I'm working on it. You'll get my list till deadline i promise (but probably not much earlier). I listened to entire album a couple of times but I'm not sure about my rankings just yet. I have one question - chorus of Always Be This Way reminds me of another song but i can't figured it out which song is it. Do you maybe know? :)

I'm just messing with you, because I figured you were one of the ones who wanted to participate Regarding "Always Be This Way", I can't think of any country songs that resemble it... But it's possible it sounds like something islandy from another genre, like something from Jack Johnson or Colbie Caillat? I don't know! I'm pretty useless if I step too far away from the country genre

Well I will send you my list close to deadline - there is a lot of great songs on Eleven album.

castleoblivion26, I started that discussion the other day because one of the songs I was hoping to show up for this rankdown wasn't revealed yet; the song I was eyeballing did show up just now.

Looking forward to the reveal next month! I really liked the way this was rolled out and allowed me to be almost (somewhat) complete with my rankdown by the time the final songs were announced. I also wanted to double check that we are still doing a top 10 for songs that were not included on this list? So far I have the following songs and want to make sure they aren't going to be on the 1999 rankdown:
"If I Lost You" - Travis Tritt "Dance the Night Away" - The Mavericks "There's Only You" - Kevin Sharp "Wherever You Are" - Mark Chesnutt "Honky Tonk America" - Sammy Kershaw "I Wanna Remember This" - Linda Davis "While You Sleep" - Tracy Lawrence
That's just a partial list but were some more of the modest hits from that year.

Honestly if a song was released in 1998 then you can vote for it, I'll probably end up spotlighting songs from the 1999 Rankdown throughout this one because it could fit in both, so vote for what you want to see here but if it was a big hit and could fit in either year know that it is most likely in the 1999 one. If it is a lesser known hit then it may not be. If you want to send a list of more than 10 songs also you are allowed to, while I will only count your votes for your top 10 I may use the additional songs as other songs to spotlight. Plus you can also vote on albums that you feel people should pay attention to that came out that year. Glad you liked the rollout, wanted to try something different with this and it seems it went over well. Will probably do it slightly different next time while also mainly doing the same thing (if that makes any sense). Cannot wait to start getting ranks in and seeing what people think of these songs!

God I'm redoing my list because I looked at my results for the one I did as they were revealed and I hated it lol
I love most of these and I'm having such a hard time. Which is a good problem to have I guess. :)

There are so many confounded rankdowns happening and I don't even know if I'll be able to send in a list for all of them. I can do a less-than-half-hearted attempt at it, but I would deeply regret doing that. Mabye I can ask for a weekend off? Feels like I'm at work all the time.

I am moving Sept 30th but the new house I'm moving into won't be ready til the end of the month of Oct so that could delay things a lot which might mean no internet for a while. Hopefully not though. As of right now count on then being the deadline but I could easily extend the deadline if people need it. If you want to participate I want you to be able to so if you need a little bit extra time and it is within reason I can give you the time!

1998 is probably my favourite year in country music. So many great songs! I will try and have this done today.

I finished my list, but I'm going to hang onto it for a little bit before submitting. I can't believe that my #11 and #12 aren't in my top 10, but I really don't know what I would bump out to put them in. I needed like 30 top 10 spots, lol. What a strong year.

I ran into that problem as well. I like too many songs from this year. Definitely interested to see how this plays out!

I'll have mine done soon too! I mostly kept up with the reveals, so I just have the last 25 songs to listen to and rank (Of course I already know at least half of them! But I'll still listen anyway).

I just might be able to handle this type of rankdown. Just starting with what I'm familiar with and finding more that I didn't think I knew (e.g. "26 Cents", "In a Chevy", "The Hole", "I Wanna Feel That Way Again", "The Note", etc.) and going from there. I hope to get this done by the end of the week, if not some time next week. Don't really have a favorite year from this decade, but pretty solid set of songs. May end up loving my projected top 50 like I love my puppy dogs and not caring much for the rest.

I have not done an update on this or tag people to remind them but you all still have time. If anyone needs more time I definitely can delay! I have gotten 1 list so far!

Now digging into Garth's songs, here's a random thought: people have always recommended that I check out that show Lost and I've always kept dodging it for something else. Does anyone know if it's still on Netflix? I heard they were removing some shows I had bookmarked for later this month (Bones being one of them, but I pre-ordered the complete series before hand).

Not sure what this has to do with Garth (lol) but I just started Lost last month! I haven't watched in weeks because all my shows have come back on but it was there not too long ago. I really am digging it so far.

I really am digging it so far. One of the YouTube links has a compilation of scenes from Lost with Garth Brooks' "She's Gonna Make It" playing in the background. Making this list is getting pretty hard to do; some of my favorites are ending up in the lower half of my list and I'm not really liking it. I think most of my top 40 so far will stay put, but I keep getting distracted by the impact (and subsequent overplay in my neck of the woods) of certain songs on this list. If I leave said songs where they're at now, I'd get so much hate for doing such a thing. I know that it's my list based on my thoughts, but still...

It was a great show in the beginning and while I definitely liked the show for the most part all the way through the ending was a bit lackluster. I've actually wanted to sit and rewatch the series but haven't had time

I remember liking the first season of Lost, but then at some point in the second season it got weird and I stopped watching it. It might be worth re-visiting though.
