Eminem holding up very well. Helps that he didn't rely on a ticket bundle, and that his streaming isn't bad.

Here it is: The first week that Divide outperforms Reputation. If Endgame doesn't blow up, I don't see Taylor closing the gap.

Not surprised the Christmas albums are gone. I think 'A Pentatonix Christmas' may be in the Top 50-60 (as it did last year), but can't think of many others that would stick around. Aside from that, why won't 'Divide' die?

The biggest fall is the "Pitch Perfect 3" Soundtrack not even hit the top 20 of the albums chart while The last "Pitch Perfect" soundtrack debuted at #1 and this new one has yet to even make the top 10 on the charts.

Right in line with what I was expecting for Taylor tbh. I knew it would be 20s. January sales are abysmal.

In the continuing saga of how SEAs could possibly change soon for the Billboard 200: THE WEIGHTING IS THE HARDEST PART, CONTINUEDOn-demand audio streaming increased to 400 billion streams in 2017. Under current industry-standard chart metrics, that would translate to 267 million equivalent albums. Proposals currently being negotiated would increase paid streams in value by counting 1,250 streams as one album. Ad-supported streams, however, would be reduced in value, with either 3,750 or 5,000 streams counting as one unit on the album chart. According to rights holders, at 1,250/3,750, this year's 400 billion streams would equal 277 million albums while the calculation at 1,250/5,000 would result in 271 million. While overall this doesn't change the end result by much, it does reduce the importance of ad-supported streams and how they contribute to the album chart. Speaking of calculations, how might the diminished weight of free-tier streams affect Spotify's IPO? Just asking.

^Its lack of a current major hit is hurting its SEAs and TEAs numbers which is the main reason ÷ will end up above it this week, helped significantly by Shape of You's resurgence.

CHART STORY: THE SHOW GOES ONFriday, January 5, 2018 The Hugh Jackman-led soundtrack to The Greatest Showman (featuring songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, best known for La La Land and Dear Evan Hansen) has officially gone #1 on the first Top 50 Chart of 2018. Here’s where a few key sets stand at the end of the first week in January. 2017’s three biggest sellers are all in the Top 5; Atlantic’s Ed Sheeran is #2 and TDE/Aftermath/Interscope’s Kendrick Lamar is #4, while Big Machine’s Taylor Swift is #3. KIDinaKORNER/Interscope’s Imagine Dragons round out the Top 5. Travis Scott and Quavo’s collaborative project, Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho (Quality Control/Motown/Capitol-Grand Hustle/Epic), which dropped sans rollout on 12/21, snags the #6 spot. Eminem’s Revival (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) and G-Eazy’s The Beautiful & Damned (RCA), both of which dropped on 12/15, land at #7 and #8, respectively. Post Malone’s unstoppable late-2016 album, Stoney (Republic), which doesn’t even include super smash “rockstar,” can be found at #9, and one of 2017’s most-talked-about newcomers, Right Hand Music/RCA’s Khalid, sees his American Teen at #10. And yes, as you may have noticed, there are no debuts in the first week of January this year. Also, there’s no pride (when you look in the mirror and regret all the food and booze you consumed by December’s end). C’est la vie. When it comes to chart marketshare, UMG is #1 with 50%, while WMG follows with 32% and SME is #3 with 17%. The indies claim 1%. Streeting on 1/12 are albums from SYCO/Epic’s Camila Cabello and Interscope’s BØRNS, as well as RCA’s 2018 Grammy Nominees compilation.

Garth Brooks out of the top 50? Really? Not necessarily. Sometimes they don't include the albums if they don't have the data. That said, it's quite odd they included it in their prediction. To note, last week BuzzAngle didn't have it either in its top 50 and ended up at #13 in the Billboard 200. So, there's still a chance it will make the top 50 next week.

I could not imagine Garth Brooks selling 36,000 copies and be #1 on the country albums chart one week and falling that hard the following week.

This is the third top ten set for Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Their La La Land soundtrack peaked at #2 last year, and Dear Evan Hansen peaked at #8.
I believe that there is only one other duo that has posted multiple soundtracks in the top ten.
Rogers and Hammerstein:
Oklahoma! - #1 South Pacific - #1 The Sound of Music - #1

Greatest Showman has decent streaming with some of tracks appearing on Spotify list. As the movie continues to do well in the box office, it might keep around doing solid sales

Kane Brown's album is listed at #1 on the country chart. Does anyone have sales figures for it? I see on the building sales chart that several country albums are above that one.

^That's the confusion. You want SPS numbers which usually do not leak or are given out in chart articles.
Roughstock posts the album sales chart.
