h/t maddkat, zaclord 🌈, and 14887fan in her album thread for several pieces of information, signs are pointing toward a new Carrie Underwood song called "Love Wins" being the second single from forthcoming album Cry Pretty, with a video already shot (presuming it's for this song). No confirmation on songwriters or registration on Mediabase yet.

The "i---" notes in chorus though...It's interesting that she sang that part in Forever Country as well.

It would be nice if for once, they release songs to Google Play earlier. 80% of the world are on android!
ETA: THANK GOD FOR SPOTIFY WEB!

Is this coming out at midnight in the US? If so, I wonder if this will get hourly airplay tomorrow on the Clear Channel stations. I really hope this generates a ton of buzz for her! Perfect way to launch the album.

Now that I’ve listened to the full thing, it sounds a bit generic, no? Like, I get what she was aiming for and the song is catchy but it’s more PSA than life changing.

This is one of the worst singles she's ever released.

Its chorus packs a greater punch than the chorus of "Cry Pretty".
I like it! She's 2/2 for me as of now.

Oh my gosh, I love everything about this. The melody, production, lyrics, chorus, vocals, everything! Such a powerful and timely song, it made me tear up and get goosebumps. I don’t find it cheesy at all like some others are saying. The choir as well had me SHOOK. By far her best release since SITW imo.

It's perfectly listenable and catchy, but it's cheese. I probably won't be revisiting this one too much.

Maybe pre-2016 my cynicism and anger would have been at low enough levels to enjoy the strong production and vocal over these worthlessly generic platitudes but now I'm just like "...this is it?"
Which is unfair, I suppose. It's fine. The chorus has a nice melody and the song does its best to wrap you up in its cheesy goodness, and if you're ready to go there then I can see why people would like it and even an avenue for it to be a hit. But it's just too flaccid, too made-for-everyone for me to enjoy rn. Maybe if November goes our way I'll be in good enough spirits to stop rolling my eyes and start singing along.

This is not a country song. I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling this at all. I hope the rest of Cry Pretty is a better representation of the genre. I'm not even sure if this has hit potential either. I think Carrie would be better off releasing something else as the second single.

The chorus is fairly instant and the whole track is just generally more immediate than "Cry Pretty" was*, but as others have mentioned, it still falls flat and just doesn't come across as anything more than Carrie's answer to Rachel Platten.
*What I mean by this is I like this well enough upon first listen whereas "Cry Pretty" took a few attempts before it clicked. At this point in time, I believe "Cry Pretty" is overall the better song.

This song is cute. I liked it instantly because of the visual with the lyric video. It really brings the color and feeling of the song to life. With that said - it is pretty generic, not as generic as the Champion was. This sits somewhere slightly above not being as generic. It’s not very country but still more country than pop I would say. These made-for-everyone songs work for Carrie though because they have a sense of sincerity to them. It’s SLIGHTLY cheesy but I kind of overlook that, and really listen to what she’s actually saying because I think she means it.
This is def more radio friendly than Cry Pretty which really came alive through the live performances but as of now, I think Cry Pretty is a stronger song for its vulnerability, vocals and disjointed structure (it doesn’t seem to be arranged like a typical song).
Hope this does well for her, I think this will be a special album.
