Is she planning on pulling off a Beyoncé?! If not, then this random post already loses merit because Adele would have given even the slightest bit of warning.
I'm holding out hope though, but I know I'll likely be disappointed.

When We Were Young is one of my all time favorite Adele songs but yeah it never sounded like single material to me. Water Under The Bridge would’ve done better second and then let Send My Love chart throughout the summer (like it already did). "WWWY" is my favorite song from that album, and I remember reaction to it being strong at first. After the album release it sold the most downloads of the album tracks. To that end it wasn't a surprise it was a single, but it obviously ended up disappointing. That song brought me to tears the first time I heard it. Then I watched the garage (warehouse?) performance and I felt emotional and loved it even more. The problem wasn’t the song in my opinion, but the complete silence and lack of promotion. We weren’t even sure that it was gonna be the second single. I don’t think it was ever sent to adds. There was no video released when it was climbing on radio. And to make things even worse, she didn’t even sing this at the Grammy‘s, when the song was about to peak. It’s like she / her team sabotaged herself (!) I believe it could’ve been a much bigger hit if it had received some type of support whatsoever....

During our usual sessions we play music and I played this song and damn did we weep. That song and this woman are a transcending experience.

I didn't think WWWY was a good single choice at all. I actually couldn't really get into that song until Billy Gilman covered it on The Voice in his audition. I loved "Water Under the Bridge" and "Hello" immediately though. I still love how "Hello" was used for SNL's Thanksgiving skit. Aidy Bryant being blown down and rolled away by the wind still makes me lol.
Anyway, I hope she does have music out this year. I had already planned to get the album for my mom's birthday gift.

Sis really did get thin. WOW. That's a ton of weight lost actually, I'm a bit blown away. Again, as long as it's healthy. If not, I'd be worried for her. After all, she did split with her husband of 6 years who is the father of her child. I can't imagine how devastating that must be and I hope she's coping well. As for Jimmy Kimmel: imma need for you to not do that sir (speaking as if I thought she was actually the guest lol)

I’m assuming they want the album out for Black Friday. The fan base she has is still AC that buys CDs still. They could still drop the whole album digitally.

If they were going for a Christmas release, that would make sense. Also, I believe the label was looking to do a two-week gap between the single and the album...if in time for Black Friday, the album would be out on November 29, with the single being released November 15. I'm hoping that's the case. I want it out for Christmas so I can buy it

I’m worried about the next era. I think dropping close to Christmas releases is predictable and risky for the long haul. Despite the fact that she will sell lot of records, we’re in the streaming era and that has been challenging for many album selling artists so far. I fear one of those situations where the album sells really well from release date to Christmas and then it just fizzles out comes January. TBH, I’m not sure how things will go if the label held the album from streaming services for 6 months. I think people have gotten used to streaming music and know that it will be on their eventually so they probably won’t be in a rush to buy it like they did with 25.

Even if it flames out by January, if it sells a ton during the holidays they all make bank.

"When We Were Young" is one of my favorites from 25; too bad it didn't get a video.

Does anyone really think an album release by end of the month is possible? If digital-only, sure, but physical product would need to be manufactured, shipped, etc. Unless it's already been made and things are that hush-hush.

Well I doubt they'll rush this release As stated earlier, she needs re-branding (reasons: new album titles, new look etc.) so just releasing music with no further "explanation" would just not work I think I really do think they go a different route this time, she's probably going more pop-leaning this time around

^What was the gap between announcement and album-release, though? 4 weeks. She announced the album release date (November 20) on October 23, the same day she released Hello. She released 25 the week before Black Friday (HDD claimed at the time that "Team Adele wants nothing to do with the s**t show that ensues on Black Friday"). Plus Target announce that year that it wouldn't be supporting any Black Friday album releases, so it essentially made a BF release undoable anyway. I think it only takes two weeks to get a new CD to retail (that is assuming one waits until the last possible moment to get copies pressed), so there's technically still time to get something out by the week before BF, or even week of if her team isn't averse to a BF release anymore. But it seems unlikely at this point that a November album is happening, as I doubt she would do a true 'surprise' drop, or release without a single out at least two weeks beforehand. If she doesn't make an announcement by this Friday, I'm going to assume November is entirely out of the question.
