Maybe it's just me but I feel like these guys music and sound wise are Rascal Flatts part 2. Unlike Rascal Flatts and their early material, nothing these guys have released have done anything for me including this which just plods along and goes in one ear out the other for me.

Currently #24 on iTunes despite 6 songs from A Star Is Born and 5 other new releases in front of it. Looks like they have another huge hit on their hands, so happy for them!!

#1 on country iTunes. Combined with relatively strong streaming and radio gains, this is coming straight for that #1 on Hot Country Songs (as soon as MTB falls below it of course).

"Speechless" moved up 5 spots to #20 on Mediabase. Dan + Shay gained 646 spins this week and in the Top 30 the only songs that gained more spins are Tim McGraw, Luke Combs, and Russell Dickerson. This song is moving very fast and I wouldn't be shocked or displeased if it spent multiple weeks at #1.

Waaaaaay to early prognosticating, but this song looks like it might be setting up well to get the extra weeks Christmas slowdown #1

More light and weightless, balls-less, milquetoast white-bread, fluff from them. These guys are the biggest wimps in Nashville. Half their songs sound like something out of a bad rom-com.

If you're like me at times and go on and on about your negative opinion in a single thread then it's a problem. But I don't see a problem with Ten Pounds post.

I don't profess to be a manly masculine man myself. But I just get this feeling from most D+S songs that they're just trying way way too hard to have feelings and be emotional and sensitive, but they too often come off as fake and insincere. There is a way to do "sensitive" songs right, but most of the time when D+S does it, it just feels emotionally detached. The fact that they've made a "wedding video" for a song that has nothing at all to do with weddings just shows that they're trying WAY too hard to shoot for this sensitive, romantic angle. I also find that this song has a very clunky melody and that both of them oversing like crazy on it.
It's why I thought "Nothin' Like You" was God-awful, because not a note of it felt like it exuded any sort of real emotion -- every second felt calculated and forced as all hell. Conversely, "From the Ground Up" isn't the type of song that I would go out of my way for, but it at least felt more natural somehow. They don't oversing, the lyrics are fine, the melody is beautiful, and the whole song just has an understated quality to it that makes me like it more than I should.
Maybe some of it is just the "not for me" factor, but I find most of their attempts at sounding romantic incredibly plastic and lifeless.

Ten Pound Hammer just stop now. You're like a car stuck in quicksand. Just turn off the car and get out. Just like here, stop replying and leave before you keep finding yourself in a bigger hole. I know the irony coming for me.

Well, I sure don't hear it in the lyrics... I think it's more of a subtle reference to their wedding days, for example: The wedding dress: An important night:

Dan + Shay have been on a roll this era so far, and it's taken me by surprise, which could be partly due to me not being into this era compared the previous two eras. "Tequila" has reached #11 on HAC after being massive on country (it's been moving far slower on pop where it just made top 40), and now "Speechless" is taking off on country super fast as well. We'll have to wait until how the later singles from this era pan out, but they seem to be stepping up to the next level of stardom.

It's that question again, but can this song dethrone Meant To Be in Hot Country Songs chart? It is #63 on Hot 100 while being #14 on Country Airplay. I imagine D+S will have lots of promo around Christmas time to boost this song too.

Officially a Top 10 hit as "Speechless" moves from #11 to #10 this week on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.

The question is, will these back-to-back massive hits finally cement these guys as major players going forward? It wasn't that long ago they had a pretty big flop with "Road Trippin'" (which still boggles my mind, that song was great).

Another hit for me from them. I wasn't entirely into their older singles before this album (most ranged from good to there, nothing bad at all), but this and "Tequila" have been real hits for me.

"From The Ground Up" part 2. My least fav type of song from one of my least fav artists in all of music. I know this'll be huge, because the country music fans are suckers for these type of cheesy, sappy, cliched, generic love songs. Hard pass from me though.

Hate to break it to you, but this IS already huge, lol. Definitely one of the bigger hits of the year. It's currently #1 on Hot Country Songs and already top 5 at country radio. Should be an easy #1 at radio, and could spend multiple weeks at the top over Christmas/New Year's. "Speechless" is definitely a smash and I expect it to be another very popular wedding song.
