"Trust My Lonely" should've been the FIRST single.

"Trust My Lonely" should've been the FIRST single. Yeah, no TML is a whole bop and a lot better than GP but it's definitely not lead single material.

She's falling off even harder than Vanessa Carlton did after her debut.

I'm still surprised that GP was their choice. It seems like a filler track. What's going on with her team?

Really disappointed to see her struggling this era. I just hope they don't try to do the Nelly Furtado thing and release overly-sexualized bops with her next album. It's funny how much she reminds me of Nelly, a Canadian singer-songwriter who got a couple huge hits from her debut album and won a grammy only to struggle with her follow-up. Here's hoping if she flops she at least releases an album as good as "Folklore".

I don’t get that vibe from Alessia.

SHOOTER Oh I didn't mean that to come across as a knock against Nelly or Loose at all. She's one of the few who made a flawless transition from quirky to sexy. I just don't think that would work for Alessia at all and hope they don't try sexualizing her just for the sake of success.

I also hope not although I feel like Alessia would rail against that even if it meant sacrificing commercial success and settling for a Macy Gray-esque career where she gets to release material as her creative whims see fit regardless of how plentiful or diminishing the returns are (no shade).

There will be a Target deluxe edition with 4 remixes and an acoustic version of GP.

Here's hoping if she flops she at least releases an album as good as "Folklore". That was Nelly going in the studio with Timbaland and creating an organic body of work. Sexualized work/imagery doesn’t equate lack of artistry or quality. I feel like you’re implying it was some label-orchestrated sell-out? It’s her best record. Alessia’s image (especially this era) blows, and the music isn’t there. Exactly Nelly’s problem during her sophomore era. Alessia doesn’t need to sexualize her image to achieve success (as shown by her past hits), but putting her in some oversized thrift-store suit and accompanying material that wouldn’t have made her debut isn’t doing her any favours. The worst thing to do is release this album without a hit. It’s going to tank, and that will be harder to rebound from than pushing it back until spring and getting back in the studio.

They're moving as planned with this era even when nothing has worked so far commercially... never a good sign because it means the era will die before single #3.

Honestly, I'd rather have the album released and the era dead before single #3 than constant delays that, in some cases, could turn out to be even worse, like Tinashe's Joyride. This way they can move on quickly to something new.

Is this still coming out tomorrow? I feel like there's no hype for her.

82 on Metacritic with 5 reviews. Just finished listening and I can understand why. It really is a good album. I see why the label decided to just go ahead and release it instead of shelving and starting from scratch, this isn't the kind of sound or concept one can quickly pivot from.

Part of me thinks that this is the album Camila really wanted to make. Anyway, listened to clips and I am going to go to Target and pick this up. 5 bonus tracks, including an acoustic Growing Pains and remixes! I was curious as to what she would do after her first EP, which I really liked but then I did a breezethrough of the album when it was released and I was not really into it.
