Incredible to think the album would outsell The Truth About Love in this day and age, even with the ticket bundle involved with the newer one... That one sold 281k in the first week five years ago.

He's pretty close to the Adele star level on the UK. It's actually very strange that the UK has a bigger opening week than the US overall with 672k vs 603k

I don’t mean to start anything but it’s to be expected, Ed is British and they (British) always patronize their own It's the third biggest opening ever in that market (in March of all times, versus August and November releases for Oasis and Adele respectively), it's more than just "expected." Emeli Sandé went just short of 8x Platinum there with her debut, and the follow up didn't crack 50k in first week sales even though it was released in Q4.

I know you were kidding but just for the sake of fun: 672k is 1% of the UK's population which is IMPRESSIVE! To put this in perspective 603k only represents 0.18% of the US's population.

^Yeah. Those artists had splashy debut albums, but quickly lost relevance after that.

Her consistency is astounding considering she keeps such a low profile.

P!nk has amazing numbers. No surprise here. She has a very loyal fanbase. I'm glad she's still around.

Which, by the way, is the equivalent of 3.307 million in the US, just below what Adele's 25 opened up with in the US. So the idea that Ed Sheeran is as big in the UK as Adele is here is pretty damn accurate based on that stat alone!

^Taking a look at future releases, I'd expect reputation, From a Room: Vol. 2 (or the full album if that's what charts) and What Makes You Country to easily add to that list. Others that should join them possibly are Blake Shelton's, Maroon 5's, Sam Smith's (that 11/3 week ought to be exciting) and Evanescence's new albums. Finally, if Eminem release something, he would make it as well for sure.

Pink is the definition of slow and steady winning the race. There was never a moment where she was THE biggest thing in pop music (like Britney or Taylor or Adele or Katy etc) but has she always done well...with one exception. After she was able to rebound from "Try This" I knew she had a long career in front of her. Good for her.

Holy shit. I forgot about the bundle but that’s still tremendous. I thought maybe she was gonna do 100k and mahbe 150 with the bundle. Insane.
