The fact that "Dirt Road Prayer" has beat almost every other album track on her debut is unbelievable. That is like the only song on her debut that I cannot recall at all based on the several listens I did for this rankdown... If it beats "The Middle", I will be very upset! Sorry for the delay, I've been busy with school starting + my laptop is questionable AF, but without further ado I present one of the three remaining songs to miss the Top 10 for the Lauren Alaina rankdown. Rather appropriately, "The Middle" ended up... right in the middle, leaving "Dirt Road Prayer" behind as the only non-single standing from her debut album. Topically, the song finds the narrator looking back fondly at the words of wisdom of a loved one that has passed on about making the here and now matter. It brings with it our second #1 casualty of the game, with tim losing his top-ranked Alaina track. Two others lose a Top 10 as well, but generally speaking most people lose something from... yep, you guessed it, in the middle. "Makes me smile when I look back To every summer You’d forget your birthday and just laugh And say, it’s just a number But Sunday afternoons They meant so much to you The simple things were golden You found beauty in every moment"

I'm sure bboat11's pain in that last reveal will be cushioned some by this one: "Dirt Road Prayer" came out just narrowly ahead of "The Middle" to be the highest-placing album cut from Wildflower, but it doesn't get too much farther as it is the immediate next to go. "Dirt Road Prayer" is a sparsely-produced, traditional-leaning ballad that is posed as a casual conversation between Alaina and the heavenly father. In contrast with our last reveal, this one sees a large number of Top 10s fall (nine to be exact) -- though nobody loses their #1 -- while on the other hand, several people instead lose a rather low rank here. "Look to the sky and I say, hello Like it’s the very first time It doesn’t matter how long it’s been I can talk to God like he’s my best friend Take my heart lay it down again right there In a dirt road prayer"

Between seeing "Dreaming My Dreams" leave in Martina's Timeless rankdown and now this...I'm beyond disappointed and have no words. I loved this song from the first time I heard it and its become one that I've listened to almost daily since I discovered it. Maybe someday some of y'all will look back on this song and appreciate it more On a random and hopefully somewhat more uplifting note I was recently watching the show The Middle and saw the tail end of this episode which immediately made me think of this song...

Looking back, I really underranked The Middle. That song made me cry the first time I heard it and it’s her best vocal performance on the album imo.

The final song to come up shy of the overall Top 10 in the Lauren Alaina rankdown finds us dipping back into her sophomore set to oust "Holding the Other," an anthemic love song about being able to take on the world hand-in-hand with that special someone. It unfortunately loses the battle of being the highest-placing album track from Road Less Traveled and bows out here at #11, less than ten points away from reaching the Top 10. g8erboi can finally breathe easy seeing his #26 leave, though it's less celebratory for the seven who lose a Top 10 rank. On the whole, the majority comfortably ranked this one in their top half, but passion wasn't quite strong enough to lift it any further. "Yeah, I could conquer the world With just one hand As long as you're holding the other"

"The Middle" being out already is absolutely criminal. By far my favorite discovery of this whole rankdown, and the best song on her debut album by a long shot. The melody just soars, and it is just perfect for her voice! Why this wasn't released as a single is beyond me, because it sounds much more like a hit than either "Georgia Peaches" or "Like My Mother Does". "Dirt Road Prayer", I didn't care about this song to begin with, but now we've got bad blood... Thank GOD it's out now. "Holding The Other" is a really good song, but I'm okay seeing it leave. Now it's about time for some of these singles to leave though, because there is NO WAY they are all the best songs she has ever put out... There's a reason she didn't catch on with radio during her debut era...

"Eighteen Inches" is amazing. It is one of my favorite songs from her, and I would be thrilled to see it win this rankdown! And "Like My Mother Does" is fine, but it's just boring. Too boring to make the top 10 in this rankdown, so it better not make it too much further. "Georgia Peaches" tho... If that's a gem, it's probably graphite...

Speaking of Reba and Lauren, that ACM award video was super cute. From clips I've seen of Lauren, she seems so genuine and down to earth person. I hope she has a bright career ahead of her, I'd love to hear more of her songs on the radio!

Queen Of Hearts is AMAZING and is the underdog in this fight! #AllHailTheQueen #CutePokerFace #ShouldHaveBeenASingleInsteadOfFloppinFine It's a fold for "Queen of Hearts," the first casualty inside the Lauren Alaina rankdown Top 10! Eight Top 10 ranks are eliminated here, including austin's #2 (the underdog is no more), but raylatch98 and bigfan101 lose a bottom 6 rank here. The song is an uptempo track laden with poker game lingo to describe a woman's efforts in seeking a man's affection. It's playful and fun, no doubt, but not everyone put their stock in this one going the distance in this game. "Even though I think your poker face is kinda cute Just let it go, 'cause we both know You can't hide the truth"

Up next we lose our first single from one of Lauren's albums. Will it be something from Wildflower or Road Less Traveled?!

Up next we lose our first single from one of Lauren's albums. Will it be something from Wildflower or Road Less Traveled?! I’m gonna guess it is gonna be her cliche riddled debut single. Lauren Alaina's potential American Idol coronation song and debut single at country radio, "Like My Mother Does" becomes the unlikely first of six singles among her two studio records to be eliminated from the rankdown. Lyrically, it is a tribute to the strength and guidance of a mother's love and boasts a very anthemic and soaring chorus. Previously recorded by Kristy Lee Cook (also an Idol alum) and Jesse Lee, it finally made a splash under Lauren Alaina's recording. Over half of the participants here slotted this one comfortably inside their Top 10, including a #1 placement from Troublemaker, but a decent handful of bottom 6 ranks effectively drug this one down in the end and kept it from making it any deeper. "People always say I have a laugh Like my mother does Guess that makes sense She taught me how to smile When things get rough"
