OMG this group of 5 got me SOOOOO excited. I know The Carpenters are not considered "country", but that is one of the most country songs you will ever here!

I was getting real worried because so many of these songs are so awesome, but then this last set gave us a Garth song and Kenny's island Christmas and now I feel better because I have some easy last place contenders now :)

Ah, I'm just now seeing this thread and now I guess I need to scrap the country day from my 12 Rankdowns of Christmas? There's not 100% overlap (yet) but even if I picked completely different songs, it might feel redundant.

There will undoubtedly be lots of people who participate in your Christmas series that will not participate in this one. So even if there is some overlap, the results could be completely different

My list only has 20 songs in it and so far just nine of those are in castle's list (with a few others being mentioned in-thread). Hopefully the songs that haven't been mentioned here aren't too off kilter, but hey, I like 'em lol. And yeah, it will be interesting to see how different the results might be!

So glad to see "Little Wood Guitar" make the cut. It's one of my favourite original Christmas songs of all time.

I would be glad to participate in yours also, I like the idea of a smaller one and due to it being smaller a lot more people might consider doing it compared to mine since it is so much larger. Excited to see the list of songs that you choose I will be posting some more songs tonight at some point

Glad to see "Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)" in the rankdown as it's one of my favorite Christmas songs. Vince Gill's first Christmas album Let There Be Peace On Earth is one I always listen to every year.
I'm not familiar with "If You Believe" by Alicia Elliot nor did I know there was a sequel to the movie Prancer...it's only one of my all time favorite Christmas movies lol π

Will reveal which one from his first later though. As for Prancer Returns. I saw it years ago and it really wasn't that great, the original is great though but I personally love "If You Believe" and had to include it

Yay, what a great set! I've been crossing my fingers for Reba's "Up On the Housetop", Jo Dee's "Noel", and Chris' "Under The Weather", and here they all are at once!!!

So glad to see "Up On The Housetop". That's such a rare Christmas song, and Reba's version of it is fantastic.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I've always enjoyed Taylor Swift's 2007 version of "Santa Baby" over Kellie's, even though I like Pickler's version, as well.

Ya know, you usually have better taste than this [img src="http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif" src="http://images.proboards.com/tongue.gif" class="smile" alt=" "] Kellieβs sexy sultry take on Santa Baby is exactly how the song is supposed to be sung. Itβs a seductive song. So when little baby 15-year-old Taylor with her whiny voice try to take on this song, itβs the living embodiment of the grinch actually stealing Christmas.

I understand the song is supposed to be delivered the way Kellie delivered it but Taylor's was fun and lighthearted...it was refreshing to me and even though she was "17" when she sang it, her delivery was exactly what a 17-year old should have sung it like. I thought the breezy, upbeat nature fit her style and was a nice choice.

"Santa Baby" is literally the only Christmas song we hear from Kellie Pickler. When I heard she did "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", I was so stoked to hear that on the radio, but never got to. Guess I'll have to stream it.
