I wouldn't be too surprised if Cody Jinks' Lifers finds a way to sneak into Best Album, similar to Isbell last year with Nashville Sound.

After looking through the nominees, this is my guess:
Entertainer: Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban Male: Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban Female: Kelsea Ballerini, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Lauren Alaina Duo: Brothers Osborne, Dan & Shay, FGL, Maddie & Tae, Sugarland Group: LBT, Lady A, Midland, Old Dominion, LANCO New Artist: Brett Young, Luke Combs, Lauren Alaina, Kane Brown, Carly Pearce Single: Drowns The Whiskey, Marry Me, Tequila, What Ifs, Broken Halos Song: Boy, Marry Me, Tequila, Mercy, Drunk Girl Album: Port Saint Joe, Life Changes, The Mountain, Unapologetically, Texoma Shore Colab: Babe, Meant To Be, Keeping Score, Take Back Home Girl, Up Down
(And sorry for the Kacey lovers....I just don't see it. Is she even country really anymore, besides being on a country label? She pushed her music more on AAA radio than country.)

(And sorry for the Kacey lovers....I just don't see it. Is she even country really anymore, besides being on a country label? She pushed her music more on AAA radio than country.) She's definitely country, I'd just say AAA is just another avenue for potential exposure for her. Stapleton pushed a song to AAA this year, too. Just what's the point of her pushing anything to country radio when it won't be played anyway. She's to the point where she doesn't need country radio.

This album wasn't as traditional as her first two, but it was still about as country as it gets for a mainstream artist. Not sure why everyone is so hung up on labeling her as having left country music behind because she didn't have any hits on country radio, or because she recorded 1 song with partial vocoder and 1 pop song on her new album.

Naw, I see what you saying....just donβt think she did enough in the genre to get the noms. Again, Iβm sure Iβm gonna be proved wrong...but I would put Lauren and even Carly in the Female category over Kacey for this past year.

Well I guess if your criteria of "doing enough" is based entirely on country radio airplay... then yeah. But in every other metric? Kacey pulverized Lauren and Carly. I think Kacey's new album out-sold both of theirs in its first week (last sales figures I could find for Lauren's was January 2018 and Carly's from June 2018 and both were in the 30k range, and Kacey opened with about 50k). And critical acclaim, well... you know how that went. She's also selling out her own headlined shows left and right and the other two girls are still opening acts. The amount of hoops so many of y'all (since this topic of discussion has taken up like half of this thread so far) are trying to jump through to discredit Kacey as not being country enough or not having the success to justify nominations is just... interesting to me.

I donβt know why people canβt simply say they dislike her (which is completely fair) instead of keeping up with some of this βnot countryβ nonsense... Regarding the info about their sales you were unsure of. Kacey has outsold both of Carly and Laurenβs TOTAL sales on her FIRST WEEK alone. Sheβs about to cross the 100k mark on pure sales (donβt have an updated number on her sales + streams), while the other two are at around 35k

The CMA's are always one of my favorite award shows to watch so figured I'd throw my hat into the ring and take a shot at the predicted nominees. Hopefully this year the Single and Song nominations look like two separate categories Entertainer of the Year:- Jason Aldean
- Luke Bryan
- Kenny Chesney
- Chris Stapleton
- Keith Urban
I almost always put Jason Aldean's name in the mix here and yet he never gets nominated...but I think he will finally this year. I expect Thomas Rhett will soon be nominated here as well. I'm actually going to guess that Garth Brooks will not be nominated again. Female Vocalist of the Year:- Kelsea Ballerini
- Miranda Lambert
- Maren Morris
- Kacey Musgraves
- Carrie Underwood
Runners-up: Lauren Alaina and Carly Pearce Male Vocalist of the Year:- Dierks Bentley
- Luke Bryan
- Thomas Rhett
- Chris Stapleton
- Keith Urban
Runners-up: Jon Pardi, Kenny Chesney and Kane Brown; Eric Church had a relatively quiet year during the eligibility period but I expect he'll see multiple nominations in 2019 New Artist of the Year:- Lauren Alaina
- Kane Brown
- Luke Combs
- Midland
- Brett Young
Album of the Year:- From A Room: Volume 2 - Chris Stapleton
- Golden Hour - Kacey Musgraves
- Graffiti U - Keith Urban
- The Mountain - Dierks Bentley
- Rearview Town - Jason Aldean
Runners-up: Life Changes - Thomas Rhett; What Makes You Country - Luke Bryan; Texoma Shore - Blake Shelton Single of the Year:- "Broken Halos," Chris Stapleton
- "Drowns the Whiskey," Jason Aldean feat. Miranda Lambert
- "Get Along," Kenny Chesney
- "Marry Me," Thomas Rhett
- "When It Rains It Pours," Luke Combs
Runners-up: "Meant to Be" could easily get nominated but I'm crossing my fingers it won't; "Most People Are Good" could also sneak in; "Small Town Boy" will for sure NOT be nominated lol Song of the Year:- "Broken Halos"
- "Cry Pretty"
- "Get Along"
- "Mercy"
- "Most People Are Good"
Runners-up: "Body Like A Back Road," "Five More Minutes," and "I Lived It" Vocal Group of the Year:- Lady Antebellum
- LANCO
- Little Big Town
- Midland
- Old Dominion
Vocal Duo of the Year:- Brothers Osborne
- Dan + Shay
- Florida Georgia Line
- High Valley
- Sugarland
Musical Event of the Year:- "Babe"
- "Dear Hate"
- "Drowns the Whiskey"
- "Everythingβs Gonna Be Alright"
- "Meant to Be"
Runner-up: βComing Homeβ and "Burning Man" Musician of the Year:- Jerry Douglas
- Paul Franklin
- Dann Huff
- Brent Mason
- Mac McAnally
Music Video of the Year:- "Babe"
- "Get Along"
- "Marry Me"
- "Rich"
- "Straight To Hell"

Entertainer of the Year: Jason Aldean Garth Brooks Keith Urban Chris Stapleton Luke Bryan
Runner-up: Miranda Lambert for the sake of having a woman, but yeah probably not.
Female Vocalist of the Year: Kelsea Ballerini Miranda Lambert Maren Morris Kacey Musgraves Carrie Underwood
Runner-up: Lauren Alaina in place of Miranda, but again probably not. I would love to see her nab a spot in this category, but last year was probably her best shot up until Reba somehow made it.
Male Vocalist of the Year: Luke Combs Luke Bryan Thomas Rhett Chris Stapleton Keith Urban
Runner-up: Dierks Bentley in place of Luke Combs, it will more realistically be the other way around, but I would love to see Combs/Brett Young/Kane snag a newcomer spot in this category.
New Artist of the Year: Lauren Alaina Kane Brown Luke Combs Carly Pearce Brett Young
Runner-up: LANCO in place of Carly Pearce. I expect Lauren, Luke, and Brett to enjoy their second year being nominated and for one of them to win. Hopefully Lauren so she can finally stop being new.
Album of the Year: From A Room: Volume 2 - Chris Stapleton Golden Hour - Kacey Musgraves Graffiti U - Keith Urban Unapologetically - Kelsea Ballerini Rearview Town - Jason Aldean
Runner-up: Life Changes - Thomas Rhett in place of Kelsea Ballerini. The other four are locks.
Single of the Year: "What Ifs", Kane Brown feat. Lauren Alaina "Drowns the Whiskey," Jason Aldean feat. Miranda Lambert "Get Along," Kenny Chesney "Meant to Be" Bebe Rhexa feat. Florida Georgia Line "Tequila", Dan + Shay
Runners-up: "Broken Halos", Chris Stapleton; "When It Rains It Pours", Luke Combs; "Heaven", Kane Brown -- all in place of "What Ifs" and/or "Tequila"
Song of the Year: assuming they're different this year "Cry Pretty", Carrie Underwood "Mercy", Brett Young "Most People Are Good", Luke Bryan "Boy", Lee Brice "Broken Halos", Chris Stapleton
Runners-up: "Five More Minutes", Scotty McCreery; "Tequila", Dan + Shay; "Drunk Girl", Chris Janson -- all in place of "Boy"
Vocal Group of the Year: Lady Antebellum LANCO Little Big Town Midland Old Dominion
Runner-up: Runaway June in place of LANCO (I guess?)
Vocal Duo of the Year: Brothers Osborne Dan + Shay Florida Georgia Line Maddie & Tae Sugarland
Runner-up: High Valley in place of Maddie & Tae, but that won't happen
Musical Event of the Year: "Babe" "Dear Hate" "Drowns the Whiskey" "Everythingβs Gonna Be Alright" "Meant to Be"
Runner-up: βComing Homeβ
Music Video of the Year: "I Hate Love Songs" "Get Along" "Marry Me" "Rich" "Mercy"
Runner-up: "Babe" in place of Kelsea

Nominees coming out a week from tomorrow. Do we know when the next round of voting starts? Always curious to pay attention to social media/~the scene~ after noms come out, as that's generally when you start to notice some interesting and out-of-the-blue (*garth*) news (*brooks*) within the industry that align with a campaign for some extra votes (*garthbrooks*).

Surprised Luke Combs is already in the Male Vocalist category and no Garth Brooks in Entertainer.
Also surprised Chris Janson in New Artist......and not Kane Brown. And none of those artists are really "new"
Sad that Meant to Be is in Single....but that should be an easy win for Tequila with those noms.
No real surprises in Duo or Female.

Drinkin' Problem sounds too ancient to be considered Single of this year. It peaked in September last year...(even though I love the song)

Not feeling Luke Combs in Male Vocalist. He's just not that good in general, don't get the hype. Honestly, the Male category is pretty disappointing.
Thank God we avoid a Garth Brooks win! Praise Jesus!
