Oh no smh, my #1 ranking for this song was based on the version from the live-action movie, it was the first one that came up when I searched the song on YouTube. And Cynthia never got around to putting together the playlists with the required versions...shhhhhhhhhhhhhh stop reminding people that I got lazy I don't think you were the only one?

SCICTT is another classic that I like, but it just missed my top 5, because of better songs.

The top two songs both have bottom rankings so either way someone is not gonna be happy lol. Will A Charlie Brown Christmas avenge Linus and Lucy's untimely exit, or did the Grinch steal Christmas yet again?

I love this song more than words can express, and it's only my #2.
1 vs. 3, so I'm okay with either winning, but 1 is one of my favorite Christmas songs, so, obviously, I'm rooting for it to top this rankdown.

I knew the Grinch would win, but I'm not all that mad. I do like it, but again Charlie Brown is better for me, and Vince Guaraldi is one of my favorite composers of all time. It would have been nice to see Charlie Brown win, but honestly this wasn't a shock at all, and I'm fine with it.

Well (at least for this first rankdown) it wasn't as much I was unfamiliar with the stuff - I'll grant you I didn't know the Charlie Brown songs going in - but I just don't have the same sentimental attachment to the rest of the songs so for me they were just mediocre/underwhelming recordings of songs I'm already not particularly fond of.

I TOTALLY forgot about it. What's today's deadline? sorry I'm just now seeing this! Deadline is technically the day before a particular rankdown will be revealed, but if you want to do today's rankdown and can shoot me a list by 5 pm CST, I'll accept it!

It's not really Christmas-y like the others, but my favorite song from Rudolph is "There's Always Tomorrow."

It's not really Christmas-y like the others, but my favorite song from Rudolph is "There's Always Tomorrow." My favorite has always been "A Holly Jolly Christmas", but I really like that one and "Silver and Gold", too. Those are the three I tend to listen to every Christmas...even if, as you mentioned, "There's Always Tomorrow" isn't really a Christmas song.

Surprised Keyshia came last. Also, sorry to be polar opposites with you on The Temptations, Cynthia, but that version hurt my ears (and I already had a headache at the time).

I knew the Temptations would not fare well in this but I'm still salty anyway lol. AIWFCIY may be the official hallmarker of the season now, but till the day I die it will not officially be Christmas to me until I hear The Temptations' Silent Night on the radio. All Mariah/Kelly stanning takes a backseat on this one.
Standard deviation was off the charts with the #1/#16 extremes.

You can tell who the black participants are in this rankdown Az Paynter I do get it (obviously strongly disagree); it's the crazy high falsetto to super bass contrast that makes it a classic in r&b but restricts its appeal anywhere outside of that. Theirs is the only version that even uses falsetto, now that I think about it. Much, much higher range than everyone else's.

Not unhappy with any of these losses so far. I don't remember Keshia's version very well, but obviously I must not have liked it too much.
The Three Tenors were simply awful. I can understand the appeal of opera in certain contexts, but they totally ruined a Christmas classic with their robust vowels, nonexistent consonants, and old lady vibratos.
The Temptations' song was musically interesting, but too damn long. Like, literally, no version of "Silent Night" should EVER exceed 3 1/2 minutes.
Xtina's version was pretty good. Her voice was especially beautiful in the beginning! Unfortunately she could not maintain that charade until the end, as her version also made the mistake of being way too long. This is about 800x better than her abomination of "The Christmas Song", I'll give her that!

I LOVE Demi Lovato, and enjoy almost everything by her, so I was especially let down by her version of this song... She butchered it Also, the way she moves her mouth is VERY distracting, so she might have ranked a little bit higher if I hadn't been watching the video while ranking. Lol!
