This is a little something I want to start: Personal Reviews of songs from Rankdowns I couldn't participate in because they were before my time I didn't really show thus far but I'm actually a fan of Maroon 5's music which is why for the first part of this series I'll be doing their discography - or at least all of their songs that charted on the Hot 100 - making it a list of 27 songs. There are 4 groups: 0 - bad 1 - I can stand this 2 - like 3 - love
Depending on in which group the song is it gets different points The goal is for the songs to reach a score of 54 (that would mean on average I like the whole discography) I think my picks are very unpopular but well
Like #27, the instruments on this just annoy me. Probably too rocky for my taste? Adam sounds awful on this and that breathing sounds creeps me out way too much. Well, for a first single - nice try I guess?
Well, this is kind of beautiful. I really like the guitars in this one as they're more calm. Still, I'm almost falling asleep listening to Adam singing the same melody over and over again for 5 minutes. It's not bad but I've heard better from them.
The chord progression on this song is very good! I also like its vibe but somehow Adam's vocals get me off - especially in the chorus and that ruins the song for me a lot. The bridge is killing it, though!

Yes - I don't like 'Sugar'. I like its overall vibe and the verses are very great. But - that falsetto. Just no... If it was more of that it would easily be my least favorite from them. But overall it's ok.
Same as with 'Makes Me Wonder', the pre-chorus of this is extremely great! And a lot of others elements are good as well like some of the production. Still, there is missing something to make it very good.
But but but Makes Me Wonder is such a good song . Looking forward to the rest of this list.
Zach's Weekly Top 5 (November 10, 2017): 1. Walk the Moon - ONE FOOT 2. Marshmello ft. Khalid - SILENCE 3. Sam Smith - TOO GOOD AT GOODBYES 4. Portugal. The Man - LIVE IN THE MOMENT 5. Lorde ft. Khalid, Post Malone, SZA - HOMEMADE DYNAMITE
Ok, time for some more upsetting reveals - but this time some songs that are generally disliked leave. (Also: This is my personal opinion and I do have very different taste )
20. Wipe Your Eyes
The instrumental is so different yet I still like it a lot! The chorus is also catchy but my biggest problem with this (and main reason it's not in the 'like'-section) is that falsetto effect in the background. ow - soo annoying. Don't do falsettos, please. I just never come back to this song.
19. This Summer('s Gonna Hurt (Like A motherf**ker)) (I've never seen a song with three different possible titles lol)
Ok, now let's have a VERY unpopular opinion. I like 'This Summer'! Its overall vibe is great, I'm grooving all song long and I like the bridge a lot! The chorus is catchy also I can see people complaining about it. The drums on this are heavy and i love that about it! Yet, there are little portions of this song that do annoy me a lot (i.e. falsetto again...)
More unpopular opinions! 'Don't Wanna Know' is catchy and that repetition of words in the chorus is awesome. The tropical vibe is very good and makes me vibe along. I even like the pre-chorus although there is some falsetto in there. The worst part are the verses. Surprisingly, I even like Kendrick on this!
These guitars are awesome! I'm normally not a fan of these types of baselines but the chorus makes up for that! The groove is addicting and probably the best album track from 'Hands All Over' (their worst album overall in my opinion).

'Cold' has a great vibe and the production overall is very good. The chorus is catchy and Adam sounds good on this vocally. I just hoped it would be going somewhere - I feel like this just doesn't start properly. And Future is awful on this.

#27. Give A Little More #26. Harder To Breathe #25. Come Away To The Water #24. Sunday Morning #23. Sugar #22. Makes Me Wonder #21 Wake Up Call #20. Wipe Your Eyes #19. This Summer #18. Don't Wanna Know #17. Stutter #16. Cold
This is very catchy. The guitars in this are amazingly used and the beat is addicting. I really like the instrumentation of this song and the verses are amazing as well. The only negativity with this song is... well Adam#s falsetto again (and these howls ew).

Talking about catchy songs. I know lyrically it's very cheesy and it's basically a rip-off off 'Sexual' - but i love that song so I'm ok with that. That bassline - wow! Also SZA sounds so great on this - and overall they just harmonize a lot. That chorus should be a bit more - it just doesn't hit its deserving punch. This is pure Pop.

This already starts amazing! The instrumentation is very great as it's so calm and relaxing. Adam also sounds good on this - especially the brige sells this song. Yet, it's the chorus that doesn't make me rank this higher - the way he says the title and the 'ooo's don't do it for me.
Wow. I like this song a lot! The guitars sound great and the whole production pairs amazingly with Adam's voice. Well, as with every song that isn't in the love category there is a little flaw: The melody. it's good and I like it but I hoped there would be more to it especially in the chorus.
That whistle - addicting. That bassline - addicting. That groove - addicting. The production pretty much makes this song good. But it just has too little punch. And the 'Moves like jagger' part is awful. The rest of the chorus is also only 'ok'. And Christina's verse is not good - her chorus additions though, are! Just misses the Top 10 by a bit.
