reputation can easily cross those numbers as well as the streaming+sales I'd say. That's almost a given and it should easily become the first million selling album this year. If it performs like the 3 past albums, it'll be the first million selling album in just a week!

I'm on the fence if Taylor Swift can pull off another million selling week. I know she can do it. She'll kill with the streaming, though.

She's back on Spotify so I expect her actual album sales to be lower than the previous albums but they might match 1989's with the streams included. Too early to call I guess.

yes, streaming will detract from album sales.
Another thing to consider, the current batch of singles, although still really successful, by comparison to prior albums are not exactly burning up the charts.
#1 debut sure. Sales #'s of historic proportions? Doubt it

Look What You Made Me Do had three weeks at #1 or course. You also have ...Ready For It? If there is a better single, it is not out yet. These are the advance tracks that consumers will base whether or not they go out to the stores in droves to break established sales records. Taylor Swift has hit 1 million sales before sure, but now the market has changed. Streaming will erode sales numbers and people are not as excited about the advance singles as they were in the past This suggests big numbers for sure but nothing record-breaking. (in other words, 6 figures .... not 7)

Taylor is very mysterious about her schedule, I think we'll have to wait to know if she'll get 6 or 7 figures.

^Taking a look at future releases, I'd expect reputation, From a Room: Vol. 2 (or the full album if that's what charts) and What Makes You Country to easily add to that list. Others that should join them possibly are Blake Shelton's, Maroon 5's, Sam Smith's (that 11/3 week ought to be exciting) and Evanescence's new albums. Finally, if Eminem release something, he would make it as well for sure. Evanescence? They will be lucky to hit 20k. lol Eminem will easily move 500k+ I'm not quite sure if Taylor will hit 1m again in the first week, but she has a shot I guess.

We also don't know if her new album will be on Spotify at all, or any subscription services, at least for a time. Just because her old stuff is, doesn't mean her new album will be. They might do a tiered release schedule though, such as only having it available to paying subscribers for a couple months, and then release it unrestricted to all streaming services. This would be a wise choice for them if they want to maximize album sales, as keeping off streaming has worked for her in the past. Times have changed though since her last album in 2014 with streaming getting ever huger and she might not be able to pull that off this time, but we shall see.

Yeah I could see Reputation not going to streaming just yet. Maybe just like 25, she'll just release singles there then nearly a year later the full album
Say what you want about Taylor's music and personality but she is a savvy business woman

I get the feeling that Taylor's first week will be in the ballpark of 700-800k, maybe around 600k at the lowest. She's still got a huge fanbase, but these first couple singles seemed to alienate quite a few people. The switch to streaming probably won't be an issue for her, since she's got people willing to stream her music as well, judging by LWYMMD's first week of streaming.

Just the singles makes sense for H100 purposes.

I wouldn't be so sure. Ready for It wasn't an official single until a week or so ago, but it's been there since day one. I think the days of Taylor withholding from streaming are over.

True, but I'm sure they wanted to get a Top 10 H100 hit outta RFI and that's the only way to do it. As a premium subscriber, it would be nice if some music was exclusive behind the paywall for a short window. My days of owning music - except for rare/OOP or limited editions - ended this year. Anyone who has seen my vinyl and CD collection wouldn't believe I just said that.

Great numbers for Pink. Hopefully it manages to clear 1m sales when all is said and done.
I think 700k-ish for reputation. Sales have completely collapsed since 1989's release, so a drop is almost mandatory for her.

Sales have completely collapsed since 1989's release, so a drop is almost mandatory for her. That's just a "little" above Kendrick's 600k. I don't think she can go from 1.3m to 700k but I do think matching 1989's numbers will be very difficult.

Miley's sales completely went to crap after a similar amount of years, and Demi Lovato could only match her last album numbers once you added streaming. It's not apples to apples, as Demi was never a huge seller and Miley's had no big hits for a while now... but even a very modest 30% drop from 1989's numbers still gets her to 910k. P!nk is improving but she's always been more of a long-run seller than a huge opening kind of seller (like Bruno Mars opening low-ish and still outselling most people in the end).
I'd love to see her break 1m though. Just like when Adele did amazing numbers with 25, it's fun to see how at least someone can still move units.

It would be absolutely fantastic to see anyone break 1 million in pure album sales again in their debut week, but I really don't think anyone will do it again any time soon, TS included. Honestly, I could see the next single-week million-seller-opening being whatever Adele's follow-up to 25 is. That album release will absolutely be a cultural event, just as 25's was.

I feel like all 1989 fans are still there though, I think reputation's sales will be completely determined by the 2nd single and how many people from the GP she can get to buy her album with the next song. But even if the next single's performance is stellar I still can't see 1.3m happening..
