Pop radio is just getting ready for the inevitable next alt crossover of Broken by lovelytheband. Don't forget Nevermind.

Pop PDs need to get their shit together. I can't believe this is dead because radio would rather play songs no one cares about (see: Lauv in the top 10).

Pop radio is just getting ready for the inevitable next alt crossover of Broken by lovelytheband. Don't forget Nevermind. Nevermind isn’t really an alt crossover though— I believe it impacted both formats at about the same time, it’s just rising on alt quicker. Similar situation to Best Friend by Sofi Turner, for example.

in the long run it doesnt matter how high it went on charts, I´m pretty sure that SNTM will be their biggest hit in longevity and being played in retro shows. This has more adult rock feeling than "Pumped" and will be few alternative songs that went to mainstream in 2010s.

The legacy of PUK will be hard to trump for this band and I expect this to have some decent recurrent plays but nothing more than that.

Not liking these updates at all! This is such a good song. I guess it just shows how much harder it is for Alternative bands to do well on Pop. Only Twenty One Pilots and Imagine Dragons seem to be able to make the Top 10. I thought Walk the Moon might have made it again until One Foot tanked.

I feel like it's only dropping based from the drop on the Hot 100. Fuck Drake.

I feel like it's only dropping based from the drop on the Hot 100. f**k Drake. No, it's not. It was showing signs of peaking well before the Drake bomb. Besides, radio does not use the Hot 100 to gauge what they play. Also, y'all need to stop with this "radio is trash" mantra. This is their second biggest hit by far on pop. After several months of growth, it peaked inside the top 20. They gave this hell of a lot more of a chance to catch on than so many other songs. It just didn't catch as well as we would have hoped, but that's okay. It still did exceptionally well for the type of song that it is under the current music industry climate. Like, really, really well. They were virtually a one-hit wonder on pop radio and to the general public before this, and long after it was released was when it finally started to take off here. It peaked on its core format a couple months ago, but kept going here. Its streaming was basically non-existent, yet here it is in the top 20. The run for this on pop radio is fantastic and absolutely not something to blame radio on. They're the ones that pushed it to become as big as it is in the first place. I mean, come on guys, imagine Bad Meets Evil, Dev, The Band Perry, or Alexandra Stan having a song slowly make its way into the top 20 on pop this year three months after peaking on urban, rhythmic, country, or dance. That's what we just witnessed here.

Thank you Leo for providing us with all the updates for the past few months. It was fun and exciting to watch the song do so well. I'm very proud of Foster the People and I'm happy that the song is a Gold Record!! I can't wait to see them in concert again when they come back to my city.

I still cant believe Pop killed this song so fast after that article on Rolling Stones =/ but anyway seeing Foster the People get all this attention again was such a cool thing for a fan that I just can get happy although I wish they had gone better on HOT AC too.

I had to edit my post because I forgot to mention what I was talking about...it dropped fast after the Rolling Stones´s article because I know it has been for a long time in top 50 and even so it could have gone further.

I'm glad Foster The People got another Top Hit in Pop. As Au$tin mentioned, pop is passing through a very dark phase, so bonus points for them in this situation.

Wow... This probably had potential to go top 20 on the Hot 100 if pop radio fully supported it instead of dropping it prematurely.

It's funny, when I last worked in radio in the mid-90s, it was the urban stuff which was struggling to cross over; I remember how amazed we were that "This Is How We Do It" got to #15, "No Diggity" got to #12, and "Tell Me" got to #20. They'd've all done far better in today's climate. But even though Beck didn't quite crack the Top 50 with "Up All Night", I'm glad CHR/Pop DJs had to say his name again just like FTPs!

I remember all those songs being played heavily. I guess it's because I was a lot younger and listened to our local Rythmic station as well as our top 40 here in Boston, I believe more people did this back then. I remember hearing these songs ALL the time back then. BTW are you speaking about Groove Theory's "Tell Me" or Diddy and XTina's??
