At best, Midland will debut at #2 on the country albums chart behind Thomas Rhett.

^Interestingly, no Macklemore nor Kevin Gates numbers yet. Yeah, Mack is #2 on iTunes so I'm shocked to not see him here. Sad for Fergie though.

Those are terrible numbers for Lecrae. His last LP did 90,000ish. His surprise-drop mixtape last year did similar numbers to the new album.

Wasn't her last album a pretty big letdown in terms of opening sales? And I don't think she'd have gotten any kind of boost between then and now. She's made (and probably still makes, but I haven't listened to her much recently) good music, wish she'd had just a bit more success.

Now Macklemore's album showing as number 1 on itunes ( but The Killers non deluxe version is higher on the charts than Macklemore's one). I wonder why we don't have any numbers on this yet.

^Given that both Lil Uzi Vert's and XXXtentacion's are both expected to be in the top 10 with less than 1k in pure sales, I wonder if Views ever accomplished that.

I am absolutely STUNNED at those Killers numbers but beyond happy because they are my 3rd favorite band in the world and they deserve it. They worked hard and put out (pardon the groaner) killer songs in advance of the release.

Surprisingly, Kevin Gates' mixtape debuted at #100 in the Billboard 200 and #63 in Top Album Sales. I guess numbers were somehow reported for early in spite of having a September 22 release date.

I don't follow charts much anymore. I just saw that Hits Daily Double's chart now builds from Tuesday to Friday. It used to be from Monday to Tuesday. The album sales week used to be Monday through Sunday. Is it still Monday through Sunday? Why did Hits Daily Double change? Hits Daily Double used to have an archive of their album charts going back to 2000. Is that still online?

The new chart week is Friday-Thursday. That archive has been gone a long time. HITS uses Buzz Angle figures now. before they used SoundScan numbers through a label.

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=308667Friday, September 29, 2017 A WONDERFUL CHART STORYAnother rock set tops the charts, marking the fifth album from the land of guitars to do so this year. The Killers’ Wonderful Wonderful debuts at #1 on our Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart this week with 115k. The Island band’s success follows that of Roswell/RCA’s Foo Fighters, who landed with a strong 130k last week. Macklemore’s GEMINI (Bendo/Warner Bros.) bows at #2 with 48k, Kevin Gates’ By Any Means 2 (Bread Winners’ Association/Atlantic) comes in at #4 with 41k and Jhene Aiko’s Trip (Def Jam) appears at #5 with 37k. The Top 10's other bow is Lecrae’s All Things Work Together (Reach/Columbia) at #9 with 31k. Further down the chart, G Herbo’s Humble Beast (Machine Entertainment) and Fergie’s Double Dutchess (Dutchess Music/BMG) land at #16 and #18 with 21k and 20k, respectively. As for the week’s most-noteworthy movers, those would be KIDinaKORNER/Interscope's Imagine Dragons (#7, up 30%) and Republic's Post Malone (#8 +29%), as their tracks blow the hell up. Now let’s take a look at that SPS marketshare: UMG is #1 with 42%, WMG is #2 with 28% and SME is #3 with 27%; the indies conjure up 3%.

Hmm Joanne didn't make the top 50 in sales even though it was top ten on iTunes for almost the whole week. The album sales on iTunes in general must be very low.

It changed because album releases comes out on Friday now worldwide to cut down on piracy. Were albums in other countries released on Fridays when they were released on Tuesdays here? Who decided to change the day here? Did the RIAA get involved? Is there anything stopping different record companies from releasing albums on different days if they wanted to?
