If this is gonna hit the Billboard top 10 it better hurry. Chris Janson and Matt Stell are both gaining on it.

After spending the past 4 weeks at #10, Runaway June finally nudges up a spot to #9 on Mediabase. Assuming no one passes Runaway June should nudge up another spot to #8 next week.
I do think this song is on borrowed time (Monday will mark Week 46 on Billboard) but I think Runaway June should get into the Billboard Top 10 tomorrow so it should be Top 10 on both charts. I would love if this could get a Mediabase Top 5 peak but I don't think that is highly likely, regardless I am very happy to see how far this song has gotten especially since it didn't get any OTV treatment either.

Officially the first all female group to reach the Billboard Country Airplay too 10 since SheDAISY’s “Don’t Worry ‘Bout A Thing” In 2005.

The plan is to try for a top 5 push on Mediabase, at least that's what they want. I know radio stations are sick of the song. "Buy My Own Drinks" is 46 weeks old on Billboard Country Airplay and I love the fact they got as high as they did, but expect this one to fall really hard when they give up promotion.

I can get them up to #6 (pass freefalling Dan + Shay and Jason Aldean while temporarily getting ahead of Cole Swindell) on Mediabase but I do not see which of Justin Moore, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Chris Lane, or Dierks Bentley would fall below to get that Top 5 finish.

They're keeping it alive in time for the second leg of the Cry Pretty Tour and I'm expecting them to keep it alive through September, which would get it to 49-50 weeks at Billboard Airplay...certainly not getting past that threshold. I could see Justin falling out of the way in time for top 5 finish (Justin will at be sent recurrent on MB by September 30th at the latest) but they know it's not a certainty.

At this point I'm just hoping the follow up will be a hit as well!

Looks like they're maxing this for top 5 this week. Plummet starts next week.

Love this and would've loved to see it keep climbing and make a run for #1, but I know that's an unrealistic expectation. That said, I'll be highly satisfied with a top 5 peak for them with this excellent song and I'm looking forward to them getting a new single out on radio. I'm still not tired of "Buy My Own Drinks," but it will be nice after a year to see them be able to move on. I feel cautiously optimistic that their follow-up will at least do well enough to reach the top 30 or so, preferably better though.

Yup, they want a top 5 peak, hopefully. The song is too old and too many stations who have been spinning it since last year want off of it.
Still though, the fact it got as high as it did is a great accomplishment.

Is the push week just this week or are they gonna go for another week? I don't feel great about their Top 5 chances if they are only pushing this week.

This reached #5 on Mediabase this week, barely getting past “Southbound” on the Sunday update. This was Runaway June’s last push, so it’ll start dropping this week. Carrie’s song should be fine, since UMG is asking for conversations now and Luke, Justin and Runaway June will all start falling.
”Buy My Own Drinks” is the highest-peaking Mediabase single for an all-female group since “Travelin’ Soldier” by the Dixie Chicks in March of 2003 (over 16 years).

And now I’m very nervous as to what they choose as a follow up, very strong album and I could see a lot of the tracks working as a single in theory, but it’s crucial they get it right.
“Head Over Heels” seems to be the presumed front runner but I think it’s a mistake to choose.
“I Know The Way” or “I Am Too” would be my picks.

I was originally pro Head Over Heels, but now I'm starting to lean towards We Were Rich. They've made progress with something fun but a bit throwaway, and now they need something with substance to really establish them as here to stay.

Congrats to these women on such a tremendous accomplishment. I've enjoyed hearing this on the radio. Hopefully their next single is at least a top 20.
