Oh, wow I thought people LOVED Polar Express. Clearly I was wrong.

Oh, wow I thought people LOVED Polar Express. Clearly I was wrong. I did too...but then it only fell to the bottom of my list just b/c everything else is more 'classic'/things I remember hearing as a child. I'm thinking that is what brought WCCTT down for other people as well.

The Muppets song is cute but doesen't play too well outside of the context of Muppets' Christmas Carol (which is really saying a lot because most of these don't really work as standalone songs).

I have no shame in admitting I didn't like virtually any of these. But I made a commitment to participate in all 12 soooooo...

I love Frosty, and I admittedly should have ranked it higher. When I was a kid, Frosty The Snowman was one of my favorite Christmas specials, and I loved singing this. I guess as I got older I kind of gravitated to other specials, but I still adore this nonetheless.

I'm also not American. That would have to be a factor; culturally speaking, a lot of these weren't part of my upbringing. :sip2:

Again, I should have ranked this higher, it's a classic Christmas staple. This goes along the same with Frosty, I adored Rudolph when I was younger.

See above comment about most of the songs not working well outside of the context of their respective shows/films.

Honorable mention at the halfway point
I don't know if anyone other than I or my sister remembers this, but we used to watch this every year and it still gives me the feels. I think we have it on VHS, even. A should-be classic that I never see mentioned anywhere.
(tl;dr synopsis: an orphanage of children are having the most awful Christmas ever when an old man walks by, hears their cries from outside, and takes it upon himself to play Santa and save the day)

Our #5 song of the day had the highest standard deviation. It received the most #1 ranks of any song (three), but was sunk by a #10 and two #9 ranks. I'm judging all three of these people for this

This is a forgotten gem. I think it's because we mostly are so entrenched in more beloved classics. It's like most of the pre-war era specials that were released got swept under the rug.

This is a national treasure and y'all did it so dirty! Vince Guaraldi is a legend on the piano, and this deserved that top spot. When I think of animated Christmas specials Charlie Brown is my go-to and this is the anthem I will play all season long if I wanted to.

The Chipmunks Song did better than I expected on all metrics. It's usually pretty polarizing.

This was a #1 hit in 1958, the very first year of the Hot 100. This is higher than Linus & Lucy, Rudolph The Rednose Reindeer and Frosty The Snowman. We let a chipmunk song be higher than that. I am so disappointed at you people.

Oh no smh, my #1 ranking for this song was based on the version from the live-action movie, it was the first one that came up when I searched the song on YouTube. And Cynthia never got around to putting together the playlists with the required versions...
