I'm a little surprised to see "Why Lady Why" leaving now. I thought it would be a case where I was the lowest ranker simply because it kept getting shoved down even though I liked it quite a bit.

I'm a bit surprised about "Why Lady Why" as well...again, they are all about the romance...it worked out, it didn't work out...
Oh, and if we're 'going across country'...better not be Roll On...tells a great story.

Yeah I definitely think that is just a hint that is supposed to mislead us into thinking of "Roll On"... No WAY that song leaves us in the bottom half!! Edit: Wait a minute, "When It All Goes South" is still in??!?!??! That's gonna be my guess for the hint. Because the South IS "across country" from us

Wait a minute, "When It All Goes South" is still in??!?!??! Patience my friend, patience...
47. Christmas in DixieTotal Points: 364 Average Rank: 40.4444 Standard Deviation: 19.3204 Billboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 35 someguy - 12 bboat11 - 17 castleoblivion26 - 27 LBTrocks - 34 Cody Wants Out... - 40 tim - 50 DistrictTwelve - 60 mamasaid - 61 gardyfan - 63 Following: Kanenrá:ke I could've said more, but that would've spoiled it... Oh well. Maybe next time! Here we encounter the loser of the first of three ties in this rankdown; #46 has two top tens, including a top five. Unfortunately, someguy loses yet another top twenty placement, which is also a top 15, and bboat11 loses another one of his top 20 entries. Two bottom fives leave us at this point also. Given the reputation that Christmas songs have in artist RDs, I think this outperformed most people's expectations; then again, other cases had a smaller amount of songs represented. Still, this almost escaped the bottom 20, which I think is fairly impressive.
A clue for #46...

I'm not upset to see "Christmas In Dixie" to go here because it is a Christmas song and is not my favorite Christmas song from them ("A Candle In The Window" holds that honor). Would have been cool to see it make it further than the Bottom 20 though, glad it did this good though.

A guaranteed rat race remedy...46. T.L.C. A.S.A.P.Total Points: 364 Average Rank: 40.44444 Standard Deviation: 22.2829 Billboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 7 LBTrocks - 4 castleoblivion26 - 6 gardyfan - 34 someguy - 39 bboat11 - 49 Cody Wants Out... - 51 tim - 55 DistrictTwelve - 63 mamasaid - 63 Following: Kanenrá:keWe close out the bottom 20 portion of this rankdown with acronyms! The ones that even common folk can understand! LBTrocks loses his first top 5 and castleoblivion26 loses his first top 10, which is also a near top-5. Sadly, most of us early birds determined it's fate early on as it was heading to be bottom 10, and even bottom 5, before our two top ten placers knocked it out of both, with LBTrocks almost knocking it out of the bottom 20. I think this is cute and all, but I see it burning fast on me.

TLCASAP would probably do better now than it did the first time around...I've never been impressed...I think Alabama is better than this.

Her and I, man we felt so right...*ahem* it's actually... 45. She & ITotal Points: 362 Average Rank: 40.2222 Standard Deviation: 24.51927 ( 2nd HIGHEST!) Billboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 1 tim - 3 DistrictTwelve - 4 someguy - 23 gardyfan - 43 castleoblivion26 - 44 bboat11 - 57 mamasaid - 62 Cody Wants Out... - 63 LBTrocks - 63 Following: Kanenrá:ke I think I lose my final bottom five here; unfortunately, it's at the cost of tim 's first top 3 loss and DistrictTwelve 's second top 5 loss. The four bottom tens, with most of them bottom fives, pretty much killed it. Now do y'all see why I lncluded country music's axis of evil mentioned above? Oh yeah, I forgot my valued opinion on this song: it's okay, but the vocal processing and excessive drums annoy the living heck out of me.

Get yourself some Rebel pride...44. When It All Goes SouthTotal Points: 356 Average Rank: 39.555556 Standard Deviation: 21.51808 Billboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 15 LBTrocks - 14 DistrictTwelve - 17 castleoblivion26 - 22 gardyfan - 26 Cody Wants Out... - 31 tim - 57 mamasaid - 59 bboat11 - 65 someguy - 65 Following: Kanenrá:ke Yeah...I don't think their final top 20 hit was that bad, but I can see why. This was almost destined for the bottom 15, but the two top twenties from LBTrocks and DistrictTwelve saved it from leaving so soon. Rebel is actually the name of one of my dogs (German Shepherd and Lab. Ret. mix) and I should've made a video of him scratching his belly with the carpet; he is one of the most adorable 'big lugs' I've ever had. Don't be surprised if I use my beagle, Hunter, as a clue for one of my future rankdowns.

Not surprised to see "She and I" out already considering it's one of their older hits from the mid 80's. I've been a fan of this song since I first discovered Alabama when I was younger and still like to listen to it to this day.
"When It All Goes South" isn't a bad song per se and is actually a good jam for what it is, but Alabama's overall discography is just must stronger than this song IMO.

I cannot believe that "When It All Goes South" was so well-liked... I found the song to be a hot mess. Alabama has definitely overdone the Southern Pride thing through the years, but this was by far the most unnecessary addition to that theme.

Alabama has definitely overdone the Southern Pride thing through the years, but this was by far the most unnecessary addition to that theme. Me too. I remember at the time too there was even a backlash over it because people found the lyrics to be racist. I don't remember specifics, but I think that kind of ended their radio career (not that it wasn't already waning by that point). I tried to find some articles online, but only found Amazon reviews that alluded to it.

I definitely overranked "When It All Goes South" and am okay with it going here. I was actually shocked when I saw I ranked it at 22 so I must have missed that one when going over my list the last few times to make sure I was happy with it. Oh well, interested to see what is next

The radio career (spanning the better part of two decades) was about over, so why not do whatever you want...the song is not remotely racist...there are folks who can find fault with the way the wind blows.
It's about simplifying your life...actually quite similar in theme to Darius Rucker's "Southern State of Mind"

Next, someone loses their first top 10, which is a first for them. I missed her first steps, her first words...43. In PicturesTotal Points: 345 Average Rank: 38.3333 Standard Deviation: 15.88238 Billboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 4 someguy - 8 gardyfan - 21 DistrictTwelve - 33 castleoblivion26 - 34 tim - 46 bboat11 - 47 mamasaid - 48 Cody Wants Out... - 50 LBTrocks - 58 Following: Kanenrá:ke...and someguy loses his first top ten with this elimination, while gardyfan has a near top-20 loss here. On the opposite end of the spectrum, LBTrocks loses another bottom ten and I lose a bottom twenty. I appreciate the sentiment behind this song, despite me not having any children yet (I know, get on it Cody!). Unfortunately, it got lost in the shuffle for me and I prefer several others to it honestly.

I luckily have enough time to get us to the top 40 tonight. Does anyone wanna guess what two songs will miss it? Here are some facts about these two: - One of them was a #1 hit. - A total of four top 20s will get chopped down, including a top 10. - If anyone asks if I'm one of those people, you're sadly mistaken. My time will come soon enough, though. - We also encounter another tie! #41 represents the loser in this case. tim mamasaid bboat11 castleoblivion26 gardyfan Kanenrá:ke LBTrocks someguy DistrictTwelve
