Hot 100 Predictions inverse points system

Hey guys. I created an inverse point system to represent overall success in the hot 100 predictions, instead of weeks at #1 (kinda like the BB100)
Keep in mind that participation in each week greatly boosts one’s points. Here’s how it works:


The person who gets first receives an amount of points equal to the number of players (basically a count of the players they beat out) multipled by 1.5 for a half win or 2 for a full win

Each subsequent position receives one less point, with last place receiving 0 points (u need results, not just participation, to get points!).

Examples:
position 7 out of 22 players yields 15 points.
position 7 out of 24 players yields 17 points.
position 100 out of 100 players yields 0 points.
Position 1 out of 22 players yields 33 points for a half-win or 44 for a full win.

2/17/18 Selected Standings:
right now, the inverse point system matches closely with the #1 system, though I predict that this will change as more weeks pass.

Hot100fan is in the lead with 188.5 points, just as he is in the #1 standings

kcdawg13 is in second with 154.5 points, just as he is in the #1 standings (note: kcdawg has achieved this high position despite not participating in two separate weeks!)

Rounding out the top 3, monkeydluffy has 153 points.

^I personally was thinking on more of a system based on the average weekly score with some bonuses for participation (say +0.5 for each 10 weeks someone participates). The latter would encourage people to participate regularly, while the former would take into account how each participatnt did on average rather than take into account their weekly position. So basically, the less negative the number one has, the better they're doing. I'll run through some numbers later and post what numbers would look like under this proposal.

I thought about this. After all, I hate inverse point as opposed to “real” points.

The problem with this though is that it’d encourage people not to participate when the week is hard to predict, and that the system would hurt those who participated during hectic weeks.
Feel free to make your own standings tho, it’d be interesting to have three different ones.
