was A MOMENT. Thanks for hosting Crap!! I couldn't follow the final reveals close enough, but I can see you did a great job :)

I'm definitely planning to do this one since Nelly Furtado/Justin Timberlake were great in 2006/2007. "Maneater" is so great. The 1-2-3 punch of "Promiscuous", "Maneater", and "Say It Right" is one of the best I've ever seen. I love all of them so much. Didn't "Maneater" get its run cut short in the US by "Say It Right"? Sorry for the bump. Maneater was doing really well on digital sales (think it peaked at #9), and was just getting started on radio (#85 on airplay) before it got pulled for Say It Right. Not sure why, maybe they thought Say It Right would be a winter hit.
