The propensity for dance music to be unidentifiable is greater than that of other genres, simply because artists themselves and the sheer volume of remixes of popular dance tracks are numerous, faceless, or just plain hard to track down. I suggest here that we start a sticky thread to clear up confusion. We can post lyrics and mp3 samples and try to answer any questions as to song titles or remixes in this thread.
What’s the consensus on this? I think it’ll clean up the thread a fair bit. However, if you think people won’t check it, or that it will detract attention, I’m fine with that too. If feedback is positive, can the mods create a sticky for us?

I remember responding to this one saying it's a good idea, but anyway, I like the idea.
If you'd like one of the staff members to sticky this, you'll have to PM one of them. And proposing the use of this thread to be added to the rules would require a similar approach.

At first I thought you meant fake ID's to get into clubs...No mp3 trading is permitted on Pulse - yet selling fake IDs to high schoolers and young College students is?
I came here for my fake ID (I WANT to go clubbing, I WANT to see R-Rated Movies)...I guess taht's not going to happen..
LOL - I'm kidding.

It's stickied, but I'm not going to make any hard and fast rules about using it. We'll see how the reaction is.

This is great! We created a topic for it a while back, but it was never a 'sticky'. It lasted a couple of weeks and then faded away. This should help!

OK, I'm victim to my own thread.
At like 1:30am last night, KTU had some mixshow going, and the song was basically extremely retro-Nintendo-esque sounding. It would do its own thing for a while, and then would go into U2's "New Year's Day." (It wasn't Musique vs. U2. It sounded like it was recorded on someone's 1987 Casio, only it was really awesome.) After NYD, it would go back into its own beat thing.
Any ideas?

I have one: I heard a dance remake of the old Jets song, "You Got It All". Any ideas who that might be?

Yes, it was a female. I heard it played in Abercrombie & Fitch last week.

Does anyone know the song that plays on the Progressive Commercial. It has the lyrics "This is how life should be"

I heard this on Energy 101.1 last night. I was driving so I couldn't write down any lyrics. The only thing I could pick up was this song mentioned 'catastrophe' and 'music plays on and on.' It has weird synthesizer effects. I recognize it as one of the jingles Rick Dees plays on his shows. What song is this?

I used to hear this in the clubs in Milan last year, though I think it's older than that. It's a black female vocalist (I believe) that to me sounded like Sylver Logan Sharp but I guess was not her....and the lyrics are, "I'mmm accciiidddtteeennnd, SO ADDIcitedddd

Heard this on XM - BPM (channel 81) at the gym today...and I've heard it for a while now, but have NEVER figured out who it is.
It's a male voice and the chorus sings something about "children in the sky". And there's some whistling, which sounds really cool. The whistling is the part that I really dig, actually. Anyone?

I did a little sticky cleanup on the dance board (figuring everyone knows the rules at this point) so hopefully more people will find this thread as it's the only sticky at the top of the page now.

I check on this site everyday, and never noticed this sticky thread lol.
I posted this a few weeks back, even stating we need a sticky thread.
Anyway, I was listening to KTU on my drive home, (on Tuesday May 23rd) and I heard (in the 9p mixshow thing they do) at about 9:26, what sounded like a Benny Benassi mix to that old school song "sugar, awww honey honey, you are my candy girl, and you've got me wanting you." Has anyone heard this or know what the version is?... original vocals are still there.

I've got one.
Was listening to KNHC yesterday, and heard a dance cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way." Anybody got any idea who did this cover?

I am trying to find the artist of a dance cover of the song "Shhh". The song has been done by Prince & Tevin Campbell; however, this is another cover and its a lot more dance. Its a guy singing it. :) Any ideas? Oh and for this dance ID ... Has anyone heard this or know what the version is?... original vocals are still there. I think the track might be Beatfactory & Massiv 4 ... they did a cover of this track in 2005 in that Benassi style. Check it out - not sure if its the one you heard.
