I think the album will have legs though, her streaming numbers should be consistent for a while. There are enough single/video choices to keep it alive.

Poor numbers for Nicki but I'm not shocked.
She can still turn this era into a win with a couple hits, but so far her team has completely messed up everything.

THAT being said, it's still the highest opening week for a female rapper's 4th album , and even more impressive with that being 10 years later into her career. That's actually not the case. Missy's 4th album opened with 259k.

How many female rappers even make it into a fourth album? I'm guessing it's not a long list.
Priority for her team now should be a hit single. That can keep the album alive for a couple months. Bed is dead.

Why HDD allow this woman to write this article.... it's unusual for them... ''If you are indeed the Queen, that’s gonna show up in the data, sweetie. Second, in most contexts, one is anointed as Queen by her subjects. Only dictators declare themselves emperors. '' hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=312982

I think estimates will go up, but with the CDs releasing next week and the ticket bundles could potentially be included, she should not drop too much next week.

Second, in most contexts, one is anointed as Queen by her subjects. Only dictators declare themselves emperors. '' hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=312982 You're right, because this writer is riding a bandwagon hate train without using her brain 1. It does show up in the data. She's the highest-selling, highest-charting, highest-performing female rapper of all time. Just because these numbers aren't as high doesn't change that. 2. See above. Also, if you wanna get historical, Queens don't declare themselves queens; they're queens by dynastic rules. It's passed on based by bloodlines, marrying-in, etc... But in the music industry, that's determined by charts. Who's the Queen of Pop? Madonna. She's the highest charting and highest selling female Pop star. See where I'm going here.

^ This. I posted this in the Queen album thread but: Disappointing numbers for sure, but let's consider the following: - Her rollout was a disaster - There was no clear release date set - There are no physical albums available, and Nicki is typically a sales artist vs. a streaming artist - She has no single charting, really, on Urban or Pop - Weak promo schedule lined up for week 1 That being said, she's 10 years into her career and still pulling 100k+ in her first week. What other female rapper has accomplished that? Yikes. Ironic album title. It's not ironic. The title is still hers, and no one is anywhere close to taking it. I think she'll pull more than 150k. Let's see. Cardi B blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy. The set, which was released on April 6 through The KSR Group/Atlantic Records, earned 255,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 12, according to Nielsen Music. ——— full disclosure I like Nicki. Album is good! Genuinely just saying it’s not clicking for her this era and clearly she’s not the GP’s “Queen of Rap” that belongs to Cardi rn

This desire/need to compare two acts who are in totally different phases of their careers - in an industry where most are huge today and gone tomorrow - seems misguided.
To me, nicknames like this are given to someone who proves themselves the "best" overall (body of work), in this case, commercially. When you've achieved what Nicki has as a female rapper, nobody else has really touched her in most categories, therefore overall she is the reigning queen. Cardi has a good start to make a go at the crown, but unless and until she gets dozens more hits and a few more successful albums, tours, etc, under her belt... it's a faulty comparison.
It's always subjective because people can argue every last angle if they want to ("today's queen", "queen of 2018") - plus everyone can have their own criteria. But throwing Cardi out there over Nicki solely because of her debut album first week sales figure and two number one hits?

Has anyone else noticed the latest Apple Music update? Most of Queen's songs have dropped which probably means Astroworld's songs will do better overall. Unless the ticket album bundle is counted, I'd think Queen's projected SPS numbers could be revised downward.

It’s says 40-50 pure sales..So it want streaming only. But yeah her team killed her. They had the highest listeners ever Thursday night and she couldn’t release the album. Epic fail. Plus they pushed it up so it wouldn’t affect Ariana this week.

I think the number is good if it really doesn't include tour bundle.

Missy creative Elliot shouldn't be brought into this conversation. It's disrespectful to compare her to whatever is going on today.

this is bad. she had 2 months of pre order, merch bundle(digital), tour bundle(physical), 19tracks. btw, bundles are counted, it's just that.. tour is not doing that great currently. also the tour bundle is for "2 tickets = 1album", not 1 album per 1 ticket. (+future is also ding bundle with this tour, so if you buy 2tickets, you get 1 nicki and 1 furue album)
"Every pair of online tickets comes with one physical copy of Nicki Minaj's upcoming album, "Queen" and Future's forthcoming album. Approximately 24-48 hours after purchase, you will receive an additional email with instructions on how to redeem your album. US/Canadian residents only. One CD per pair of online tickets. Not valid for Fan to Fan Resale."

Doubling the next highest debut without having a hit single and a messy rollout and y'all are acting like she is completely falling apart. She obviously has a hell of a fan base to move that many units in the year of our Lord 2018

Nicki can hold this L i'm sorry.
Great numbers for Trippie though, especially considering the promo single sucked and that's the worst album cover I've ever seen.

Yeah I’m trying to figure out where it said your bundle🤔..Anybody can do -00k with a tour bundle so I don’t think it was included considering her tour with Future doesn’t start til September.
