With Flicker, the debut album by former One Directioner Niall Horan, joined by the surprise set from Future & Young Thug among this week's major new releases, here's how things are looking based on very early reads. Stay tuned for updates. Niall Horan (Capitol) 150-160k SPS, 120-130k album Future & Young Thug (Freebandz/Epic) 85-110k, 20-30k Chris Young (RCA Nashville) 32-39k, 28-32k Darius Rucker (Capitol Nashville) 27-32k, 22-26k Pentatonix (RCA) 10-15k, 8-12k ( HDD)

Great numbers of Niall. I can see the album selling quite well in the long run thanks to "Slow Hands" doing really well and still climbing up the AC chart. Plus "Too Much To Ask" is off to a great start.
Interested to see how big P!nk's decrease is, hopefully not too steep.

Future and Young Thug would be in the race more, if, you know, they actually promoted the album

How are Future’s numbers so high? The project is not doing much at all on Spotify. Is he getting insane Apple Music streams?

So, no mention of Keyshia Cole? YIKES!
I wonder what her numbers will end up being.

^Her album is currently below Pentatonix's in iTunes, so worse than their album. Neither would be in the top 20 would be my guess.

Fantastic for Nial. I was really hoping for 100k So this is great. I think the long multi single campaign payed off huge for him. He debut has a decent chance of outselling Zayns in the long run

Yeah 8 of the songs are in the top 10 on Apple Music. What kind of Hot 100 impact are you expecting? More than half for sure given the SPS prediction (so 7+ I suppose), but it'll be a bit easier to tell after the update for today on Spotify, because sometimes songs increase significantly after the first day, while others fall. Only Patek Water is in the top 200 on iTunes, so for some the points will be exclusively from streaming.

The third 1D'er to debut at #1. This has to be a record regarding ex music groups that have disbanded right? Did all ex Beatles members (or at least the first three) debut at #1 with their first solo records?

He debut has a decent chance of outselling Zayns in the long run I wouldn't be surprised, since Niall actually gets off his ass and works to promote his music. Meanwhile, Dusk Till Dawn is a worldwide smash, and Zayn ain't doing shit to promote it. He tried to Beyonce it after one hit single. A MESS.

Did all ex Beatles members (or at least the first three) debut at #1 with their first solo records? Albums did not debut at #1 during that time. Elton John was the first to do it in the mid-70s. These are the ex-Beatles #1 albums: Paul McCartney: McCartney Red Rose Speedway (with Wings) Band on the Run (Wings) Venus and Mars (Wings) Wings at the Speed of Sound Wings Over America Tug of War John Lennon: Imagine Walls and Bridges Double Fantasy George Harrison: All Things Must Pass Living in the Material World Ringo Starr reached #2 in 1973 with his album Ringo.

^The Pentatonix release is a deluxe version of last year's Christmas album. It will scan over 1 million copies in November.

This is nothing special Prior to Soundscan FOUR albums is total debuted at #1 (Elton John (2), Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen) So t he Beatles had 4 albums debut at #1 but none until the 90s After 1991 it became rare for a #1 album to NOT debut at #1

But those two HIGHLY anticipated albums show how huge a record had to be then to debut on top.

How is it even possible for only 4 albums to have debuted at #1 before 1991? I thought that Beatlemania alone would result in more #1 albums than that with their insane fanbase.

Got it wrong, it was actually 6 Two from Elton John 1 each from Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson Albums were not counted at point of sale prior to 1991 like they are now They were counted by sales charts that stores across the country contributed. Obviously not accurate. This would result in a slow build up to #1 rather than a debut at #1, no actual numbers were known. Closest thing you had was RIAA when an album reached platinum (based on shipments to stores) Now that numbers are known, the sales model of an album has shifted to be more front loaded. How much can you get first week

As compared to other bundle acts - small drop for P!nk Only position-wise because she started so strong. Percentage-wise it's ~-88% which is close to average I think?

And sold more unbundled than the others (140K I think) - so the drop is normal actually without the bundles
