Well the Highway has quit playing it and is spinning "Wild West" quite often now. That's odd. Especially since "Wild West" has been off the charts for over a year. I figured if The Highway was gonna play a Runaway June song it'd be either this, or either of the 2 EP songs ("I Am Too", "Got Me Where I Want You")

They cycle through songs - they'll go back to Buy My Own Drinks as it starts to move into the top 20. I think they do it to avoid burnout since they tend to play songs significantly earlier than radio for these up and coming artists. (Similarly, they've cooled a bit on To a T by Ryan Hurd, playing Michigan For the Winter significantly more.)

I’d kill to hear “I Am Too” in rotation on any station!

I’d kill to hear “I Am Too” in rotation on any station! Same! I think that might be my favorite thing I've heard from them yet, which is saying a lot because all three of their singles thus far have been A+ for me as well. The melody and vocal harmonies on "I Am Too" are otherworldly.

Officially their highest peaking song on Billboard as Runaway June move up a spot to #27. Unfortunately this song lost it's bullet on Billboard last night which does mean they have to re-bullet in order to keep on the chart next week. I do think Runaway June will, but I am annoyed that now it is back to climbing up the chart slowly. Hopefully this song can pick up the pace again and this past week was a fluke.

Love, love, love this! Such a catchy and fun song. I sure hope it gets them into the top 10(hopefully #1, i think it deserves it)...looking forward to seeing them on the Carrie tour in June!

Wish the commercial impact would improve but I am so glad that radio is loving this one regardless.

Sets a new Mediabase peak as Runaway June moved up 2 spots to #22. Only 28 spins gained unfortunately. But with this song now really close to the Top 20 I do think Runaway June can get some solid Top 20 conversions and hopefully sneak into the Top 20 within the next couple of weeks.

Sorry for the double post. Where does everyone see this song peaking when all is said and done, specifically better chart experts than me like sabre14 and jhomes87 (but obviously any input is better than none). Runaway June are about to mark Week 29 on Billboard and will probably remain at #25 and likewise on Mediabase this song is staying at #22 for another week. I ask because this is probably the only song in the Top 30, I can't get a good read on at all and I am all over the map on how it will do especially the more I thought about it today. The sales have picked up a bit and 29 weeeks into the Top 25 is decently young for a song, but the gains while not bad are kind of lackluster to the songs around it. Still no album announcement too. Hopefully them opening for the Carrie Underwood tour can continue to help with sales and radio. But yeah this song is all over the map in terms of how I can see it doing.

i would love nothing more than for this to hit #1. But, if thats not in the cards, it better at least reach top 10, this song is too infectious and too good to not! I will be seriously sad if that does not happen. But i guess it wouldn't shock me if this falters in the teens just because radio is (mostly) run by a bunch of sexist jack***es.

This made into callout this week and got similar callouts as Rascal Flatts' Back To Life. Decent but nothing else. Their sales and radio position are similar so I think their fate at radio should be similar.

Okay callout is fine. Not bad, not great. There's enough songs below Runaway June overall callout wise that I see them leaving (George Strait, Florida Georgia Line) before Runaway June does.
Also in good news the Mediabase bullet is back to a pretty healthy 111. Hoping with both Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum falling below on Billboard in addition to both Jon Pardi and Luke Combs ("Beautiful Crazy") should hopefully mean a new peak at #22 on Billboard this Monday (it should also be back up to #22 on Mediabase as well). So close to the Top 20 I can feel it. More good news this song's chart position wise on Billboard is at the same spot "Hide The Wine" was for Carly Pearce last year (#26 in 31 weeka) so I do think a Top 15 peak is doable.
But, this song is gonna be a tough sell to radio to keep converting as the sales are just pathetic and the interest is not there at all with consumers. This song is discounted at 69 cents on iTunes and yet still has the lowest sales of all the songs in the Top 30. Streaming is not great either as the music video has not even cleared 500,000 views on YouTube in the 2 and a half months the music video has been released. Finally, while the callout is decent, it still has a fairly high negative rate as well because it's a female song.
So yeah, this song is doink okay-ish, but I don't see a Top 10 peak in the future and this will probably die out somewhere in the teens.

The Townsquare Media stations added "Buy My Own Drinks". Should be reflected in next week's add board.

Sorry for how much I post in this thread. This song is just my favorite song on the charts and I have loved watching it's chart run. Anyways, after spending the past month and a half to 2 months in the #22 to #23 range on Mediabase. Runaway June finally does set a new peak this week for Mediabase, moving up 1 spot to #21, as "Buy My Own Drinks" gained 67 spins and 636k in audience this week. Not a lot, but it's hanging in there and seems to be on the upswing. I will say this song does have a shot to hit the Top 20 tomorrow on Billboard. Provided both Chase Rice "Eyes On You" and Eli Young Band "Love Ain't" will both need to go recurrent in order for Runaway June to be at #20 on the Country Airplay Chart. But it's definitely in the cards. Regardless, I do think this will probably hit the Top 20 either this week or next week and I couldn't be more excited. I do agree with austin in the "Southbound" thread that this will probably not hit the Top 10, I put it at about a 5% chance of happening. But I am so happy that an all female song is gonna be a Top 20 song on country radio without any prior OTV treatment, and on a label that hasn't been the most successful (Wheelhouse branch for Broken Bow). Hope this makes the Top 10 but if this dies out in the teens I will be happy it made this far and I am excited to see if the followup to whatever this one does.

I'll be quite happy with a peak in the teens for this one, all things considered. I'm just glad it did well enough to convince the label to go ahead and drop their debut album. I wish it had sold/streamed better, but at least radio seems to be interested in these girls. Hopefully they'll continue to get hits. The female group void in country music has been vacant for nearly 15 years, so it's about damn time.

Officially Top 20 on country radio as Runaway June nudges up a spot to #20 on Mediabase gaining 66 spins and just over 500k in audience. Not great, but not bad especially with the 2 female iHeartMedia debuts this week and Kelsea Ballerini max spins
With George Strait, Kane Brown, and Morgan Wallen in freefall, Kelsea Ballerini about to enter freefall tomorrow (which should really help Runaway June as besides Maren Morris they are the next female song in line), singles from Cody Johnson, Florida Georgia Line, and Brett Eldredge not expected to last much longer, and no one on Mediabase appearing to be an immediate threat (Rascal Flatts who is next at #21 is over 700 spins and 3 million audience behind Runaway June). I do think Runaway June can make some progress into the teens before "Buy My Own Drinks" probably raises the white flag in July or August.
I swear if Runaway June could sell and stream better I think this song would probably be Top 15 to Top 10 by now. Country radio while sexist against women, really loves this trio as evident by non event "Lipstick" making the Top 25 and traditonal country ballad "Wild West" making the Top 40 and now this making the Top 20.
I am kind of excited to see what their future holds and am so excited for the album.

I know people here follow Billboard mostly but technically, “I’m Taking the Wheel” by SHeDAISY (#20 on R&R in 2006) was the last, considering “Buy My Own Drinks” hit the top 20 on Mediabase (formerly R&R).

Well the article said 14 years so they were apparently going by Billboard themselves, but yeah, either way the last time it happened was with SHeDAISY 13 or 14 years ago, so, great accomplishment for Runaway June!

I'm super excited for these ladies. Seeing them in less than 2 weeks on the carrie tour, and with preordering the cd on amazon i should have the album on release day. This is great, EP is great, and the new song head over heels is great too! Hopefully the spins will get better, this so deserves at least a top 10.

This has at least enough gas in the tank for a top 15. It's possible they could keep pushing it long enough for country radio to give it a week in the #1 schedule, but let's just wait and see. Awesome jam, by the way! And it kind of relates to what a lot of people are thinking right now. It's a comforting song for us singles.

Ooh, this has really picked up the pace in the last few days. I think there are two scenarios for this: 1. Sales suddenly pick up like what happened to “One that Got Away” and this reaches the top 10 or 5 2. This gains well until the teens where it hits a brick wall because of sales
Obviously I’m hoping for the former, because I really want to see Runaway June succeed.

lady𝓐fan I did do some back research of the songs that really had marathon chart runs and see where they were at 34 weeks on Billboard. It is interesting to say the least. Here are just some of the examples: "Love You Like That" #20 "Gonna Wanna Tonight" #22 "I Love This Life" #20 "I Got The Boy" #18 "Little Bit of You" #22 "I Met A Girl" #28 "Think A Little Less" and "If The Boot Fits" #17 "Hometown Girl" #22 "Hooked and "Hide The Wine" #24 "Last Shot" #27 So despite my initial hesitations, if this song can catch a few lucky breaks and cracks, I can definitely see this being a Top 10 to Top 5 single, but that probably means Wheelhouse is gonna have to keep promoting this song for at least another 3 months. Hope Wheelhouse is up to it, (probably will be since the only other singles Wheelhouse is promoting Zac Brown Band and LoCash and neither one is off to a particular promising start).

Up to #18 on Mediabase this week.
From what I know, this will get a conversion from iHeartMedia stations this upcoming week. Top 15 looks like a lock and top 10 is reachable.

This is looking more and more likely to come pretty close to #1. The research is decent enough and there's clearly a lot of radio support behind Runaway June. I can see this getting as high as #3 or #4, but maybe coming up just short of the top like some other Broken Bow songs that have had marathon chart runs have in the past ("Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About," "If the Boot Fits," Like a Cowboy," "Hell If I Know," etc.). I'm glad to see this catching on because it's one of the better songs at country radio right now and the first song from this group I've liked. It's also really catchy and radio-friendly and a lot more modern-sounding than their previous releases.
