Now that New Rules took off against all odds and became a pretty big hit, the floodgates are open for Dua Lipa to have the success in the US that she's had in the rest of the world for a year or two now. But will that actually happen? IDGAF is still very early on and could go either way, and while the odds are stacked against her as a foreign female diva making pure pop in 2018, it certainly wouldn't be impossible for her to be the next big thing. Thoughts?

Could go either way. A lot of it depends on the material she picks for her second album, seeing as her debut era is very likely nearing it's end.

It depends on how much time she takes to move into a 2nd era. She's a hot topic right now, she should capitalize on that and release new material rather quickly.

Because of the huge success of New Rules, the next single should be at least a moderate hit.The question is what happens after that?

I'm predicting her career will be like Jessie Js, 2-3 hits in the US, first album will be her peak (6-7 European/Australian hits).

Not entirely sure, though I'm hoping she doesn't become a one-hit wonder. If her latest single, IDGAF, becomes just as big, then she could be taken seriously.

Things are looking bright for her form what I can tell. Radio seems excited to latch onto "IDGAF."
I'll bet that becomes a moderate hit and she'll score Best New Artist nomination at next year's Grammy's. Her next album will be end up being highly anticipated.

With the right material, I think she could do well. I could see her becoming one of the main Pop girls with her next record.
