What songs are you surprised the most made the Top 30? "A Thousand Times A Day", "Keep Your Distance"
What songs are you most surprised to see miss the Top 30? "Love Don't Let Me Down"
Which duet will last the longest: "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" or "House of Cash"? "You Don't Seem To Miss Me"
What album will be next to be fully eliminated? Mountain Soul or Dreamin' My Dreams
How much further will "Cheap Whiskey" make it? Not much further, at all. I think it will be gone pretty soon.
Which album with multiple singles will be the first to lose one that hasn't already? (Only What I Feel, When Fallen Angels Fly, or The Trouble with the Truth) The Trouble With The Truth

Which duet will last the longest: "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" or "House of Cash"? It should be YDSTMM but I think the big George fans participating may help boost HOC. I think we're being called out bboat11 . Guess Kanenrá:ke will just have to wait and see where we happened to rank "House of Cash" What songs are you surprised the most made the Top 30? "A Thousand Times A Day", "Can't Get Enough" What songs are you most surprised to see miss the Top 30? "Like Water Into Wine" Which duet will last the longest: "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" or "House of Cash"? "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" What album will be next to be fully eliminated? Probably Mountain Soul or ClassicsHow much further will "Cheap Whiskey" make it? I think it'll probably be leaving within' the next five reveals Which album with multiple singles will be the first to lose one that hasn't already? (Only What I Feel, When Fallen Angels Fly, or The Trouble with the Truth) I'm thinking it'll be The Trouble With The Truth

What songs are you surprised the most made the Top 30? I'm surprised that some of her later-career offerings have done as well as they have (such as "Keep Your Distance" and whatever the lead single was to the album that had "On Your Way Home". What songs are you most surprised to see miss the Top 30? "High On Love" was definitely a shocker to me. Also I think "The Lonely Side Of Love" should have done better. Which duet will last the longest: "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" or "House of Cash"? HOUSE OF CASH!!!!!! Strait >>>>>>> Jones What album will be next to be fully eliminated? Mountain Soul. How much further will "Cheap Whiskey" make it? Definitely within the next set of reveals. Which album with multiple singles will be the first to lose one that hasn't already? (Only What I Feel, When Fallen Angels Fly, or The Trouble with the Truth) I don't know her well enough to remember which songs are on each album...

I didn't realize Mountain Soul wasn't a favorite here. To me it's easily one of the best albums of the 00s. The breath it has both musically and thematically is so vast, and it's done so well.

I didn't realize Mountain Soul wasn't a favorite here. To me it's easily one of the best albums of the 00s. The breath it has both musically and thematically is so vast, and it's done so well. It's just so stylistically different from everything else here, it's hard to judge the songs on an even playing field with some of her all-time classics. To me it's basically the same reasoning for why Christmas songs always have a disadvantage in a rankdown full of regular songs. Plus on top of that, just because somebody is a country fan, doesn't necessarily mean they are a bluegrass fan. Like, to me bluegrass might as well be the same song over and over again, and it gets boring really quickly. A rankdown for an artist like Patty is going to appeal mostly to country fans, but then by default most of those country fans are going to prefer her regular country music. So even though her bluegrass output is probably very high quality bluegrass, it unfortunately has a built-in disadvantage.

Yeah her bluegrass music is fine on its own, but it doesn't compare to her superb country material at all imo.

Track listing1 ~ "So Good to Be in Love" (Karen Staley) 2 ~ "Working Man's Hands" (Johnny Pierce, Joanne Christy, Paul Marshall) 3 ~ "You Saved Me" (Curtis Wright) 4 ~ "If My Heart Had Windows" (Dallas Frazier) 5 ~ "A Little Bit in Love" (Steve Earle) 6 ~ "I Can't Get You Off of My Mind" (Hank Williams) 7 ~ "Baby's Gone Blues" (Pat Bunch, Pam Rose, Mary Ann Kennedy) 8 ~ "A Little on the Lonely Side" (Roger Murrah, Kitty Murrah) 9 ~ "Fly Away" (John Hall, Joanne Hall) 10 ~ "Once in a Lifetime" (Eric Kaz, Marsha Zwilling) PLACEMENTS: "A Little Bit In Love" - #32 "If My Heart Had Windows" - #39 "You Saved Me" - #52 At the end of 1987 Patty would release "You Saved Me" as the first single from her second album. This single would peak at #43, matching the previous highest peak of "After All" from her last album. The album came out in January of 1988 and would see her cover of George Jones hit "If My Heart Had Windows" and this would become her first Top 40 hit and it went all the way to #10, also becoming her first Top 10 hit of her career. Her 3rd and final single from this album was "A Little Bit In Love", which also happened to be a cover of one of songwriter Steve Earle's earliest singles that failed to chart. Patty was able to bring this song to the Top 10, giving her a second Top 10 in a row and it went all the way to #2! During this time Patty would also join the Grand Ole Opry! Tony Brown and Emory Gordy, Jr. produced this album and Vince Gill sang background vocals on this album. This following song I have always enjoyed and was shocked when I found out it wasn't a single cause I had heard it a few times. Have always liked this song. Wow. Four top 10s for "Lovin' All Night," but also two rankings in the 50s.
I cannot fathom how people prefer "Can't Get Enough" over "Lovin' All Night." Someone explain!
On Your Way Home is such a solid album (and includes a Chris Stapleton co-write).

It could just be the nostalgia factor, but I've always really liked CGE.

Hint for #28: I'm okay with this going next. It's not my lowest remaining but it's in my current bottom 6. I always found this one didn't sound like a Lucinda song to me.

#26 is both someones #1 and at one point was ranked #4! It fell all the way to #26 after a couple bottom 5 rankings!
Also this elimination will answer a question I asked previously!

I'm thinking either one of the duets remaining or maybe "Nothin' But the Wheel"? I remember seeing that song getting a bunch of love somewhere.

If the masterpiece that is "Nothin' but the Wheel" is out this early then y'all are cancelled.

I was shocked big time by some of the low rankings for this song because "House Of Cash" is incredible and deserved Top 20 easily! At least LBTrocks, bboat11, tim, sabre14 and George Strait Junkie know a good song when they hear it! just saying At #25 an album will be eliminated and someone will lose a Top 5 ranking! On the other hand someone will finally see their #55 song go!

"House of Cash" is really good, but it stands up better for George Strait than Patty Loveless. Her solo material is just too strong.

On re-listening, I probably over-ranked "Cheap Whiskey." It's good, but her other stuff blows it away.

In a rankdown for Patty, I just have a hard time putting a true duet very high.
