p-p-perfect ranking for Matt Bomer! Sorry but that cover was becky af. It's not that Bomer himself is super becky, but it would be like Britney trying to cover Adina Howard's Freak Like Me. You have to pick the songs that cater to your strengths. Bomer's brand of sex appeal is more suited to a Wicked Games type of vibe than Untitled, IMO. Hated the Battaglia song. Maybe the only song I outright hated, now that I think about it. Untitled was just cringe-worthy, but everything else was at least ok. I'm actually not surprised in the least by your ranking for Matt lmao, since it's a white cover of a black song (D'Angelo). I just picked this one over 'Heaven' because it's the cover I prefer out of the two Magic Mike songs (and I wasn't touching the Glee songs lmao).

"Do you know that I won't sleep No I won't sleep all night long As your silhouette turns its back on my spoon I'm mesmerized by the ricochet moon Leaping this leprechaun's wall, I'm so disenchanting Intoxicated by my own tear's soul And come tomorrow when my beauty is old Like a speckled princess I'll try to cash in clovers for gold"It’s because of Rent and Wicked that I know Idina, and because I was so late to the party (and I don’t think it was ever released here) I had to buy an imported copy of her 1998 debut album ‘Still I Can’t Be Still’ off eBay. I’m not sure why this song song resonated so much with me but it’s my favourite off the album - which is a pretty off-the-wall pop-rock record actually (unlike the more adult contemporary leaning of her post-Frozen work). I guess this being as ‘weird’ as it is made it a pretty easy target for early elimination.{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #16 Disco - #11 DistrictTwelve - #10 Wheatsquares33 - #14 Aerodynamite - #16 Disassociative - #13 James - #17 Az (After Edits) - #17 Preds Pride - #20 Leo - #21 Cynthia - #21 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. I would have ranked Heaven several spots higher.

Lol I'd have liked Bomer to be higher too (actually IDK whether to be surprised the other Matt did better).
For the record James, you and Cynthia are off to the best start - both of you ditched four of your bottom five in this first set.

Been a few days but I'm ready to post the next set of five~ Coming up with #20: GAME PROGRESSION: 12-5-12-10-14-17-19-18-17-20-20 STANDARD DEVIATION: 6.945022198 AVERAGE RANKING: 15.3 This song has two top 10's (including our highest ranking yet - our first top 3) and two bottom 5's as well. Someone is starting out this set right, because their #25 is about to take a hike. As you can see it made the top 5 quite early on, but with a lot of middling rankings it hung around the middle a lot until lower rankings in the second half pushed it down toward the bottom end.

"I can remember the pain My river of red that would eventually stain me Now it’s your turn to swim Open your latitude line, let me in"I’d heard of Casey Stratton before, because this song and ‘House Of Jupiter’ had dance remixes by Junior Vasquez - but I didn’t check out any of Casey’s music until I heard his song ‘Violet Room’ in an episode of one-season-flop ‘Tarzan’ (starring Travis Fimmel, Lucy Lawless and a pre-Gossip Girl Leighton Meester). After that I checked out Casey’s album ‘Standing On The Edge’ that this song came from, and I liked the album (and the Junior Vasquez remixes of ‘Blood’ and ‘House Of Jupiter’ mentioned above). I figured Casey’s voice might be an acquired taste though, so I’m not too surprised it ended up low.{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #12 Disco - #5 DistrictTwelve - #12 Wheatsquares33 - #10 Aerodynamite - #14 Disassociative - #17 James - #19 Az (After Edits) - #18 Preds Pride - #17 Leo - #20 Cynthia - #20 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. Coming up with #19: GAME PROGRESSION: 21-22-25-21-21-20-20-19-19-18-19 STANDARD DEVIATION: 5.400617249 (3RD LOWEST SD) AVERAGE RANKING: 14.5 This next song has three top 10's, although none of them are a top 5. Every other ranking was in the bottom half, with two bottom 5 ranks (although barely). This song didn't really go anywhere throughout the submission period, so it's not much of an achievement for it to have escaped the bottom 5.

"There’s nothing on TV, the static hurts my eyes And everything I’m told turns out to be a lie I’m trying to find a reason, trying to stay alive There’s nothing I can do, there isn’t any time"Here we come to the first loss of an Aussie entry; the Cassette Kids formed in Sydney back in 2007, with their debut album ‘Nothing On TV’ released in 2010. I liked their single ‘Spin’, so I checked out the album. It’s been a few years and I hardly remember it, maybe it’ll leave more of an impression if I revisit it. This song, however - the album’s title track stuck with me. It wound up being fodder for the bottom end of my list, and it seems I was right not to expect a whole lot out of this, since it never really managed to go anywhere.{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #21 Disco - 22 DistrictTwelve - #25 Wheatsquares33 - #21 Aerodynamite - #21 Disassociative - #20 James - #20 Az (After Edits) - #19 Preds Pride - #19 Leo - #18 Cynthia - #19 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. This song got a raw deal in the second half of submissions, dragging it a long way down from the top 10 where it spent half of its time.

"This is my skin, these are my scars And this world may never be ours But I promise you truth, ‘cause that’s all there is This is my heart, these are my scars This is my skin"Two Aussie songs in a row, and this one I’m a little gutted by. Luke is a classically-trained tenor who was the runner-up on The Voice of Australia in its second season. He hasn’t gone down the classical crossover route with his music, as you can hear from this song. It’s the title track of the EP it comes from, and while I don’t care as much for the EP as a whole, this song is simply beautiful. What saddens me is that this spent the first half of the game in the top 10 and then the low rankings came in a tanked it.{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #3 Disco - #10 DistrictTwelve - #5 Wheatsquares33 - #6 Aerodynamite - #10 Disassociative - #18 James - #18 Az (After Edits) - #20 Preds Pride - #21 Leo - #17 Cynthia - #18 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. Coming up with #17: GAME PROGRESSION: 15-14-22-13-6-11-12-12-10-15-17 STANDARD DEVIATION: 7.6223356 AVERAGE RANKING: 14.1 This song ended up with a higher SD because of two top 3 rankings verses three bottom 5 rankings. It spent most of the game in the middle of the pack, but the last two lists dragged it down to its final resting place after it almost went top 10. This is a song I was particularly curious to see what people did with it; some ranks I expected, others I didn't so much.

"What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I torturing myself? Fixated on these memories Like a prisoner inside a cell"I think I actually heard of Celldweller because of Pulse lol, I recall someone posting their top 100 of a year (I think it was their top 100 of 2009?) and Celldweller was on it. It may even have been this song, IDK - but I listened to a couple of his songs and liked them (yes, his - Celldweller is a one-man project). I really like the rock-meets-heavy-electronica style cultivated on this song and the album (‘Wish Upon A Blackstar’) and it was a toss-up between this and ‘Louder Than Words’ as to what song to include. I chose this one because I wanted to see what people would do with the drum-and-bass rhythms. It was interesting to see it go top 10 on two separate occasions and it would’ve been cool and unexpected if it had managed to stay there (or finish there).{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #15 Disco - #14 DistrictTwelve - #22 Wheatsquares33 - #13 Aerodynamite - #6 Disassociative - #11 James - #12 Az (After Edits) - #12 Preds Pride - #10 Leo - #15 Cynthia - #17 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. Coming up with #16: GAME PROGRESSION: 7-9-13-15-17-7-11-11-15-19-16 STANDARD DEVIATION: 7.633260553 (5TH HIGHEST SD) AVERAGE RANKING: 13.6 There is something of an unfortunate crossover happening here; this song features the last #25 ranking making its exit... but it also features the first #1 loss. The song has an additional two top 10's (one of which is a top 5), and one additional bottom 5. This got the 5th biggest SD because there's a wide spread in the rankings here. I was interested to see how far this song could go, because it spent a lot of time in the upper half.

And this is probably my #1 'Fraid so. "I’m carrying the memory of these things inside of me I greet them with humility, they’re with me for eternity I’m telling you with sincerity that what you do and what you be Is gon’ follow you like it followed me, and be with you for eternity"I… am not entirely sure why I like this song lmao. I’m not a religious person, not spiritual either. My best answer is that I like it from a songwriting perspective - the production, arrangement and vocals all come together well IMO. I think I listened to Matt’s album because it’s got a song with Justin Timberlake (and Matt was signed to Justin’s vanity label). Matt Morris was actually on the Mickey Mouse Club with Justin, Christina and Britney (thanks Wikipedia lol), so that’s where he has a connection to Justin - and he also worked as a songwriter with Christina on several songs from ‘Stripped’ (aaannnddd ‘Miss Independent’ which ended up with Kelly Clarkson lol). Another case of ‘know his work but don’t know him’. Now as to how this song performed - I was surprised by how buoyant it was. Sure there were the low rankings to bring it down but overall it performed better than I might have expected, especially since it may have been one of the most WTF songs coming from me.{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #7 Disco - #9 DistrictTwelve - #13 Wheatsquares33 - #15 Aerodynamite - #17 Disassociative - #7 James - #11 Az (After Edits) - #11 Preds Pride - #15 Leo - #19 Cynthia - #16 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. I first heard of Celldweller when his song "Beginning of the End" was featured on the US PS2 edition of DDR SuperNova 2 in 2007. (Incidentally, that was also the game that introduced me to "Faster Kill Pussycat".)

'Kay I'm busy basically all day today so I'mma try to bash out the next five this morning (my time) while I've still got a bit of time. Coming up with #15: GAME PROGRESSION: 18-21-19-22-23-23-21-21-13-14-15 STANDARD DEVIATION: 7.366591251 AVERAGE RANKING: 13.4 We finished the last set of five with a #1 loss; we begin this next set of five with our second #1 loss already. This song has an additional top 3 ranking, and a third top 10 ranking as well. It has only one bottom 5 ranking, but given the genre of this song I'm surprised at who supplied the low ranking. With a lot of rankings in the teens it managed to avoid being in the top 5 highest SD's but not by much.

"And so tonight, I’mma give you everything you want of mine I hope tonight, you gon’ give me everything I love inside And so tonight, I’mma give you everything you want of mine I hope tonight, you gon’ give me everything I love inside"I’m sorry James, I didn’t know you were gonna make this your #1. :’( Wondering what Disco was on, unless it’s because this isn’t a bitch anthem ‘cause otherwise - bad dance music fan! I don’t recall exactly how I stumbled across KDrew, but I’ve liked some of his stuff that I’ve heard - including a couple of remixes he’s done for other artists (side note: he also produced a song on Hilary Duff’s last album). For this rankdown I tossed up between including this or ‘Signals’ from the same EP.{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #18 Disco - #21 DistrictTwelve - #19 Wheatsquares33 - #22 Aerodynamite - #23 Disassociative - #23 James - #21 Az (After Edits) - #21 Preds Pride - #13 Leo - #14 Cynthia - #15 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. It's got two top 5's (out of four top 10's) and a bottom 5. It also has a triplet ranking - three people put it in the same spot on their lists.

"Got me runnin', got me worried, got me guessin' What you're planning, what you're thinking, your intentions We were talkin', just talkin' Feel the pressure, feel the heat of the connection Ooh, you got me lookin' for protection We were talkin', just talkin'"I think I discovered this song through an Aussie music blog. Chris’ debut single ‘So Lonely’ was a dance hit here, but was otherwise a flop. This song, meanwhile, should have been a breakout for her so naturally it was DOA. I think she had one more random single then she disappeared again. I quite like the video for this, I think it adds a lot to the song’s character.{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #17 Disco - #19 DistrictTwelve - #21 Wheatsquares33 - #20 Aerodynamite - #18 Disassociative - #14 James - #16 Az (After Edits) - #16 Preds Pride - #12 Leo - #13 Cynthia - #14 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. But I do like the song itself.

Coming up with #13: GAME PROGRESSION: 5-3-1-5-5-9-13-13-18-16-13 STANDARD DEVIATION: 7.616502551 AVERAGE RANKING: 12.7 So here we have our first song to spend any time at #1 in this rankdown. So how the hell did it wind up almost outside the top 20 before rebounding? Well... initial lists were favourable. Then it got tanked in another game entirely, and the stage was set for its downfall. #SPOILERS However, the last two lists were favourable again so it managed to recover - but not enough to return it to the top 10. I'm surprised this didn't end up in the top 5 for highest SD's, half of its rankings are top 10's (including a #1!) but almost half of it's lower rankings are in the 20's.

"The sun don't shine on my way no more Everyday you're gone, it's like an endless storm But when I hold you close I see the light again"I never followed Ricki-Lee when she was on Australian Idol, I just recall what a big deal was made about it when she was eliminated early. Back then, I was checking for a number of artists who came out of the local Idol franchise, so I started following her career and developed a standom lol. I’ve met her three times, one of which was when I was an extra in one of music videos lol. I’d been waiting for a long time for Ricki to come back after her failure-to-launch 4th album era, and I love this song. I was blindsided when it got #REKT in Wintertime Madness, because the initial lists I got for this game were quite good, and I thought people would be a lot more receptive to it. It did better here, at least?{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #5 Disco - #3 DistrictTwelve - #1 Wheatsquares33 - #5 Aerodynamite - #5 Disassociative - #9 James - #13 Az (After Edits) - #13 Preds Pride - #18 Leo - #16 Cynthia - #13 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. Coming up with #12: GAME PROGRESSION: 14-6-8-17-13-5-6-7-7-9-12 STANDARD DEVIATION: 7.927448798 (4TH HIGHEST SD) AVERAGE RANKING: 12.2 Cynthia, as the last one to send in a list... I kinda h8chu for this. :sip2: Five top 10's get wiped out here, three of which were top 5's and two were almost #1's. It also had a couple of undeserved bottom 5 rankings, so with the upper rankings so high it drove up the SD. This really deserved to finish in the top 10, but it's not the only WTF moment yet to come (at least IMO).

"Faster kill faster still pussycat Those high heels are not your friends Honey you know where the world is at Come home with me when the party ends"RIP Brittany Murphy. :( I never followed her movie career, but I was looking forward to her music career. She sounds great on this song, and on the songs she recorded for ‘Happy Feet’ before she passed away. She was working on a pop-dance record that was never released. I remember the thread on Pulse, she was working with Timbaland and Max Martin if I recall, and DJ Chris Cox. I’d have loved for this to go top 10, it didn’t deserve some of these low rankings (I think I also under-ranked it, but it’s tough when I love all the songs here).{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #14 Disco - #6 DistrictTwelve - #8 Wheatsquares33 - #17 Aerodynamite - #13 Disassociative - #5 James - #6 Az (After Edits) - #7 Preds Pride - #7 Leo - #9 Cynthia - #12 {Songs Remaining} Anthony Callea - Perfect Mistake Ben Hazlewood - Stay Tonight BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) (ft. Coming up with #11, our final reveal of the day: GAME PROGRESSION: 4-2-6-3-8-16-15-15-14-10-11 STANDARD DEVIATION: 7.435649863 AVERAGE RANKING: 11.8 Here we have the first of two ties. It spent the first half of submissions in the top 10, before some low rankings pushed it out again. It was able to claw its way back into the top 10, but the final list put it on the wrong end of a tiebreaker. This song had four top 5's, one of which is also a top 3. There is a fifth additional top 10, and two bottom 5's. Side question; in the ARIA Assortment, Michael Paynter made the top 10 by winning a tiebreaker. Does he have anything to do with this tiebreaker at all?

So apparently I never actually posted #11. Whoops... six reveals today then! "Do you hurt the ones that you love? Words that were said, you didn’t mean it Told too many lies, like I did Have you walked from the scene of a crime Stole somebody’s secret and blown it? It’ll come back and get me sometime"Anthony Callea works best as an adult contemporary singer, the pop-rock sound never quite meshed with him even though he was still young and fresh-faced when he broke out through Australian Idol. Your mileage may vary on whether he makes this one work, but I think he did a good job with this song. It’s easily my favourite from his second album, and had he not fallen off with the two singles released I’d have loved to see this get the single treatment. I was pleasantly surprised how well he was doing in this game at first, and I’d definitely have loved to see him finish top 10 but it turns out that wasn’t meant to be.{Rankdown Evolution} Az Paynter - #4 Disco - #2 DistrictTwelve - #6 Wheatsquares33 - #3 Aerodynamite - #8 Disassociative - #16 James - #15 Az (After Edits) - #15 Preds Pride - #14 Leo - #10 Cynthia - #11
