What are some artists that had a very huge hit as a feature and played a huge role in the song as well but had no hits as a lead artist and that they are basically only known for being in a feature.
A great example is Mikki Ekko from Rihannas Stay and Wynter Gordon from Flo Ridas Sugar. Any other artists that fit in this category?

MΓ definitely, two huge hits (Lean On and Cold Water) and one minor with Iggy Azalea "Beg For It". "Final Song" was a hit, but only in Europe.

Lauren Bennett, Goonrock (both from LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem"), Nayer (Pitbull's "Give Me Everything") and even Wizkid and Kyla ("One Dance") have more #1 hits than Nicki Minaj which just seems wrong IMO.

She was featured on 5 Hot 100 hits by Technotronic without ever having a solo hit.
I say 5 when it's officially 4 because Pump Up The Jam was credited as featuring Felly, but she ended up just being a model who lip synced to Ya Kid K's vocal. That was a real problem at the end of the 80s and into the 90s, especially on dance tracks. C+C Music Factory and Black Box also come to mind as acts who featured women who didn't didn't actually sing on the track. Long live Martha Wash! And then there's Milli Vanilli, of course, but this is going into a completely different topic.

Agree with Mikky Ekko but Wynter has had Dance hits and I would argue that she's at least better known for her Dance hits rather than being the female vocalist on Flo Rida's song. If you keep up with music outside the US at all you'd recognize Wynter's solo music.
"Dirty Talk" in particular, which made Billboard's top 20 YE dance chart, is probably her more recognizable one. I suppose she doesn't have hits in the traditional sense but then, that's my trouble with the term to begin with - its relative.

Some US only examples:
Rita Ora ("Black Widow" is her only US hit, she's got a ton more elsewhere)
Anne-Marie ("Rockabye" in the US, "Ciao Adios" and "Alarm" were hits in other countries, "FRIENDS" with Marshmello is looking promising though)
Charli XCX should be very grateful for "Boom Clap", because otherwise she'd only have her features on "Fancy" and "I Love It".

Re: Wynter (just to murk the waters up a little lol) 'Dirty Talk' was actually huge in Australia, 9 weeks top 10 on the ARIA chart (including three consecutive weeks at #1) and 21 weeks on chart in total. It also finished at #19 on the year-end chart for 2011. |

RAYE has Decline which hit the Top 20 in the UK and Cigarette which could do something as well
